And set up a fund for Madison Square Garden employees out of work, but I don't know details. -

For once I'm ahead of the stockpiling curve. Travelling pays off, I have a bottle of Proguanil pills here for anti malarial. -

I predict several more pages of upstate vs downstate for this thread. -
FWIW.... Scopes don't gather light, how much of the usable light is transmitted is a function of glass and coatings quality. Some red dots like Trijicon that use tritium don't require batteries; I put a Aimpoint away with the dot on my slug gun and discovered it 2 years later and its still works (battery life is 50,000 hrs.....5 years) Again tends to be function of price how long battery lasts.Imagine that? get what you pay for. LOL Very good primer on choosing and understanding optics on Optics Planet website.

Term is direct register, that is step with rear into the front track. Good judge of speed; the farther the back foot is ahead of the front, the faster animal is moving. But it also makes the track seem bigger then it is when they overlap. Done a bunch of tracking hunts in sandy soil, amazing what you can learn by animals print size and gait in a track.

I think my wood stock Blaser is suspicious of the Jarrett and I have to keep them on opposite sides of the safe; so they don't find out I cheat on both of them.
-
Interesting in that I have bought and sold a considerable amount also and sold exactly one ever FTF. Everything else on line via forum and gun selling sites. Even traded one towards most of a hunt in Spain; Biz would approve, it was a Weatherby.
-
I have sold a pile of long guns of various types to fund trips and other gun purchases. I sold a varmint barrel 223 rem to fund first safari trip. Wish I had sold something else, because it was first rifle owned. But I traded 7 others for the rifle/scope I took on that trip, best deal I have ever done. Shit that whole episode has cost ridiculous amounts in subsequent trips and I don't regret that either.

You don't drill and tap for a ghost ring, you replace the existing rear barrel sight. I wouldn't drill it either, that just lends to more/different options IF it was already done. Weaver rail, wtf, on a period gun? Theres like 50 better options anyway that'd look better.

Pillow case and an old shoe lace even cheaper. And can get a white one thats really dirty and it would be tan in color like the OP wanted.
-
Why don't you run a ghost ring in the rear dovetail (not a peep, larger aperture and I set it as a lollipop with the front sight to not obscure target) Run that on one 22 and easy to hunt with at 50 yds if you shoot both eyes open. Less than 20 bucks as Williams parts. Or has receiver been tapped? Also have a 1.5-5x20 on one, and a 4.5-14x44 on another.

If you want to stay away from camo; I use a Osprey stratos 24 in solid green as a daypack. Fantastic back panel and shoulder straps and a good belt too. Weighs nothing, like 2.5 lbs or close. Panel loader with good compartment for jacket and rain gear. Built in stowaway rain cover thats very good. Also is a terrific airline carry on. Check ebags online; they send out good discounts in emails. I have a Badlands 2200.......well made and built for stout. But it weighs a ton ,way too big for day pack unless you plan on carrying animal out, but handles ridiculous loads. I'd buy a small bag from them if you want camo and need to buy from a hunting manufacturer. Myself I'm a looking for load vs weight and camo doesn't do anything for me.

Thats because this was shot in Indonesia, not Wuhan.

African Only thing that didn't make someones dinner table was the stomach/digestive tract contents......right down to the hooves. Heart.....dark spot just below fat line is first shot bullet hole (solid bullet, no expansion, no herd hunting so going for maximum penetration from any angle); think we had that a couple days later.

If this was some al qaeda attack, folks would be wrapping themselves up in the flag and be all in whatever it took and then pat themselves on the back for how "american" they are. How times change. -
LOL.....perish the thought Always have a bottle or two to pass along. Just weird year here, never cold really. No frost in ground, dug some post holes mid January in a t shirt. Forsythia already starting to flower.

Coarse grain more like beef chuck; grilled over coals from back strap, trunk, and dried. Trunk is considered the best, and often delivered to most important headman in area. Its good, bit chewy, strong flavor, although it reminds me of woodchuck. I've only had late dry season, never when grass was flush....that effects grass fed beef, I'd guess the same. Like the jerky best. Those are ele jaw bones in the background of that pic waiting for researcher to do data statistics on age, growth, and take samples for determining quotas for the area.

Most interesting? Salted buffalo stomach. Never got below 90* sitting out curing. The testicals cooked in butter were fantastic appetizer.

Good to hear some folks doing good. Worst season ever. Not even close. Too warm and aweful sap runs for both volume and sugar, pulled the plug a month ago. Took longer to clean up then it was worth even for just my own use. Up side, I'm burning the wood meant for the evaporator in the stove for heat.

Little Jet variable speed, a Nova chuck and a handful of tools. I think I turned first things at around 7 or 8 years old. Fun hobby and wood to turn is cheap and everywhere. Look how to "microwave dry wood bowls"

Check out Western NY Woodturners if you want to get a taste (My dad has been a member for a long time). Helpful group.... https://www.wnywoodturners.com/

They want to back tax on it..... So they mail everyone a check....they want 2000 and then 1000......and when you file taxes and if you made to much; they want it back. That congresswoman from NYC that was a bartender was on press today touting that plan. -

I see their truck doing early morning deliveries all the way up into N. Dutchess in Rhinebeck. -
In South Africa when you have a 'braai', that would be a BBQ/Cookout for us, they have a game that has championships called "bokdrol spoeg". Thats taking a dried up kudu or impala poop pellet (about the size of a deer pellet) and see who can spit it farthest. Its huge there, everyone knows what it is; every SA camp I have been in goads the clients into trying it. We should start a league here for the folks who are home.

3X a year, Wahl with the #4 and done. Do it out in the yard with no mess. 20+ years.
