No the bow is a martin vision. I started out with a Ben Pearson bow Loved that thing. It was a soverign Mace I switched it up because I was pulling 43 pounds at 29 inches now I am pulling around 51-53 pounds at 29 inches. Much flatter shooting and faster. This is my biggest buck with a bow out of state land. They are there and you have to really scout the place you are going to hunt find some nice thick places that it is hard to get a shot off. They are there.

Thanks for all the responses. How much of a pain are these beetles to keep around and how expensive are they to buy? A buddy said they stink real bad and the heads come out smelling awful.

Before the hunt the deer cart looks like this Then during the hunt A long 20 yard shot which it took her 20 minutes to break the distance to 20 yards I shoot and score. Then the work starts and the deer cart becomes full and very usefull on those long drags!! It turned out to be a good day second doe of the season and now with the freezer full I can go for the big boy or a decent deer. This is when hunting become so much fun you get to really try different stuff and learn new things because the pressure is off. Good luck to all those who are in the woods this year.

I have taken two doe so far so it is a good season but as for activity it has been slow the deer havn't been moving. I was sitting in my stand yesterday saying how it has been so slow then I saw the deer moving in and I got to take a doe. Made me much happier. The season can change in an instant you could see one deer this year and it might be the biggest you ever shot so keep your head up.

If you look hard you can find some base layers at sports stores that wont break the bank. I went to school for forestry and they made us buy something other than cotton because cotton kills or so they say. That being said I have a synthetic top that I use just a generic heavy synthetic long john top. I always where BUGZ SKINZ for cabelas for the tick issue then a cotton tee shirt then the synthetic top. That seems to work with just a light coat all bow season then when it turns cold I stick a flannel on then a sweatshirt and a big coat. That combo means no walk though to hot but I stay warm. Remeber layers for all day sits and don't wear too much walkng in and get sweaty that is a sure thing to be cold all day.

Shot at 300 today. took her forever to come in 20 yard shot 125 grain muzzy.

It all goes back to people being jealous of other peoples deer and thinking that they own the deer. Its sad and pathetic

Steve I guess I should have mention I do this in bow hunting. I hunt some private land durning gun but still walk in in the dark. I have a chunk of public land that is gun and but havnt hunted it in the early morns. You do make a good point though.

I have heard and read that you should rattle a little and wait awhile. Also when rattling don't bang the horns together over and over again bang them then clash and grind like two bucks are pushing back and forth.

Me either I am thinking I should have taken next week off oh well love being in the woods so it doesn't matter. I don't think I should be wearing camo though in this treestand a bathing suit and some sun tan lotion would do it!

I never use a light going in or out. I hunt a lot of public land and if you are in early enough you can see where everybody sits. I think it is funny. I see them pretty easily I would figure the deer can to. I am not saying it is wrong to do I just don't do it.

There is a little luck in any hunt if you connect. The only way you take that out is by baiting etc. I am not saying you do this so relax. Deer are unpredictable.

Just missed a turkey at 30 yards. Nice big hen. She jumped then stood there like something just happened. Huh then walked off.

In the stand one let me walk right up to it on the way in. No movment other than squirels. Nice morning though glad to be here. The owls were going nuts on the way in. Cool to listen to
