Very misleading and biased info provided by the US Bureau of Labor Statistics. Don't think any of us believe it for a minute!!!

Lady Gaga stares down Blake Shelton & Miranda Lambert
nyslowhand replied to Deerthug's topic in General Chit Chat
Isn't Lady(?) Gaga Uncle Fester's new significant other?? Funny thing is that she probably thinks they look weird..... -
Geez, those deer still look real healthy & fat for the middle of Feb..... Little snow cover & a mild winter!??! Wonder who makes those cams for Primos. Night time photo quality is a little fuzzy, but tolerable. Appears to be a decent trail cam!! Be surprised if you get any antlers still on this time of year...

And not having a properly tagged deer had one of the lowest fines or penalties.......? Lot of inequity in the fines. IMHO - Should be a lot stiffer penalties for most offences. Depending on severity of infraction, at least a 10 year loss of license privileges along with the fine &/or jail time!

Way over the top, even for PETA!!! Killer whales kidnapper & held as slaves at Sea World??? Violating their Constitutional Rights............ http://www.cnn.com/2012/02/06/justice/killer-whale-lawsuit/index.html

Smaller cousin of the wolverine! BTW - Stupid video!

Very interesting & refreshing short film. And a film with a hunting theme to be voted "Best" by the fans.... Worth the 12:38min of your time to watch!

No one to blame but ourselves! Every generation wants a better life for their offspring than they had. So it has finally evolved into today's society. Top that off with a few over zealous lawyers or family rights activists bent on changing the world in their eyes - and here we are! We've become an entitled society concerned with convience of life and amassing worldly possessions. Bet you'd have a had time finding a teenager willing to work for less than $10/hr. I know I did!!! Several refused to work at all!! Of course there are still a few of the traditionalist around whose basic concerns are family and happiness.

So...that's the audience they're targeting??????????? Never thought much of her when in her prime, like 30 years ago? Sure hope they don't have Steven Tyler (Aerosmith) sing the National Anthem! He "butchered" it during the playoff game. Maybe my all time favorite, Justin Bieber (NOT!!).

Anyone see the show "My Big Redneck Vacation"?
nyslowhand replied to burmjohn's topic in General Chit Chat
Generally skip over the CMT channel, but may need to take a look at this show. No doubt produced by Larry the Cable Guy..? -
Rootin' for some more halftime "wardrobe malfunctions"......., my bad!! OMG - I take that back, it's Madonna performing!!!!!!!!!!!

You're kidding, ...1966?? lol Was in college, 19 years old and it was the 60s............hell NO I don't remember that winter or year...!
-
Oh no, not the 12-21-12 end of mankind reference.....LOL Typically by this time every year we've had at least 1/2 our annual snowfall of ~100+". Think I've gotten ~8" so far, mostly from one snow storm. Now the rain fall so far this winter....................still treading water!

Ideally both; comfort & large platform! Proverbial "chicken or egg" question..... If you can't sit comfortably for extended peroids, you're not going to see deer to be able to shoot (from the stand). If you're not comfortable, at least for myself I begin twitching or moving around which leads to shortened hunts. Of course, when you see a deer it's better to be able to maneuver around on a larger platform.

OMG, what have I created!!??? Just shoot me.... Topic was meant to praise the Seals and not the qualifications of the president!!!! Sorry if I implied the President had any ownership of the Navy Seals. A simple play on words, my bad. He did have the final say & approval (or deligated) to launch their operations at least in non combat situations. God bless ALL the military personell that have or will protect our freedoms and citizens around the world!!

I have 3 of the older version of the Summit Single Shot ladder stands. They have the replaceable sling or hammock style seats. Very comfortable seats and really secure feeling stand. Newer versions are somewhat bigger. Not real easy to find at BP and online they cost a small fortune for s/h. These are around $230 when available at BP. Also have a couple of F&S (Dick's) single person ladder stands. Very much like the Big Game, Big Dog or River's Edge ladder stands. Not quite as substantially made as Summits & of course the hard platform seat. Extra cushion recommended for those of you w/o a lot of body padding....... A few extra bolts & straps and they are fairly secure. Do like them for the ability to maneuver more easily while standing up (larger platform). Typically your $150 ladder stand. FYI - I learnt the hard way! After you've been sitting in an uncomfortable stand for 4-5 hours or when the wind really begins whipping - You'll wish you'd not been such a cheapskate!!! If you're determined to scrimp on the cost of a stand, you'll definitely need to invest in a good safety vest.

You raised a good point. I'd assumed they were same members due to the smaller size of a "team". Incorrect assumption! DOD nor Dept of Navy will confirm even their existence. Maybe close to 300 members of Seal Team 6. FYI - Seal Teams ; (or do your favorite news search) http://foxnewsinsider.com/2011/05/07/fast-facts-navy-seal-team-6/ http://motherjones.com/mojo/2012/01/facts-about-navy-seal-raid-somalia

I got a Cuddeback Capture last year. Great photos, fast triggering, but a really narrow detection zone. Guess all trail cams have their "trade-offs"! Am in the process of getting another cam, but not a Cuddeback.

Not promoting any product, whatever works for you - keep using it!!! Don't you still need a peep sight with the Square-up sight? That's what I was trying to get way from using while wearing tri-focals. Was damned near impossible for me to focus on 3 things at different distances. Peep, pins & target.... Bubba - That's gotta be the wierdest thing I've heard of in a while. LOL Never had an Optometrist suggest that........ Learn something new every day! Had to be hard to adjust to wearing those contacts!??!

Giant Alaskan Malamute Puppies
nyslowhand replied to yukonhunter's topic in Non Hunting Items For Sale and Trade
No mixed breed, mine was an AKC registered Malamute. That dog, his parents & litter mates all exhibited the traits I outlined. Of course not all dogs within any breed can be expected to show the exact same traits! General traits or characteristics, certainily!! Just as a side note; In the rare situations where my malamute broke his tether (chain), he'd bring home souviners of his romps. Neighbor's cats & poultry. His parents had broke free one time and taken down a full grown farmer's hog. Unbelievable, but true!!
