  1. there is a law in NY that any store over 10,000 sqft cannot sell powder of any kind. local laws may be stricter.
  2. The geneganslit creek that runs north from the chenango river (south end of greene), to north of smithville flats following rt 41, as well the otsilec river that runs from whitney point north following rt 26 are both well stocked during the season. if you check the dec web site it will let you know what waters are being stocked and when.
  3. well joe that is a welcome thought. but it ends up one of two ways, the first is you end up in jail. the second is you have a really cool high dollar toy you cant play with or show off. now what fun is that?
  4. while i was trying to give a fellow gun builder some good advice then back out of the conversation, but since ive been asked here we go..... the top stock is a thunb hole, needs to be registered. the second stock has a protrusion below the trigger, needs to be registered. (the law does not define how big the protrusion can be) as WNY asked, define removable mag... you cant by the way the law was written. short of using a 50bmg upper (making it a single shot) it will be nearly impossible to make a legal ar. all ar uppers have a shroud from the receiver to the gas block to keep the workings covered. this allows you to wrap your hand around the barrel. making it illegal with a protrusion out the bottom. and lets not forget, on cuomos safe act page, it names banned makes and models. my advise? until this mess gets sorted out and repealed or at least definitions are clarified, build a bolt action or long bow, or increase your build budget enough to cover the legal fees.
  5. why stop at $60k, for $7million they could have asto turf.........
  6. those 3 questions may be the perfect opening questions in your letters! as for current accountability, your county clerk is the manager. you have a greater chance of access with that person (normally you can see them face to face) then you will with the head of the state police, and if things get way out of line you can vote the clerk out (most counties that im aware of its an elected position).
  7. some things are just not do it yourself friendly!
  8. one pound of tannerite will open any car door...... just make sure you use a center fire rifle and lots of distance! oh and always keep an extinguisher or fire truck handy......
  9. We'll happy birthday biz!
  10. i have to disagree. this is a capitalist society, and i wouldnt want it any other way. i dont work for free, but here is the twist, i dont expect anyone else to. this is where the liberal 'low information voters' are ignorant. lets look at a gallon of gas. yes it way to high at $4gal but how does that break down..... the gov. gets a quarter of that for having nothing to do with the drilling, refining, distribution, and sale. they get it just because. gas would be $3gal or less with out the tax, but its easier to blame exxon/mobile. i believe the saying goes 'to everyone they're ability to each they're need', that is the road to a gov, controlled society better known as communism. if someone builds a better mouse trap, and its craved by individuals then they should get paid for it. if the maker of the mouse trap needs capital to build the mouse trap the investors should be paid as well. now im not saying there isnt corruption, but it;s the ignorance of the public that points the blame in the wrong direction.
  11. well now the formality are done, whats the intended use of your ar? small game, target, yotes, big game?
  12. This holiday its my sister inlaws turn to host dinner. shes a good cook but decided on ham. now im not a big ham fan, really i cant stand it. so i was informed i was to make an alternitive meat dish. so here is what i came up with actually 2. beef brisket in the smoker. put a southwestern rub on it. nice bitty flavor. the second is 1/2 a turkey. i used a garlic rub on it. while sitting here watching sap boil i though hey why not a sweet and spicy injection on it? so i took some 35% sugar content sap, stuck 2 jalopena peppers in the blender, added both to a stick of butter in a pan, cooked it down til it was syrup, staind it, the injected it into the bird. this stuff was out of this world good. sweet and spicy. tomarrow ill through it the smoke as well. cant wait to try it!
  13. it still would have to be registered (early next year) and comform to the guildlines in the safeact. there are links in here that will take you to the law. read it before continuing your build.
  14. Doc my original statement is fact. the manager (state police) of the data base do not have to answer to the citizens of the state, they answer to cuomo. they have no accountability to us. in your letter simply ask what the accountability is of the manager of the data base. no emotion, no gripping an honest straight forward question that will make them think. Ask them what the protocols are for correcting errors. how are grievences handled. just ask questions. make them try to find answers that dont exsist.
  15. 2 weeks ago i bought 24 from my local agway. better hurry the run is winding down.
  16. tp is a given. allot of state woods here has no cell service. nice not to be interupted while snoozing in the woods!
  17. yep a good to have and hope you never need it, and if it on the gun all the time you'll never forget it. for the past 7 or 8 yrs weve been using harness drags, hook yourself up to the deer like your a horse, lol easier on the back and arms. just another im getting older piece of equipment!
  18. the funny part is ive bought 8000 primers so far this year, not to hoard, but the price was just to good to pass up, lr, sr, lp, and shot. i didnt pay more then $25 a thousand. half of them i bought at a gun show, 2k at a hardware store, and the sr i bought when a guy sold his ar to comply and got rid of his reloading stuff for it. there out there just got to be paying attention!
  19. most youngsters just go to florida on spring break!!!! what no bird hunting? or were you busy hunting other things!!!!! welcome home.
