Looking forward to your pattern testing Bill...I hope they work out for you...

Me neither.... There is no size comparison...If it were big enough, it would look like bear poop...
-
Wolc.s Yorkshire terrier...

Back in it's heyday Seneca lake would beat present day Erie....Lots of 13-15" fish and some bigger ones..For years, the Gennessee fishing contest perch division was dominated by Seneca lake, with several fish annually in the 2 1/4 to 2 /12 POUND range... No more..There are still some jumbo jack perch in Seneca, and a closed mouthed group still takes a few big ones each year, but the fishery is just a shadow of what it used to be..

That's a collector's item sitting UNDER the hat, too.....<<sigh>>….
-
What do you like about them over perch? I like the flavor....Best tasting fisn in fresh water IMO.... Perch are wonderful too, however..
-
I know I am in the minority on this subject, but I prefer bluegills to perch...They are a little harder to filet...Nothing in the world filets as easily as a perch...

007 pronounced her name " poosie"......
-
" THUMPER"....She's one of my old girlfriends !! Does anybody know if she ever got over that embarrassing feminine hygiene problem ?

He may think you're cute, Bill.....

That happened to me many years ago...I did not have the option of carrying, being in NYC and in employ of Uncle Sam... Fortunately, a patrol car carrying not one but FOUR of Brooklyn's finest came down the street and rescued my sorry ass and my buddy... That was in 1971....I swore after that if I had any control over the situation, I would NEVER be in the position of needing a firearm and not having one.....

After spending most of my life living in the country without a neighbor any closer than 1/4 mile, I moved into town ( beautiful downtown Dogpatch) a few years ago.. The three things I miss most about moving into town are .. Not being able to walk out in my yard and take a leak whenever I feel the urge....Not being able to step outside my back ( or front) door and discharge a firearm whenever I want, and, most of all....NOT being able to have chickens...…<<sigh>>….

Might have been a late hatch, perhaps September ? A turtle hatchling wouldn't have much time to grow before winter, and he certainly wouldn't grow much during winter while dormant...
-
Hey...I'm 70 years old and on blood thinners....A punch to my head could be just as dangerous to me as a gunshot or knife wound... If I'm threatened, I WILL defend myself with whatever means available..'Nuff sed....
-
That must have been a hatchling from last year....Snappers generally lay their eggs around June and they hatch in July or august... I think their growth rate is slow also.. A newly hatched snapping turtle would be half that size..

I hunted deer for years with an 1100 20 gauge skeet gun with that a Weaver K 1.5 mounted in that fashion...

It depends on the store, Paulie... It is legal for us to buy ammo online or mail order, but many retailers won't ship to NY addresses because of Coumo's stupid " safe act"...g There have been a couple of threads on here about this..Maybe you can get some info from members here regarding what outfits will ship to NY...

I never have seen them locally.. I went up walleye fishing near Cochrane, Ontario a couple of different years...My host was a local guy from Cochrane, and he would set minnow traps in local small streams to catch minnows for the trip...They were mostly chubs and shiners, but there were always some sticklebacks mixed in... I used a few for bait, and they seemed to work as well for walleyes as the chubs and shiners..
-
Hey, Good Buddy Steve...I'll send you my address and phone number so you can include me in your will, should you be unlucky enough to kick the bucket before I do.. Stay healthy !!...Hey I have a good idea..Why don't you go down to Walmart and KISS a few girls this weekend ??

K.I.S.S. I have only used one scope on a turkey gun, which is a 1x4 x 20MM Leupold but there has never been any issue, and I nearly always leave it at 1X.. I shot a Weaver K 1.5x and a K 2.5X on several rifles and shotguns for deer, and never had an issue.. All had standard crosshairs and all were clear and bright under low light conditions.. Another good quality on a low power scope is most have ample eye relief, which is important with a magnum shotgun under field conditions..
-
Al's correct, it is a stickleback....Perhaps when you stocked the other fish ( perhaps the fatheads) there were a few sticklebacks in with them...No problem..They don't usually become a problem in the pond and the perch and crappies will eat them along with the fatheads..
-
And I BIT ??.. Exactly what were you trolling for ? Seems like I was doing the same thing...presenting a somewhat different perspective... Hehehehe...No matter..I'm going fishing tomorrow...

I have a 35MM photo of a grizzly track with my boot track beside it in fresh mud, which I took in Alaska in 1989, that looks about the size of that track....
-
It could very well be a real grizzly/brown bear track, which it appears to be by the size of the claws... Melting could have increased the size also..
