I don't understand why we are all after a huge antlered deer. They way you guys talk you must just cut the rack off and leave the meat. That is all you are after right? AR's should be someones own choice. These deer that run around in the woods are not mine our yours. No one should be able to say what we shoot and don't. We don't live on TV. -
Thanks guys, I have some meat in the freezer now. Steve you hit it right on the head using a long bow or recurve is a commitment and you hae to stick to it. I love the thrill of sitting there and having them just out of range and asking yourself what could have i done but when it all works out what a feeling.

I took this deer last night 10-16-11 with my martin vision. She was 15 yard out broadside. I one lunged her and hit her in the liver.

A buddy shot a nice 6 pointer and he watched him make a scrape before he shot him. So it is happening guys just give it some time all of the sudden you will see them hopefully!

Didn't get to do a live in the stand thread phone wasn't working but oh well. She came in at 5 and she was very spooky with the wind. I thought she busted me but she turned at 15 yards and I got a shot off. I one lunged her and put it directly through the liver. She ran 200 yards i thought I was in for a long track when I first got on the trail I jumped 2 other deer I thought she was one of them but it wasn't so.

I hunt with a long bow have taken some nice deer too. They feel like a huge accomplishment too. A lot of prep shooting wise though.

Bumped on on the way in the had a doe and fawn run by at 80 yards. Waited for that buck to stroll through afterwards but nothing.

How come these holidays are all for women. Or sort of molded about getting gifts for them. I think we should make a holiday in september call it some crazy name and mold it into somebody buying us hunting gifts. I would be down for that.

I have shot multiple times at turkey. You do have two tags after all. I know a lot of huters that small game hunt right up do gun season. I also heard about a guy that got caught with a gun shoT derr that he just stuck an arrow through for a cover up. Hopefully he was just smallgame hunting. -

Pushed 1 deer on the walk in been seeing squirrels avd that is it. The moon was ridiculous this morning. Starting to get breezy but it is beautiful. Now we just need the deer to cooperate

yeah I have seen them in a group running and pushing a doe around but never by themself like this guy. It was just cool to see the day before southern zone opener.

I can tell you what when you guys see the first pic posted of a nice buck you will be sorry if you didn't go out and at least try.

Just driving down the road and I saw a deer standing on a field road so I Pulled a quick u turn got back to him. When I pulled up to glass him he must have been a button buck or small spike but he put his head down and started running around like he was hot on the trail of something he ran around th field head down back and forth just like a dog. I would not have believed it this early if I didn't see it myself

It is never to early to spend all day in the woods. I love the waking Up of the woods but it seems in all the years of hunting I have shot 90 percent of My deer between 9 and 1. Even in early season it seems the deer are moveing then.

I am kinda suprised nobody has said the I get in 2-4 hours before light. That has to make for a long sit.

The guy I talked to says his phone rings off the hook non stop with calls. So john J has a ton of experiences and i would think he has seen a ton of different situations. I already put this book on my christmas list.
