You call that a knife.....

A part of my collection that is in actual use. I have a bunch more sitting around in a closet. The Havalon, I have not used it yet, but do carry it because it is very small and light. Camillus Model 4, most sentimental of the bunch but it is a little bulky for gutting deer. But I do carry it on my belt every trip. My most used knife, a gift from my friend after I complimented his. Small, light, easy to sharpen. Another Camillus original, second blade is for skinning. Looking forward to giving this one a try. Not really a deer knife, but I like this knife and hope to use it on an upcoming camping/fishing/hunting trip. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk -
Did you buy the dining set?

Spin off of the knife thread: sharpeners

I have that exact same Camillus filet knife. My sister and BIL gave it to me 29 years ago for standing up in their wedding party. Also gave me a Camillus folding buck knife, very similar to the Buck 110 folder. I saw the filet knife in the Camillus knife store in the village, vintage it was $80 NIB. Included the leather sheath. -
X2 on St Croix. I just bought a 4 piece for a camping trip, 6’6” medium action. Still figuring out which reel to pair it with. I am partial to the Pflueger Presidents at around $60. But I am looking at the Shimano Stradic too. I really should just use one of the reels already in my inventory, but I think a new pole needs a new reel.

What was wholesale on that? Dried is a lot of peppers for 2 Kilos.

Happy birthday Tacks!

They looked like Carolina Reapers. My cousin grew some, but everyone is afraid to try them.

Looks like heaven! Thanks for sharing.

It is much better cooked low, slow and wet. Or sliced thin, cooked quick in a stir fry. If you have a bunch of it, it also makes excellent pastrami. https://honest-food.net/goose-pastrami-recipe/ Check out his other recipes for goose on there.

What variety are those?

I always send my buddy up to do that hook up. He is younger, lighter and has long arms. He is still in danger, as am I, if he feel it would be right on top of me. We do use harnesses when hunting, but not when setting up a new stand. WE WILL FROM NOW ON. Thanks for sharing your experience and glad you are ok and just bruised up and sore.

They are awesome stuffed and smoked too.

I don’t understand why they do these surveys. The limit should be based on the biology of the lake. If the walleye are overpopulated and are hurting the perch or bass fishery, then, yes adjust it. But if it is just because an angler survey says to do it, then it makes no sense to me. I don’t fish Oneida as often as I would like to, but for me, a 3 fish limit is just fine. There are plenty of other fish to take if you need more for your dinner or freezer. Or put in a slot limit of keepers between 15 and 20, the rest are released.

Skinny-atlas is the correct pronunciation. Lots of great places to eat - both in town and nearby. Sherwood Inn has a raw bar on Saturdays and a nice view of the lake. Gildas has excellent wood fired pizzas, and Blue Water Grill is good all around. I do love Rosalies, I don't think that they are "too expensive" their meals are well worth it. No more expensive than some of the restaurants in Saratoga. My choice would depend on if it was a lunch or dinner. For lunch - Doug's Fish Fry and Blue Water would be first choices. For dinner - Sherwood Inn, Rosalies, and Gildas. I have not been to Elephant and Dove or Krebs - but they both have strong reviews and followers and they are at the top of the heap price wise. Definitely higher end places! For something nice for dessert try Patisserie - it is practically in the parking lot of the Sherwood Inn. . And their "stretch bread" is worth the trip. They may sell the Pastabilities tomato dip, if they do get that too! Or on Rout 20 east of town is a nice walk up ice cream place with homemade ice cream and a nice variety of flavors. I love the salted caramel. If you turn left there and go straight for about 8 miles, you will be at my house! The boat tours are fun too and you will see all the fancy homes on the lake. Skip the dinner cruise though and hold off for the restaurants.

Out again with Pygmy and TwoBuckBob. Had a good day, but a lot slower than a couple of weeks ago. Mostly bass today, a couple of perch and too damn many rockies! Hope to get out when the perch are on fire this fall. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
