Good luck friday. Im pretty new myself but from what ive seen once u give it a few days they are fine

So I get home im tired and MOST of my stuff is in the car ready to leave the next morning. The wife wants to watch a movie... fine. don't get to sleep till 11 or 12 get up by 3 am. buddy comes over puts his stuff in my car and we are off. drive two hours to a spot I been wanting to hunt for a year just to find I left most of my stuff home.I have everything except my clothing bag and all I have on is a tshirt... great. buddy gives me his plaid shirt that is to small for me but I squeeze into it... meet some nice guys going in and one of em tags along with us as it was his first time hunting the place. Now even though I looked like a hiker I had the best hunt to date. bumped two deer that had to see and hear me coming but let me get so close to them they scared the crap outa me when they decided to move. Then around 2pm being pissed I decide to just call it a hunt. so I get down and pack up my treestand and take a quick scout with one arrow. bumped two more deer. got snorted at by another deer behind me and when I got back to my stand there were maybe 4 deer by my stand WTH, been sitting there all day and now they want to show up. 4 run 1 comes back to eat the berries and I stalk within 20 yards of him, he spooks and runs away. lesson learned... even if your in a bad mood stay in stand. had I just stayed in stand an hour more I woulda bagged a deer and been eating steaks right now

I work in a VERY liberal office, have arguments all the time about various topics but hunting isn't one of them. Id wear a hunting hat to work in a suit if I pleased and no one would have anything crazy to say about it. mind you I know there are people on my job who are opposed to hunting and I keep the convo to a respectable minimum about hunting, they say what did you do this weekend I say I was out enjoying nature hehe. but even the ones who say they kept deer as pets ( which i think is wrong ) respect the fact that i hunt, especially when i say i love the meat. course up until now its been hookup and farm raised venison. this post is making me want a nice juicy steak. gotta bag me a deer

its a toss up for calling in time. just like he managed to get to your property he could get to someone elses and lay up in some thick stuff to die slow. lets say you call after and get a prick who gives you a ticket. I agree it was the right thing to do though

Love the roller idea. And yup i was checkin it out. Bumped a crap ton of deer even with the kids. Course i entered from south east and worked my way up. Tryin to get familiar with the placr. Sprayed us all down from head to toe and they wernt on or skin so much as our clothes. I got chiggers the first time i went in the woods walkin through knee high brush man experience is a heluva teacher. Since then i use permethin and it works wonders. Spayed deet and it does not work as well on cloths it seems. Will be treating our hiking gear with it as well as my hunting gear from now on

Why in the world does long island have so many ticks, I mean this is ridiculous. I have never been covered in so many ticks before. took my kids with me over the weekend to do a little scouting and MAN they were everywhere. I been upstate and never seen nothing like this up there. now I see why they have all those stay on the trail signs up. to bad the deer don't know how to read.
