  1. I agree with the more meat when you do it yourself. It isn't the butchers fault either. THose guys freezers are so full if they took the time to make every bit count they would never make any money. I have been to a few butchers and they band saw the meat and I hate the bone dust. That is my reason for cutting myself.
  2. Pawly good observation. I would think that was the safest option then if someone breaks the rules they are out. Safty is no accident
  3. WNY that is qdma he is ugly must shoot now. Ask questions later
  4. Have a quick question i thought I have read in the regs that you can not shoot a bear with cubs in southern zone? Is that right?
  5. It is a good sign too if she is staying away from the hills another thing to say you hit it. I PM you also
  6. If the blood was bright red and bubbly I would say a lung hit. She probably didn't run that much farther after you spooked her. If they are hit real bad they will lay up again very soon. Did you mark the spot were you last saw her or found blood so you could go back?
  7. Forgot to ask did the blood that you did find have bubbles in it and a bright red blood or was it a darker blood?
  8. I would think that if she got up after a 45 minute wait that she wasn't hit in the lung maybe a liver shot. I hit a nice 6 point and got him just in the liver he ran like he was hit good. I got on the trail and jumped him the second time he didn't get up but was still alive so I put an arrow into him he got back up and ran another 60 yards. This year I hit a doe in one lung and liver and she ran 200 yard and died it was an hour long track job with little to no blood for the last 50 yards. I would think that a lung would have definatly put her down in an hour. I hope you find her. Where were you hunting?
  9. Great buck! I just hate to see a pic with they guy/girl sitting on the deer just my own taste in pics.
  10. Some of it could be from an injury with the velvet but if they are jagged I would think it is from fighting. Sounds like you have a good ratio of buck to doe and they are trying to prove who is the bigger buck.
  11. I love the "I thought" I don't know about you when I say I think it is deer I don't even raise my gun bow etc.. I was in a parking lot last night and heard a guy say I thought I had a good shot on the deer now I have to come back and track her. So I guess it was not a good shot. Never ASSUME you know what they say. DON't THINK ,KNOW.
  12. It would be interesting to talk to some people in person others not so much. I bet you would get a different aspect from everybody. The whole forum lets us get out what we want to say but hard to see the sarcasticness (word?) in the writing.
  13. It is all on how you are raised. I didn't have a game station until I was 13 or 14. When I got it it was so cool then it got boring and back outside I went. My grandfather was into football big time, I played little league for two years it was fun but didn't have any interest. I wanted to be in the woods. If I had kids they wouldn't get a game box until they were older and then I would still limit there time on it. We need to have a spine with our kids these days. Half the parents buy the play stations so they don't have to watch them. They can just sit them there and go about there business. I am glad to see that most of you are taking your kids out and it is awesome you will take their friends too I applaud you guys.
  14. Just saw my first sasquatch of the season. He was carrying a bow. Didn't notice me until he 20 yards out. Worst part he stood at the base of my tree stand mumbling in a whisper. Like I can hear that.
  15. Spooled 2 on the way in and have seen nothing since. Nice morning though.
  16. You guys need ar's out there stop shooting the little ones!!
  17. You hit it on the head from the story I red. He was at a bow shop the artical said bass pro and the guy who was helping him gave him a arrow that was two short. Goes to show you anything can happen anywhere specailly when you are least expecting it. I geuss it was his first bow too.
  18. I was thinking the same thing funny how she got it so think just on the tips. haha She at least looks good for the pic and no I am not trying to pics her up.
  19. Hey waitig payed off good for him.
  20. Dont just buy because ou want a new one. Use yours this year and start shopping right after season. That way you won't feel pressured to buy and you can shop around.
  21. Hey good job. At some time in bow season we all make a not so good shot the key was you kept on him. You got your trophy. I did the same thing anD the only thing I can tell you when you go to shoot tell your self to pick one spot the size of a dime right in the lung area and focus one spot and hold tight no movement. You want to be in the exact same position as when you pull back and anchor as when that arrow hits the target. Again congrats.
  22. I have a problem of my feet getting cold also. I found by accident that a pair of dress socks then regular cotton sock works the best for me. Even better are the second skin hiker socks (they are expensive) then a pair of cotton socks. I have huge pack boots that I ice fish with and my feet never get cold like that. Those boots however are not walking long distance boots. I usually carry them in then switch and sit(pain in the ass). Try to find some mickey mouse boots.
  23. Took a nice doe in partridge run on sunday. She came in at 15 yards. Got some meat in the freezer now.
