  1. Depends on his age, a young buck probably stupid enough to come back. 4.5 or older is goneeeee
  2. Same, but only 8 hours while working. Those things save our asses.
  3. Hate those lil bastards, I spray my clothes way more that required all season, spray my truck and car seats too. I keep tick pullers everywhere.
  4. I’ll have 6 rounds in the ar-15 6.5 Grendel ready to go. yes, 3c zone. Just an awesome piece of property, 133” deer was taken with bow, 2 years ago I got a 128”, and this yeah I have 5-6 shooters on cam and hit one of them in the backstrap trying to shoot an xbow out of a shadow hunter blind. 300 acres of no hunting on one side, town on another side, heavily pressured on the other, and this property is thick, primarily bedding 60-70 out of 100 acres.
  5. We’re gonna drive the crap out of some river county property thanksgiving morning. Brown and down, heading to pa Friday for the rifle shit show all weekend and Tuesday.
  6. 30 acres ain’t gonna hold does. Not the numbers we’re talking anyway. It really depends on your surrounding properties, I shot 4 does off my 40 acre property last year, friend shot one, dad shot one so 6. We saw WAY more bucks and mature bucks this year and still a healthy amount of doe. Only took one this year but I’d shoot another still. We’ve taken 4 bucks there this year. Neighbor has 160 acres no one hunts, other neighbor has 40 no hunting, neighbor across street has 40 and only shoots 3.5 or older bucks. Last neighbor shoots anything that moves but only in gun season and they spook them all off their property on first weekend.
  7. Walk away, nothing worse then a neighbor who doesn’t like you.
  8. When your doe to buck ratio is too high, the bucks don’t have to come because they barley move to find a doe.
  9. That’s a low hit, if that’s your bullet hole no way would white hair fly.
  10. A semi 12 would be your best bet, they kick a hell of a lot less. 20 ga steel is rare because even 12ga steel sucks.
  11. Not really weird, happens every 5 years. Gun opens 21, 20, 19,18, 17 or 16 usually rotating backwards, sine this year was 16 we go back to the later date and start goIng down each year.
  12. Gun always 3rd sat, crossbow is only 2 weeks before that not nov 1. Just take extended weekends instead of big chunks of time off, I find that 4-5day weekends work better for me and get burnt out less.
  13. Good idea, gonna start writing them down.
  14. Don’t use scent much, have had good success with grunts bleats and rattling. Although this year had my bow 10 come to a drag of black widow dominate buck and xxx extrous.
  15. Leaving the meat in the fridge a week before freezing it has the same effect I’ve found. I let them hang if I can 3-4 days is ideal for me.
  16. I pull mine for gun, deer are too spooky and are in thick stuff. And also that’s when they disappear.
  17. Food grade, sams club has a restaurant section with food grade bowls, knives, cutting stuff at very reasonable prices.
  18. The totes are necessary if you process your own! I get mine at sams club.
  19. Ain’t no chance I’m going out in this crap, good luck all.
  20. Gonna skip the morning hunt and can some meat, go out with dad and my son in the evening. Neighbor signed over a 7s tag so I can hunt for something besides a bear.
  21. Nice! I’m also out of my 5 tags, gotta get the neighbors doe tag so I can hunt more!
  22. I boil, pressure wash at car wash with soap (wear rain gear and goggles) the. Pick clean. Use 40 volume mixed with quick white from the hair store. Cover in plastic so it didn’t dry overnight. Rinse off next day and let dry in sun or by fire.
