  3. Take a bird seed bag and put all of your old plastic bags in it then sew it up and you have a great little target.
  4. I was out working one day and I hear this weird chirping noise and I found this guy. I left them along for nature to take it's course but it looked like the snake is having thanks giving. I think this is also a tree frog.
  5. I was going to ask what that mess was in the background??
  6. i LOVE MY MUZZY'S I hand sharpen mine all the time and they really bust through stuff. I am thinking about switching though. I want a heavier head some where in 150 grn or up.
  7. I thought I read some where that you can't put anything on your compound to enhance your vision or have lighted sights?
  8. There is another plant out there that has similar flowers to the giant hogweed. It is queens ann's lace. They also call it wild carrot. If you crush the stems or pull the root (which is a tuber and can be eaten) it will smell just like carrots. Queen ann's lace will usually have a black dot in the middle of the flower and it looks like a bug but is not. QAL is also much smaller. Giant hogweed is over 6' tall when it flowers and looks like a giant weed/flower(hence the name).
  9. Guys, You might not be in giant hogweed it is hear in NY but Wild Parsnip is very prevalent in NY and it does the same thing. It is a yellow flowering plant and gives you blisters just like giant hog weed. The sun reacts with the oils and burns you. I was lucky enough to have just gotten into some working a couple of weeks ago. The blisters feel just like a bad burn so it isn't nice and they always seem to leave a nice scar. Here is a link for you guys to check out. www.dot.ny.gov/dangerous-plants/wild-parsnip
  10. Just an old 12 guage. Not worth anything money wise but it is a gun a friend had so it has some meaning.
  11. I saw them the other day in the pet store and they are unbelievably expensive. I have old antlers around the house that I could make a fortune off of.
  12. I used the store bought blueing kit from dicks sporting goods. The directions said preperation is the key and they were right. I took 3-4 hours and steel wooled it and sandpapered in with a high grit sandpaper. Take your time and do it right?
  13. I keep mine strung all year. At least the ones I am shooting. I was told to keep them strung all the time if you are shooting them.
  14. I got this gun from a friend and it looked like he started to reblue the gun. I got it for 50 dollars so I Figured I would redue the whole thing from stock to barrel. Pics aren't great and the barrel didn't come out as clean as I wanted but I think it came out nice looking.
  15. My friends father was a moose same kinda thing he would pick things up when they were way to heavy for just him. He finally ripped his bicep muscle off of the connection. It wasn't the tendon but the actual muscle that tore away.
  16. They also say that the toxins get released if you try to pull them out with your fingers (because you are squeezing their abdomen. They say always use a tick puller or something that pulls from the head or where they attach.
  17. Hey I saw that on a buddies camera in Utica. They say a mountain lion can it a full sized deer every week. They are amazing animals
  18. In this one it even looks like the deer sees the U.F.O
  19. Hey how did you tan the hide. I have a whole kit to do one also but I lost the cape do to a freezer going out on me. I never got around to tanning it.
  20. Hey can i see a pic of the 30-06? don't really need a .300
  21. I was wondering how you guys cook them. I heard if you do it wrong you can chomp down and it tastes like pond scum?
  22. "A son you only have to worry about one D@#$ with a daughter you have to worry about them all." I know if I have a kid I would be blessed with a daughter just to get back at me.
  23. That is what I thought. I got mine and the references had to be in the same county. I might actually applaud them for doing that. Seems like a good idea.
  24. The pistol permit says a character reference in the capital district. Is it true you don't have to be in the same county?
