NJG People can be very critical take with a grain of salt and go about your buisness. Just learn from your mistakes and it will make you a better hunter and person. I have made mistakes and so has everyone on this forum. I would say post what you want just becareful how you word some things. Now get out there and shoot a bigger one at 10 yards.

I know the "big deer I have to shoot" thing that goes through your head. This should make everybody on this website say I would have waited for a better shot. in my opinion. We have all misjudge or shot and said never again. I just hope that he learned a lesson from it and can look back and become a better hunter.

- also would have tracked right away. This is also the reason I don't hunt in the heavy rain or snow. If you have a bad shot which does happen tracking is so hard even if you had a great shot the blood trails can suck and be hard to follow. Sucks not to find one specailly a big deer. Hope your luck turns.

They are some tough animals it might make it no problem.

I have always heard of the later. You can have ladder stands and hang on on state land but they have to be out by the last day of the season. Of course this doesn't ever happen.

The heart pounding and going nuts never leaves either you just have to controll it. That rush is what makes hunting so much fun

Cummins I sit in my tree and constantly repeat "pick a spot and only one, focuse steady arm and hold your position". I also sit in my stand and play through all the senerios ex. If a deer comes in from that brush and stops there I am going to pull back behind that tree anchor etc. I run these through my head because it gives me a jump on the deer, I feel. Kind of like practicing for a public speech or for a concert. I have missed deer and everytime I do it I think back and I shoot at the deer and not at a spot. You have to pick one spot and focus only there not anything else. Shoot and shoot more so when the deer are there the shooting is not thought about but just the shot placment and focus of not moving when releasing the arrow.

How big was the other deer?

Hey you forgot to put the deer in the pic with the scale! As far as we know you are wieghing grain bags. Had to bust on you. Great deer the body makes the rack look small.

Finally saw three they were booking through they winded somebody I assume. Couldn't get a shot though.

Liver is great slice 1/2 inch thick or a little thiner throw it in a fry pan after you've cooked up some onions and bacon. Yum yum. Good eats right there.

What area are you hunting in?

Sun has been beating on me for a little while got warm and took a 10 min nap. Wierd feeling waking up 18 feet in the air. Things seem to be calming down hope they come out for an afternoon snack.

In my stand snow coming off of the trees is rediculous. Saw some on the way in almost a shot at one laying down she got up and took off to quick. Hopefully she walks by my stand now.

Doing it a little different this morning. I slep in and am going to go out in the stand in a little while. State land I figure everybody will sit untill they are cold then want to see where they are moving so I will be on stand nice and warm when they are moving deer for me. I will let you know how it works.

I took a doe the first weekend and now I am run dry. I have sat in some good spot that I always see deer in and nothing. There is still some time soI hope that changes.

Snowing now in albany. Hope this gets the deer moving.

Breezy an overcast prefect for deer to walk by my stand. At least I am seeing squirrels now.

Nothing this morning. I haven't even been seeing birds. No squirrels to keep me occupied nothing.

It looks like it is writing over each picture. In the old days it would be called a double exposer (film days) I would say try a differnt sd card it might make a difference.
