  1. Do you use the Walkers Game ear that goes into your ear canal, or a over the ear style?
  2. I am in the same boat. I really need to look into a game ear, or hearing aids.

  5. I am looking for three shooters for a Thursday night archery league at Wildwood Archery Center in Eldridge (on Fikes Rd). I am on a team, but we need three more guys to round out the league to 8 teams. Compound or Traditional, all skill levels welcome. Very relaxed and friendly group of guys. 9. Is that how the Land Trust in Vermont works? In NY, from what I understand, is if you “sell” your property to the Land Trust, you can’t develop it. You still own it, but it must stay in the current state that it is....ag land, timber land, etc. You can post it, it is still private land. It’s used to prevent valuable agricultural lands from turning into subdivisions.
  10. Deer 2 150 pounds dressed weight 18" inside spread 8 points Savage 220, 20 Ga., Remington Accutips This was my first outing with gun, for various reasons, including laziness. Seeing some great bucks taken recently inspired me (esp. TF) plus a Thursday morning sighting of this buck motivated me to at least get my butt in a stand. I was not even ready yet, had just clipped my harness onto the tree, had not loaded the gun or even wiped the snow off the tree stand seat. I turned around and noticed a deer about 150 yards away but could not see any antlers. I had to dig out my binoculars and when I had them could clearly see it was the buck I had seen the day before. I loaded my gun (Savage 220) as quietly as possible. I used a bleat can and got his attention. But he was not coming closer. I dug the grunt tube out of the bottom of my backpack, gave it one blow and that was all it took. He walked to me and I shot him at 65 yards. He took off and went behind some trees and brush. I gave him 20 minutes and found him 50 yards from where I shot him. I've never had such a short time in the treestand! Very thankful and happy for a great season. Hoping to take one with a muzzleloader too, plus I've got a DMP to use too. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  11. Thanks everyone for the Likes and congratulations! Awesome morning for sure and I am thankful for a great season. I will post more photos and story on my entry post later on. Off to work now, all morning meetings had to be delayed a bit due to my situation.
  12. Awesome! So glad you punched that tag with a beauty! Will be tipping a beer in your honor tonight!
  13. 1/3 olive oil, 1/3 soy sauce, 1/3 Worcester sauce. Add minced garlic or ginger if you like. Marinate for 1 - 2 hours. Bring meat to room temp, salt, pepper (or montreal is great too) cook to 130 internal MAX. let rest 10 minutes.
  14. I have the OX5 as well, and I agree the windows could be a little higher up, especially for archery. I did set the blind over a 3 or 4” divot in the ground and put my chair inside the divot, that helped bring the arrow and bow down a little inside the blind. I think the Big Mike has better windows for archery, might look into that for next season. I also had the center portion cave in under heavy snow, but there was no damage to the blind after popping it back up. If you can’t find replacement fiberglass poles, you can use fiberglass driveway stakes in their place. Not as tight a fit as the regular ones, but they will work in a pinch.
  15. That trip was just added to my bucket list! Looks awesome!
  16. Barronetts are still made, and it is one of the best blinds I have used. Very sturdy! They have a great website, and are available on Amazon.
  17. When I filled out my archery tag, I could not get a ball point pen to work, even in the warm house. I did notch the date with a knife. Sharpie it is from now on.
  18. What a great tribute you wrote for him! He was a fighter for sure. Saying goodbye to a loved pet is a very diffult thing to do. I’m sorry you had to do that so soon.
  19. Wild Turkey Roll, last nights Friendsgiving, with all the usual trimmings. Saw this recipe in the NWTF magazine. The recipe said to stuff it with your favorite stuffing, which for our family is "pasta stuffing". Tasted great and my daughter and I polished off the leftovers tonight. 20. Robhuntandfish, Cool looking rack! Can’t wait to see more pictures, Congratulations!!
  21. There might be pictures of them on the internal memory of the camera. You just have to hook it up directly to your computer.
  22. I will take the other 2. Send me PayPal contact info. Thanks!
  23. Still hoping to fill my doe tag before gun season. Saw a 4 pointer earlier, but he stayed on the far side of the field. Had 2 doe come out a few minutes later and watched them feed for a while. Lost sight of one of them, turns out she had come much closer to my stand about 40 yards away. While I was getting the bow off the hook I made a slight noise. She stopped and looked hard, then started to walk away. I hit the bleat can and she started walking back towards me. I had her two steps away five minutes before sunset, but she just would not take another step into the clearing!! Got down 15 minutes later and blew three deer out of the field. Feel like I am getting close......
