  1. Step 3 completed tonight in advance of some rain. Ground is not dry so I should be good either way. I borrowed a drag harrow from my cousin and went over both plots with the times down to smooth it out and break up some of the clumps and root balls. It helped a lot. Then I seeded the smaller plot with throw and grow and ran over it with the harrow upside down (tines up) - which hid the seed, but didn’t bury it too deep. I don’t have a roller at my disposal, but this worked well. On the larger plot I seeded with rye and again dragged with the harrow tines up. Instead of the red clover, my cousin surprised me with 5# of chicory, so I used that in place of the clover. I think I will still have time to start on another plot in a different area within the next 2 weeks. I still need to check on my tree stands, move a couple and maybe set up a ground blind in advance of archery season. Sorry no pics, too much to do in too short a time. I’ll take some when I see spouts.
  2. I have. Just have the season finale to watch. Yes, Beth is a bitch! Pretty hot too.

  4. Just got back from a week of fishing in Quebec near Chibougamau at Domaine Poutrincourt. Had very good weather except for a cold front for 2 days. It was down to 43 at night. Can't believe it, but I have no fish pictures! Biggest pike was 30" and biggest walleye was 19". Nothing to brag about for sure. But we had a nice time and had some great scenery including 3 bears and several eagles. The Three Rivers area is absolutely beautiful!! I want to meet these guys.....anyone know who "CNY Slayers" are?? Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  5. Step 2 completed. As suggested, I disked the snot out of it and it came out pretty good. One plot was a little wetter, but not bad. I have 50 lbs of winter rye for the larger plot and a bag of throw and grow for the smaller one. I plan to add red clover in with the rye, just not sure on the timing of planting. No rain in the forecast except showers in a couple of days. Suggestions welcome. Small plot about 150 x 40 Larger plot about 400 x 60 Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  6. We were empty nesters and loved it. Now we are boomerang parents, still love that too. Enjoy the time, it’s like a fresh restart on your marriage and lifestyle!
  7. I’d be happy with that! Don’t have a lawn roller, but can plant in advance of predicted rainfall.
  8. I’m 250, so you drive and I’ll ride. Tractor has a cup holder.
  9. Thanks for the pointers and suggestions. I’m glad I’m not running too late. I’m gone all next week on a Quebec fishing trip, so the next steps won’t happpen until I get back. I should be okay having it all in by Labor Day. I am definitly going to look into the seed suggestions here. There is a good Farm Supply not too far that has most of those items in bulk, so I can get whatever mixture and quantity I need. I really should test the soil and see what it needs before I do that too. I have a 25 gal tank sprayer on the back of my ATV. I used generic 41% Roundup at 2.5 oz per galllon (per instructions on label) and I added spreader sticker to it too. I was surprised how brown it was after only a week too!
  10. It’s a 6’ disk and I’ve got some weight I can put on it. I’ll give that a try.
  11. I saw them in Constanzo Sausages in Webster a few weeks ago.
  12. I love their mustards! The horseradish sauce is really good too, great on venison steaks.
  13. Thanks GMan, I wasn’t sure what to plant and several people have told me red clover was a good start. I’ll look into the cereal and brassicas. I am looking for a plot for this year.
  14. Moog, I like that obstacle course....it’s like threading the needle in the woods!
  15. This is my first attempt at a food plot. I know I am about 2 weeks off the schedule, but that's how it is. Sprayed with roundup last week. Looks like it has done its job! I will scrape off the dead grass next week and then disk it up, drag it and then seed it with red clover. I may throw in a bag of food plot mix I found in the barn. I think I bought it last year. 16. Or should I post it here? Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  17. I'm the first picture post? So glad it's a good shot. 20 yards. Sent 7 more arrows down, had 3 in the center and the other 4 down and left in the outer ring. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  18. Just downloaded all 4 episodes. I’ve got a 14 hour trip (28 if you count the return a week later) coming up this week. Should be good listening!
  19. I just sprayed a new spot last week but won't be able to disk it until after the 20th. Hope to seed it soon after with red clover, which should sprout and grow fast. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

    Beer

Empty, of course. That may explain a few of the issues in this house. When my parents built their first house in the 50’s the framer would show up drunk and drink all day too. When the plaster man came to plaster the walls, he said it was and suarest house he had ever worked on.

A Classic!! I had lots of Genny and Genny Cream Ale in my college days. This bottle was found yesterday inside the framing of my house when they were replacing one of the windows. Bottle is stamped 82 (year the house was built) and priced at $1.99. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  22. Our Town Clerk is not so good looking, but she is efficient! Got 2 tags, 1 for 7F and 1 for 7M, both had high probability.
  23. That’s a good question....if it were me, I would boil it off now and then freeze it. It only takes an hour or so to finish it off. But if you really don’t have the time to do it this weekend, I think you would be ok to freeze it with a little brine in it. It might come out a little saltier.
  24. I got my tags yesterday, now just need to get my doe tags, and bring in my new archery certificate. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
