Tenderloin medallions flash fried about 1 minute per side in butter and sprinkled with a little seasoned salt... Did up both inside TLS and have enough leftover to take a Ziploc bag for lunch tomorrow for the PA opener...Along with proper accompaniments of course...A large Mr. Goodbar, a large Almond Joy and a pack of Reese Cups... One rule...DON'T put the chocolate and the hand warmers in the same pocket !

All I need is s ride to the top of the hill..It's a downhill drag all the way back to the truck. Good luck and safe hunting to all of y'all who are hunting PA tomorrow.!

Do any of you choose slug gun over rifle?
Pygmy replied to Billdogge's topic in Rifle and Gun Hunting
I agree that the 220 was designed as a "rifle" rather than a shotgun... It is far more accurate and effective at longer range than the smoothbore shotguns that we all were required to use here in the southern zone when I started hunting back in the 1960s... -

I love my shotguns, but I like to use them for what they are designed for... The common tern for shotgun was once " fowling piece"...GRIN... -

Do you know the difference between erotic and kinky ? Erotic is when you tickle her with a feather... Kinky is when you use the whole chicken... -

I generally sight my centerfires in a couple inches high at 100, and this allows me to hold dead on out to about 250 with no holdover..One of my rifles, my .280 Rem, is sighted 3-4" high at 100, and if I am hunting terrain where there is a chance for 300-400 yard shots, that is the rifle I carry. With that sighting it's about 4" low at 300 and about a foot low at 400. I sight my muzzleloader 2 inches high at 50 yards which puts it dead on at 100 yards. Since I use iron sights ( tang peep sight) on the MZ, I don't shoot over 100 yards with it...

Moody's Downgrades Remington To Poor Investment Status
Pygmy replied to Mr VJP's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
Too bad...I've had Remingtons all my life and they have been good quality firearms.. However, the newest one I own is about 25 years old... Sad to hear that the quality has deteriorated that much.. -
Yeah, one and the same....Last I knew it was still open...

I'll be hunting in Tioga County near Nelson...No doe shooting this year for the first week, and with ARs in place I don't expect to hear much shooting..

Well said....I have said the same thing many times, just not as WELL as 7600 said it.. Of all of the animals I have shot and have SEEN shot, the only ones that drop at the shot were either hit in or NEAR the CNS or a major skeletal structural area, like shoulders or leg bones.. I butcher all of my own game and enjoy studying the terminal effects...A bullet passing close to but not breaking the spine will often drop an animal from hydrostatic shock ( such as a high lung shot) and the animal dies from blood loss from the lung shot before it can recover from the shock

Firing back..? Seems like you are the one who has busy running his mouth on this thread... And for your information, sonny boy, I was bowhunting for years, probably many years before you were born, and I never have owned a crossbow, AND it's been years since I participated in a deer drive. However, driving deer is an effective and legitimate method of hunting when done properly and safely. I can remember when nearly everyone drove deer. And don't talk to me about not being in the woods. I've been in woods you've probably never DREAMED of...

Overkill ? No more than some shotgun slugs.. I never tried the TC Maxi-Hunter, but I have shot the Maxi-Balls and the NE bullet loads easier and shoots better groups in my gun.. I had use PRBs for deer for years in my Hawken with no complaints, but I wanted something heavier than a .50 cal RB for elk.. Once the gun was sighted for them, rather than change back to round balls, I just continued to use the NE conicals for deer...
