Never give up. Can't harvest a deer in your truck/living room. Stick it out until dark.

Expensive yes, but I had to upgrade my hunt outfit ten years ago and bought weather resistant Browning bibs and jacket with removable inner insulated lining. Pretty versatile, but cost $300. But I figured it would be my last outfit. So if I get 25 years out of it, It cost me 12 to 14 dollars a year. Not too shabby for being warm and dry.

Although I live in the southern tier, I choose to not wear any camo...prefer a low profile. I see many hunters wearing their camo jackets all winter with back tag attached buying food and beer while smoking. I know people are hurting financially, but they sell jackets/coats cheap at thrift stores.

always enjoyed Bocce club pizza in Buffalo area...Make my own now where I live.

All day sit on opening of deer rifle season and that's about it for me. As Doc says, I can get a little bored sitting all day. I do the morning, head to camp for late breakfast, take a nap, do a chore or two around camp, then head out for PM sit. No doubt missed out on a few deer, but not out there to kill myself.

Although tempted, I have yet to purchase the under armor underwear due to the price tag. I have been reasonably comfortable and satisfied with the Cabelas brand of underwear for years.

Just heal up and get ready for next season. I suppose you can still sit and take photos of wildlife as they pass by your stand.

Call the DEC first, get a ruling from them. Understand where you are coming from, but do not risk some sort of fine.

Bowteck Justice, vintage 2005. No change yet for me.

Probably would have checked out each device to get a feel and made a choice between the x-bow and compound. Would have been nice to have the option to choose over 40 years ago. Too late now... As it stands now, I will keep on truckin' with my compound and maybe switch over to x-bow when the technology of the x-bow allows the weight of the x-bow to come down a little...the very few I have picked up seem too heavy to carry around right now. Just my opinion.

I'll never , ever bait for deer . Just something I will not do. My Father and my uncles would turn over in their graves if I did such a thing. Sickens me when I see an alleged hunting show and the " famous hunter" harvests his/her deer over some mineral out of a bag....The one guy and his kids that use that "c'mere deer stuff...just sickens me. Of course, they're millionaires, but they can keep it. I prefer to do some homework and harvest a deer every 2-3 years and be thrilled about the accomplishment.

Maybe you need to check with frequent contributor, "Ants" on this one...LOL

My fathers Dad used to eat raw hamburger with salt with his buddies in south buffalo in some saloon. I understand it was quite a delicacy back then...but not for me. guess they didn't discover fire until much later.

Had a number of Genny's going way back to my Cheektowaga days...pretty cheap as I remember.

Perhaps your wife still thought the bow season opened on/around Oct 15th and hasn't caught up with the regulation changes.

Hitting brassicas already!

Perhaps the deer know something about the upcoming winter that we don't know about...Fattening up. -
As long as there isn't a hurricane involved, I can deal with the cold...

Wonder if she would let you check her gas gauge, just to see if the tank was on "E"..
