    I have run into robins in dense conifer cover several times in midwinter while rabbit hunting, but as Greg says, most of them migrate south...Robins are the one species that I have seen everywhere I have ever hunted, from the Arctic Circle to the Mexican border...

    Not trying to hijack the thread, but I saw my first roughleg of the season yesterday..They should be coming in numbers now with this cold weather...Also it may be a good year for short eared owls...On mild years I seldom see them...

    Al. you are breaking my heart.....I had a nice vintage 24 in my possession for a couple of years , I did not own it, but had lots fun shooting rabbits, squirrels and even a few grouse ( on the wing, not off the limb) with it.... It eventually went back to my ex bro-in law, who gave it to his son, who sold it in a yard sale for $150 and was tickled to get that much money for " that old gun"......<<<SIGH>>>...

    Stormy...I missed the fact that the combo you mentioned featured a .22 rimfire barrel rather than a centerfire...That should be perfectly legal to hunt deer in a shotgun only zone, even with the rfile barrel loaded, as long as you don't attempt to shoot a deer with the rifle barrel...If the rifle barrel was a centerfire, it would be illegal to posses ammo for the rifle barrel while you were hunting deer with it... Sorry if I passed on faulty info...

    Last time I checked the regs ( a number of years ago) It was legal as long as you don't posess any ammo for the rifle barrel while hunting in a shotgun only area... This would apply to all combo guns including drillings.....

    I just finished up some pork baby back ribs slathered in Sweet Baby Ray's plus a big ol' sweet tater ( baked in foil) and a tossed salad washed down with Genny Light... After The Mermaid makes me do dishes and clean up the kitchen, I might take a nap so I can wake up and watch the ball drop... But if I don't......WTF ???....Hehehehe... Happy New year, Y'all...!!....

    KEEEEEWWELLLLL.....I'd still keep the shotgun for the bedroom gun, however....When the s**t hits the fan, who cares about recoil or muzzle blast, as long as the problem downrange ( as in.....across your living room) gets taken care of... The 9MM sounds like a fun gun to play with, however... I also realize it ain't no toy... Many tens of thousands of dead soldiers , victims of German MP 38s and MP40s and British stens could attest to that , or they could if they weren't DEAD...
