Terrible...getting divorce before next season.
-
Yep...Thanksgiving and it disappeared from the news...you're good.

Tomorrow is my first chance to start the rifle season. Hunting through Sunday morning. I laugh at rain...best time to hunt, as mentioned in previous posts.

Guy probably ran off to find the Italian food channel babe to cook some chops for him.

I let a piebald 6 point walk 35 years ago. Someone told me that they were not good eating...live and learn.

I have witnessed the 4 wheeler push several times near where I live.. It's known as the "Franklinville 500"...And on opening day....sad.

We have a neighbor who may be able to assist us in our project. I also reached out to the local QDMA rep to get advice also. We shall see...spring is right around the corner...I think. -
Anyone following this Ferguson stuff going on?

Anyone who feels oppressed can always buy a one way airline ticket out of this country and leave on a jet to somewhere...don't really care...just go. -
Got all the info I needed from these sites...thanks.

Wondered if anyone with boots on the ground in the North Java area can give an estimate of snow depth in the general area. Hate to drive up and have to turn back due to excessive snow pack. Thanks.
-
...lot of little hunters to pop up in mid summer, I presume.
-
Just 3-4 inches of snow here in Allegany/St Bonaventure area...we are fortunate. Our turn will come ...

Looking to purchase simple equipment package for our club. Land was cleared several years ago. Ph samples taken and need to lime. First and foremost is to kill the grass/weeds. Next is to purchase not only a quad ATV to pull the device, but also buy equipment to disc and cover seed. Wondered if anyone has had the experience of using the above mentioned piece of equipment and if it or another piece of equipment is better. maybe an acre max to plant...clover if nothing else.....we're all out of towners and find it hard to get to camp and tend to things. Thanks.

Get it...use it..no question.

The Monday report is: Monday arrived at camp for warm sit in the afternoon- saw nothing. Tuesday out the door for an even warmer sit in AM and PM- saw nothing...did get a sun tan. Wednesday saw Ricky Raccoon and nothing else. Thursday morning passed on small buck while on the ground at 10 feet. interesting encounter. That is all.

And I used to complain 30 years ago about the occasional wild dog that would chase deer around...and the one that wanted a piece of me...now the coyotes seem to be running the show.
-
We used the stepladder to install posted signs...funny, the signs do not get removed as easily. We still have trespassers. We shag them out when we encounter them.
-
Personally, I want antler development...the meat will follow. Case in point, today I passed up a 5 point at ten feet...I really want a good buck, although if the 5 point was a good doe, I would have had deer chops this evening.

Your humble Monday Merlot Reporter finally heading out to camp tomorrow. Will hang out most of week or until I either fill a doe tag, buck tag or both( yeah right).

Manhunt in Pocono Region of PA. No Hunting ?
Merlot replied to pawle76's topic in Out of New York Hunting
If so, Obey the directive. No sense getting caught up in the situation. Let law enforcement do their job. -

Cabin, maybe it's just as well to have your daughter sit on the ground in a makeshift ground blind this year, until she gets a little seasoning on hunting. A lot to think about for a youngster just getting started in a tree stand with a weapon of any kind. No disrespect towards your training of your daughter, but maybe it's just better for now to have her on the ground for now. Just my opinion. Good luck to you and your daughter on the hunt this season.

Funny, about to go out the door to buy a small freezer. Can you tell me what make a freezer that failed? Was it just a matter of an old freezer finally failing or something else. Just wondering.
