I hunted yesterday in an occasional light rain. I have the bow hanging in the garage, I’m sure it’s nice an dry now, but should I do anything to it to prevent rust or anything else?

I just watched a video on Growingdeer.tv that show a deer can drop 2.5 inches on the sound of the bow string. This was tested at 20 yards. Very good video about 20 minutes long. Nice deer Moog, Congratulations! Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk- 10374 replies

https://www.freshpreserving.com/recipes/ Plus I have a 1995 Edition of the Ball Canning Guide, and Grandmother’s and Mother’s recipes from way earlier than that! Good point though. Easy to do if you can follow instructions.

Added a few jars to the shelves this past weekend. My wife brought home a 1/2 bushel of green peppers that I will pickle tonight. Also waiting on 50# of San Marzanos to ripen so I can can them whole. Applesauce from our apple trees in our yard and long red hot peppers from our farm. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

I was in the stand and settled at 6:10 am. Finally remembered at 6:40 or so to load an arrow in my bow! (Hey, I'm a newbie) Very dark and foggy until 9am or so, off and on mostly light rain. Did not see any deer moving, but really enjoyed the early fall woods. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk- 10374 replies

I saw these in the woods today and would like to know what they are. Not planning to pick or eat them, but would like to increase my knowledge a little. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

Thanks guys, I'm going to drag a target out there and throw a few arrows to see how it works. I have shot at 3-d's off a bench at the Gun Club and was able to adapt pretty good there. Just have a much tighter window here between the blind, the cover and a tree. But I think it will be a great spot because it is a hidden food plot that I get a lot of pictures of feeding deer from.

Thanks Rob, I figured it was a bad idea to shoot thru the mesh. Not sure why they call it shoot thru mesh then! I’ll have to lower the screens by a few inches to be able to shoot thru, but hopefully still not be seen. The blind is not lopsided, I left the window fabric uneven to help hide it and make it look more natural. This is the chair I have, https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M9GBAEK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I have a chair just like yours too. Maybe Ill try that one too.

It is down at the lowest level. Any shorter and I think my bow limbs will hit my knees. I’m in a tree stand until I get a chance to dry run it with a target.

SAME HERE!! Good luck to all archers!

Brushed in a blind today where I planted a food plot. I don't plan to hunt it for at least 2 weeks from now. I didn't have my bow with me but it seems that because of the height of the windows I'll need to kneel down to get the arrow in the right spot. Is that the usual stance in a blind? Also the blind has shoot through windows.....doesn't that affect arrow flight? I am rethinking the ground blind now...... Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

I just downloaded it this week. I am looking forward to using it this year. I listened to Mark Drury on the WIRED TO HUNT podcast this week and learned a lot. If you have the app, you should listen to the podcast to help understand all the information it is showing you. There are 2 episodes.

Another archery virgin here too......57 years old and my fist archery opener! Can’t wait!

Tomatoes finally were ripe enough. 9 boxes yielded 44 quarts. We strain the puree to get it nice and thick. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

Progress report on my 2 food plots. First one is the winter rye mixed with chicory. Second one is a bag of Throw and Grow. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

We have our tomatoes but they need a day or two more to really ripen. Tonight we did 1/2 bushel of roasted red peppers, and a peck of sweet yellow bananas. Maybe I can get Bionic to make a pizza for me! Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

What is the difference between “The Shot That Counts” and “First Shot of the Day”? I post in both.

Beautiful carving Wooly. I saw these pics on another site, not that you need any inspiration. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Thank you. I do have a layered target, so I will use just that from now on.

Best to you Eddie! You are in the right spot to deal with this. Stay Strong

Looks great Rob, we got our tomatoes today, 10 25# boxes. Hoping to get 40 or so quarts.

Tonight I put a broadhead (Thunderhead 100 grain) on 2 arrows to shoot for the first time. I marked those arrows as practice arrows only. I will use identical arrows and new broadheads when hunting. This was the first shot. Second shot was right next to it, so far it is shooting just like a field point. However, I had a heck of a time getting the arrows out! I thought bag targets were ok for broadhead use?? I ended up losing 2 blades on each arrow, so I am already down 2 broadheads! What target can I shoot at that won't ruin my broadheads? Yes, tonight for the first time......see my Just Starting Out thread.
