  1. Sat in creek stand tonight, 4pm to 6pm. Nothing until last 5 minutes when a doe and her fawn came out into the far field and fed for a while. Got down and walked back, saw no other deer. Nice evening, light west wind, sun shined for about half the time. So looking forward my next planned hunt on Friday!
  2. I enjoyed your videos Brian! Love your bow too!
  3. @BowmanMike Better to be lucky than good! Congratulations on a nice deer and fun track!
  4. Sat in pond blind from 6:30am to 9am. No deer seen. Got out to change cards in 4 cameras. Walked up to barn and covered firewood before this rainy week. Walking down my driveway I see a deer about 50 yards from me and I freeze. Deer walks away and can no longer see me so I continue down driveway to get a view of the field he was in. I’m looking through my binoculars and he has a bright red patch just above his right shoulder. Never did see his left side. I notice there is a second deer with him, this one with a big wide rack. I’ve got pictures of him, but all nighttime, nice to see him up at 10am. I watch them for a few more minutes and note where they went. Went in the house and waited two hours and went out to try and track it. Found blood in last place I saw them ,but only a couple of swipes high up a weed, no drops. Searched around and found blood again pretty far away, but only a couple of drops. Looked hard for more sign but gave it up after a couple of hours. If it was my deer, I would still be out there or with Deer Search. Surprised no one came to ask permission to track, it was a nice buck and looked like a pretty good hit. Was hoping he was still around and walking it off, so I sat in Justin’s stand for two and a half hours. East wind but very light. No deer, but several scrapes nearby and a little tree freshly torn up.
  5. Rob, that’s a bummer. Best days are coming soon, you’ll get another for sure!
  6. X2 on muffs! Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  7. Tracked for 2 hours, found blood in 2 different and pretty far apart places. I think he is still up and off my property. So i am going to go hunt my own deer now! Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  8. Nothing seen until I get back to the house at 10am, 2 bucks near my driveway. One had a big wound on his right side above his shoulder. Someone hit him and now he is bedded down not to far from where I saw him. Texted all neighbors that I know hunt, no takers. I am going out in a bit to see if I can find him. Beautiful 8 point buck, and the other one was the buck with the wide rack that I have been getting pictures of and drooling over. Not sure what to do if I do find him?? Will DEC issue me a “finders” tag? Hate to see it go to waste.
  9. Up and ready, deciding on which stand to sit, or maybe the blind? Good luck all!
  10. Got up at 5:30 to head out and heard the wind howling. My wife asked me if I was really going out....that was all I needed, back to bed. Worked inside projects all day till 3pm, then got ready and went out to hunt last couple of hours. Hunted the creek stand again. Nice evening, but only one deer seen and that was 15 minutes before sunset. Something running hard towards me and then it disappeared in the thick stuff. Nothing else, but tomorrow morning looks really good and I really need to get into a different stand.
  11. Awesome deer Trial! Good to have a helper with you too!
  12. If they are super bloody, soak in salted water for a couple hours. Marinate for 1 hour in 1/3 soy sauce, 1/3 Worcester, 1/3 olive oil, add Hot pepper sauce if you want to. Take out dry with paper towels, salt, pepper, cast iron pan seared and up to 125 And NO MORE. Slice on the diagonal and enjoy!
  13. I can get you a positive Covid test for $500. I know a guy.
  14. @Robhuntandfish, @chrisw @Fletch - walk in cooler at my disposal if you need it.
  15. Great thread Dino, can’t wait to see you close the loop with a harvest.
  16. Netflix it sometime, it has Tony Shaloub in it, the guy from Monk. It’s pretty funny.
  17. Cube steak - OK! It’s almost burger anyways! I will stop criticizing anyone food habits. After all, I put mayonnaise on my grilled asparagus from time to time.
  18. Hunted the creek stand this evening from 3:30 to 6:15pm. Not a single deer seen at all. The scrape near this stand is a bit larger than a few days ago, I need to get a camera on it.
