offer accepted, I take coffee and crumpets at 8am. I have a love hate relationship with hunting LI. love the amount of deer, but I hate that they hang out in all the private land.

thought it was 4 inches and couldn't be spring assisted. I have since only purchased full tang. prolly just down in the city. I was told if its longer than that then as long as you are going camping / hunting / fishing / Hiking (outdoor activity requiring use ) then you are good to go as long as you don't make and stops in between. technically I cant even take it in to get sharpened. which I think is dumb. oh but I can carry an axe around and be perfectly legal

Bullcrap. when I was a kid I wanted to eventually visit the pyramids and see all the great animals you can only see in Africa. As an adult in this day and age I settle for a nice zoo. no way in hell would I ever set foot in Africa or any country where death by the likes of Islamic fundamentalist is an everyday possibility unless I could raise my own personal army. if this guy dropped 350k on a hunt Im willing to bet he had people paid to guard him night and day.

funny thing is I have more luck seeing turkey when I hunt deer than I do turkey season.

So I head out turkey hunting and the wife has rearranged all my gear to fit her purposes. Great. Couldn’t find my thermacell or bug spray and its 4 AM, sooo tempted to wake her up. Go in the fridge grab some garlic and pray it works. Drive up to our hunting location and what do I see in the road… BEAUTIFUL turkey with roughly 10 inch beard, thing was HUGE jumped a stone wall and went into PRIVATE Land. Get out the car crushed some garlic and stuff a clove in each pocket and in my underwear (yeah I know) rub some on my face and neck, my hunting budy uses permathin (which I didn’t get around to doing) and looks at me like im crazy and asks if I had any marinara sauce. But by the end of the hunt after being SWARMED by mosquitoes I mean they were like a damn fog in one place we sat he got bit once on his hand when he wasn’t wearing his gloves I had no gloves and no mask and didn’t get bit once. LOVE IT. Though I smelled like garlic and even after a shower my wife still stayed away from me (another good use when she wants to argue) I didn’t have a tick or mosquito bite on me. Saw a blog about how you can put it in a blender with some water and use it as a spray. Gonna give that a try next. Course we didn’t see a single turkey in the woods, which pissed me off after seeing that great turkey coming in and a flock later going home hanging out on a private lawn. A great time was had and now I know for sure the garlic works. Still cant beat a thermacell though.

spent just about every weekend in the woods last year and never saw one using sawyers. didn't us it on the kids and tried some natural stuff cant recall the name but I pulled one tick off my son when we went through a rather thick area that had a trail running through it. I rub Diametric Earth on my dog before we go in the woods and hit them mid week if needed, love that stuff. keep some on me when camping and toss it on the ground under my tent and around the entry area not a lot just sprinkle it. My mom told me my grandmother used to keep garlic on her, so this year I been eating a lot of garlic (coworkers hate me) and gonna put a clove in my kids pockets and Maybe in there socks. hate using on the damn chemicals on them. Edit: Natrapel® 8 hour 6oz. Continuous Spray, stuff works but not for 8 hours like it says. id say maybe 3 hours of good protection if that. though we didn't have issues with mosquito's, I remember pulling one off my smallest kids neck, granted it was only once during the season.

tried them this year on my my compound, my wifes, and my crossbow. they didn't shoot like my field points, though they were not off by much and I guess I coulda split the difference but I went with muzzys and I love how they shoot. didn't have to move anything. Edit: also tried some mechanicals, field archer mentioned torrid SS, and MAN those things leave huge holes and again... didn't need to move anything.

saw a video of a guy using this recurve hunting, also had a hips blind. kinda wasn't sold on this seat as I just cant see it being all that stable and ordered one of those stadium seats instead and find it comfortable enough. wanted to get the HIPS blind but at 100 bucks I could make something myself

I wish i could tag out. Met a young guy at the range interested in hunting. Told im i would take im scouting with me and my kids. Need the extra time for soooo much and only one day to hunt

look for the dep sign, think its like yellow and blue. if you see it park there. you can usually tell other cars have parked there before.

Congratz, this is my second year turkey hunting and its pretty cool. last year I just picked trees and sat tiill noon. I would use my crow call, hear a reaction and then start in with my yelps. thought you were just supposed to sit there and wait for em to come In could tell they were a way off, some across some pretty rough terrain. next time I go out gonna try moving in on em just a bit really appreciate the story. one question, do you put your setup up every time you move? would have to be a real douche to give you a ticket. all the Dec I have come in contact with have been really cool, would chat me up and talk about spots I hunt and what they know of the area when I tell them im relatively new to the sport. I would have to assume that if you take on a job like that you have to love the outdoors and would be pretty cool with people who feel the same, especially in this day and age. .

I agree. But people get so caught up with color they fail to see there is a deeper problem in this country that everyone is feeling. Unrest in a nation doesnt just appear for no reason. Cost of a college degree has sckyrocketed Middle income jobs are harder to come by Government is letting attrition eat away at jobs which im not opposed to but has no roadmap for the future that i can clearly see Pisses me off to think about the future. Sad to say all i feel i can do is prepare my own children for it. Problem is something inside eating at me. Always heard it Takes a community to raise a child. Guess thats gone out the window
