  1. Should have let ME hold the fish..It would at least 36" and 13 pounds...
  2. Back in the day I lit MANY a Marlboro on one of those things..I cant' remember when they quit putting them in cars, but I know my 2004 Ford Ranger did not have one...
  3. I plan to put in wheat in one plot and forage oats in another plot the last week of August I plowed up two appx 2 acre strips last weekend and will be getting it disced as soon as it dries out a few days... Like Let Em Grow said, I prefer to plant turnips and radishes about the first of August, but I am not putting any in this year..
  4. I'd like to volunteer our illustrious Governor....That bow doesn't hold more than ten arrows, does it ?
  5. Ya THINK ??...Hehehe....Morons didn't know what a set of dies was but they knew they could get a few bucks from one of their burn out buddies for a beam balance... They probably didn't know a grain from a gram, either....I hope they OD'd.....
  6. HOT DOG WARS.....The Sahlens were very good...ALMOSTas good to my taste as the Hoffmans, which are IMHO the best I have tried....The Zweigles were good, but I did not like the taste and/or texture as much as the Hoffman's or Sahlens…. Just another opinion from another old short fat guy.....Hehehe...
  7. I'd kill every one I could if they were in season.... However since I never do anything illegal, I'd suggest waiting until September and THEN kill every one you can....Hehehe... I'd also suggest enlisting the help of a good trapper.. He would probably kill more 'yotes in a season than you would in several years just hunting them or shooting them as targets of opportunity..
  8. Now I'm offended... My ex-wife and daughter are both leftists... Oh... Wait a minute....I thought you said LEFTIES ….Sorry...Never mind.....<<sigh>>….
  9. If it were not for the legal repercussions, I would shoot the bastards without feeling the slightest twinge of regret.. I HATE a thief....If you piss me off enough, I might kill you, but I NEVER would steal from you...
  10. Can't make it this weekend...The Mermaid has a family thing....
  11. I've been there a number of times..My nephew is a sales rep for Fox Run...The German White garlic I have been planting for several years now comes from seed bulbs that I bought at the Fox Run festival...
  12. Boyd's makes an excellent product for a reasonable price.. Gator, my Canadian hunting buddy, bought one for one of his Garands and it was a beauty....I would like to get one to replace the somewhat beat up ( and poorly refinished by a former owner) stock on my Garand. I have been meaning to procrastinate about that, but I haven't got around to it yet....Hehehe...
  13. Actually, there advantages to a smaller group...At the Goat, I got to say "HI" to quite a few members, but only got to chat mostly with the ones who sat close to me.. Last night I got to visit a lot more with TF and Nomad than I did previously and also got to talk a lot with Philo and Jerry, both of whom I met FTF yesterday for the first time. It was also nice to meet TF's lovely wife Michelle and his beautiful daughter Samantha, who is a celebrity on the forum in her own right, due partly to her talent for sleeping in the woods.....<<grin>>….
  14. I just made it home, without even hitting any deer...Thanks again Philo, for setting it up and many thanks to Jerry for the ride and good company up and back....Let's do it again soon... The hot pastrami sandwich I had sure was good !!
  15. I haven't climbed a flagpole since Moby Dick was a minnow...
  16. I think it was in the late 90s, Jerry.. That is about the time I doing a lot of out of state hunting and was looking for a " grizzly capable" rifle to replace my Ruger M77 .338 Win mag...I was interested in a Tikka in 9.3 x 62 and everyone I talked to told me that Creekside would have one if ANYONE did.. I had many friends who had been to Creekside, but I had never been there...I drove up, and when I got there they were in the process of liquidating their inventory.. They had just a few guns left on the racks..Big disappointment.. I never did find a Tikka in 9.3x62, but ended up buying a CZ-550 American in the same chambering, and was never sorry for a minute...Very fine rifle ( with a walnut stock to boot) and a real tack driver...
  17. No Philo....I have already made emergency arrangements....If we need lodging, an old friend of mine, a former "hostess" at Mabel's House of Pleasure, has offered to let us stay in her "rubber room", for a nominal fee, of course... It pays to have friends.....<<SMILE>>…..
  18. DANG !! I'd be on that like a crow on a pig turd !!
  19. I'll shop at Dick's right after I watch my next Jane Fonda movie....
  20. Kinda like the Democratic National Convention..
  21. DANG !! They have been there for years and years...They closed their store in Elkland PA a year or so ago, but I thought it was only a local thing... I used to get components ( shot, powder, wads, primers) from Beikirchs back in the 60s when I was shooting Owl league Trap and skeet...
  22. Geeze, Eddie, at your age you make your own...All it takes is charcoal, saltpeter, and urine....<<grin>>...
  23. That is a PASSLE of POSSUM..!!…. I wonder what he did with all of them...?... Perhaps a BBQ down in Dogpatch ?.... Dang, if he skinned and stretched all of them he probably would have made 15 or 20 bucks ….
