Last year I bought a 1.75 liter bottle of Crown at the duty free on the way in for about $22 IIRC... However the dude at the Canadian Customs charged me duty on my 30 pack of Genny light..He said I could bring either the whiskey OR the beer duty free, but not both....Since I had paid 13.97 for the beer at Walmart, it was no big deal...Other years I have taken the beer and the jug in and paid no duty...Probably depends on what officer is on duty and how bored he is at the time...I will set aside a quart of Bick's for the fishing trip, but they won't last long..

The truck is loaded.....I'm heading out in the morning....I'll be setting up my blind tomorrow afternoon and hunting Friday morning....Gotta make a few traditional stops on the way up...Picking up a bottle of Crown, a bucket of KFC, and a couple of quarts of Bick's garlic dill pickles... Life is GOOD !!….

I'm out of likes already today...

There is a logical explanation to that phenomena, Stormy....Turkeys and deer are actually the same species, known as " DEERKEYS" During deer season they look like turkeys, and during turkey season they look like deer... It may sound kind of far fetched, but would I lie to you ?? By the way, the check is in the mail...

Incredibly funny guy...He and Korman were a great team....In the video clips, he has 3 other great comics, Carol Burnette, Vickie Lawrence and Harvey Korman, nearly peeing their pants....

You are a lucky man, my friend..... For MOST of us, hummers are like Beef Wellington....You don't get that at home....<<sigh>>….

I'm bunking with Bigfoot..He already ate all of the bears in the area, so I have to settle for hunting turkeys..

Prince Edward County, near Picton….It is on the north shore of Lake Ontario about due north of Sodus Bay... It's only about 125 miles north of my home as the crow flies, but it's about a 300 mile trip since I have to drive around the lake..

Anyone familiar with the Kimber Hunter 6.5mm Creedmoor rifle?
Pygmy replied to goosifer's topic in Rifle and Gun Hunting
I certainly have never bought a rifle with a " sub MOA" tag attached to it....Good luck and keep us posted... -
Thanks, Rob....There were also some birds from Missouri stocked in the area...The Missouri birds tended to be somewhat heavier, so the first few years I hunted up there 23 -25 pound gobblers were quite common...Now things seem to have leveled out...Most adult gobblers are from 18 to 21 pounds, similar to around here...

Damn !! Is Fred still kicking ?? Bless his heart if he is....I met him back in the early 1980s when I first got involved on the grassroots level with my local NWTF Chapter, The Twin Tiers Chapter....

Actually Rob, a good number of the turkeys in the area I hunt were trapped and transferred from right here in NY southern tier in the late 1980s nd early 1990s, so they speak REDNECK NEW YORK.....

Perhaps, Bill, but no guarantee,,One 300 acre parcel that we used to hunt changed hands a few years ago and the new owners were not anti hunters, but were non hunters and decided they did not want anyone hunting their land..That was my favorite place to hunt..Killed a few nice gobblers there, plus two big coyotes.....
-
After a couple of false starts, I am finally headed to Ontario Thursday morning, to hunt for 5 or 6 days...Weather looks pretty decent.... It may be one of my last hunts up there..My host is in poor health, and a couple of the landowners we hunt on are older than dirt...

Larry...I hope that can was EMPTY when you shot it....

K.I.S.S......I set the target at about 20 yards so that it is easy to tell the center of the pattern...I shoot light field loads since I believe all shot loads will pattern in about the same place with the same barrel/choke tube and sight setting.. I adjust my sights to point of aim, and then switch to turkey loads and move the target to 40 yards, being sure I have a fairly big piece of cardboard...I adjust the sights to POA at forty yards..Center of pattern may be off a couple of inches, but usually it is very close.... I use 12 gauge 3" loads, either Win XX or Federal Premium buffered copper plated shot....Both shoot dense enough patterns with either #4 or #6 shot for sure kill patterns out to 45 yards in my gun..If I can't get them that close. I don't shoot..
