  1. Been a busy couple of weeks. We are up to 81 quarts of tomatoes so far, I'd like to do 50 or so more. I've already given away 40 jars, and have another dozen promised. Tomatoes are beautiful this year! Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  2. Should give you more time to win raffles on Facebook! Lol! Heal up quick, the season is almost upon us!
  3. What a post! Welcome to the forum.
  4. I enjoy shooting but only get to do it 2 or 3 times in a week. I will shoot 30-50 arrows per session. I am usually at 20 yards or less, but will take a few at 30 just for fun. If I could only shoot 5 or 6 arrows every day I would, but I just don't have the schedule to be able to do that. Especially this time of year, so many other things to do and get ready for. But I agree a few arrows every day, is better than a bunch more only a couple of times a week. As long as you already have proper form and are consistent already.
  5. Sounds like a good routine and 50-60 arrows is not too much, that is what you would shoot in a league night. It is good to shoot from different angles, not just broadside. Be great if you have a 3D target too. I shot tonight from the ground and most of my shots were 20 yards on a quartering away deer.
  6. I would get the JSX, 66” x 31” It is not the biggest, but next size down.
  7. And hopefully LOTS of trail cameras!
  8. Thanks everyone , it went well. Home now resting up. I will be able to finally watch the last 2 episodes of Yellowstone. They Found a couple of polyps that will be tested. Results in 2 weeks. Otherwise all good.
  9. Well, I had a fun afternoon! Going in tomorrow morning for a checkup colonoscopy. The new prep fluids are quite a bit easier to swallow and produce the same result. Second dose in the morning, then 10 minutes of deep deep sleep. Wish me luck for a clean bill of health. And if you are over 50. And have not had one yet, it is time to get one scheduled. A co-worker just found out she has colon cancer, which was prevalent in her family (sister just died from it a few months ago) and had never had a checkup because “everything was fine”. DO IT. YOU MAY SAVE YOUR OWN LIFE.
  10. I like this idea. Those days between Christmas and New Years are like a dead zone for me. Deer is done, and too early to ice fish. I’d rather be in the woods than put away decorations!
  11. I like my HSS vest too. A friend bought it for me a couple of years ago and I thought it looked hokey. But it is very comfortable, reversible, and has a couple of pockets too. Thankfully I have never tested the suspension on it.
  12. A good bark and smoke ring is a sign of excellent smoking! Unless it is a real lean cut of meat, like venison, I would leave it unwrapped. Although I have smoked venison unwrapped and it was plenty juicy, Proper temp is key.
  13. First gun buck, 2013 (I was a very late starter in hunting!) First Bow Buck, thanks @The_Real_TCIII for getting me started!
  14. Looks like a great night, Dinorocks really knows how to entertain!
  15. Cynthia, so sorry for your loss, and your nephews accident. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
  16. Looks great, but I would have bet $100 it was going to be a lobster roll!
  17. My father (off of the boat from the old country) always said to plant in the first full moon of October. But when we still had garlic sets To sell at the farm store he told a customer as long as the ground was not frozen, it could be planted! I have actually planted in first week of December and it was fine. I prefer an October planting though. This year was just too dry I think and that’s why bulbs were small. I actually watered the garlic this year, but not enough. I did buy new sets because my crop this year was half yellowed. The rest of it was fine, but a little small. I believe there is some fungus in my plot, so I am moving it for next year. I will seed the old plot with winter rye and let it sit for a couple of years. Jokingly, I told my friend that the German garlic may be stronger and bigger, but the Italian garlic was more flavorful and lasted longer!
  18. I got that on eBay last year. There are lots of vintage knives on there.
  19. WHAT A DAY! We were fishing the same rock pile as those pros! Hope to hear about the perch bite coming on for fall!
