A smasher!
-
Now that would be an interesting mount.
-
Offer money in your correspondence with the owner. Cash is king these days.

nice job. Must have an understanding spouse to be able to spend time on a project like this....or single.
-
I get that stuff occasionally...I just delete it and move on.
-
I bought a few items there. Nice to pick up stuff in places like this.

Coffee hasn't kicked in. I should have said that NYS should come up with a new tag that can be worn around the neck and abandon the old back tag method. Coffee please...shaken, not stirred...
-
Yeah, I know...my wife says the same thing.
-
Just wear the tag around the neck, then if someone wants to see your tag, just whip it out.

For those of you missing hockey right now……..

From a suffering Sabres fan, congratulations on the Rangers getting to the finals, but hockey in June is WAY out of line. Another 6-7 weeks and the NFL training camps open. Oh for the good ole days of hockey wrapping up in late April....Cut teams in playoffs down to 8 from 16 and I may get interested again. -
Get ready for more gun control BS......

First, Pelosi will come out with a statement, then wing nut California governor, then Cuomo, then the Sunday talk shows, then Obama. Prayers for the victims and families of this senseless tragedy. -
I think I'm in trouble...

I have known a retired D.E.C. boss for a few years, so I worked up the nerve to ask him what to do with the horned owl. He felt that I was in no real trouble, and placed a phone call to a local DEC office. He spoke to a couple of officers, explaining my situation on how I came about to possessing the owl, and told me that situations occur like this from time to time and that the D.E.C. would be happy to take the owl off my hands. The retired D.E.C. boss will take the owl off my hands and take to the DEC main office in Buffalo for display. If anyone is ever in the Buffalo office, maybe you can look for the owl and remember my concerns on how to handle my situation. Thanks for your feedback on my situation. -

She was the congressional representative of the 27th district of N.Y. Cathy Hulkul, democrat. She lost to Chris Collins. Funny how these unemployed socialists always find themselves back in the political arena. -
Can the weather, that is extreme cold winter weather, kill off a good percentage of the critters? If ground is frozen, then they either move on or expire.

I plan to start perennial growth from the start

I scraped off a couple pitchers mound sized areas for quick food plots. Ph good. decent sun light. located in hardwoods area. Will throw and grow take root in this environment? Not much time for driving back and forth to tend.

Had an encounter with a pheasant on the 4-lane 219 near Orchard Park. Doing 60 and the darn bird decided to fly directly across my path...bird lost the duel. fortunately for me, the pheasant hit the passenger side portion of the windshield, hitting the curved area of the glass where the most strength was. Puff...lots of feathers.

Had I mentioned this before and caught your response above, I would have driven the owl to your doorstep. Our son graduated from SUNY Potsdam in 2012. Too late. LOL -

Agree with you on techniques used 60-70 years ago to mount wildlife would probably clear me of what I now have. This Owl mount has to be from the mid '40's, after my father returned from WWII. For all I know, someone in the family had it before my father did. I have looked for any markings indicating the person who did the work, but could find none. I would just like to donate to the local DEC office to add to their collection already on the walls without penalty. -
Been to park a couple times. Not my favorite. If you want a campfire, bring your own wood that has been kiln dried or purchase nearby. Swimming at Quaker and Red house lakes are nice. Prepare for crowds. By all means bring as much food as is practical, otherwise prepare for a drive for shopping in Salamanca. Bring electric fans to cool off the hot box of a cabin. Bring LOTS of ice for your coolers .Showers are available but not that great and inconvenient to get to. The place is just a hassle. Golf not cheap. Elkdale country club is good, but call ahead to see if course tee times are available. Holiday valley very pricey for golf. All in all, I'd rather have a stick in my eye than endure a week at A.S.P. If you can cancel, please do so and try to get a nice cabin at Letchworth State park. They have beautiful pools to swim in, great hiking, the sites are great. Better off getting a more expensive cabin and be comfortable...Keeps peace within the family.Good luck.

With my luck en route to camp, a state trooper will pull me over and ask to look for contraband. Discovering the owl, he would confiscate the owl, my vehicle, notify the DEC, question me, obtain a warrant for a search of my home, confiscate my guns, my merlot, and my first born, then fine me. I'll just stick it in my bunker and fugettaboudit....I do bring it out occasionally to scare the cats.
