Dr. Bronners is a very popular brand; found in many grocery stores. It is a big hit on the campers/backpackers list because it lathers and rinses clean even with very cold stream water. Thats how I came about it; but now I use it everyday.

read this article; https://nypost.com/2020/02/14/alex-rodriguez-emerges-as-potential-mets-buyer/ Wilpons tried re negotiating for more money after they agreed on a plan with Cohen. “No chance A-Rod pulls that off, especially with Steve Cohen still out there playing safety on this thing,” said one banker familiar with Cohen and the deal. “This auction will not get close to $3 billion, and it will be lucky to get over $2 billion. Steve knows that, he’s talking to people and he’s waiting for the Wilpons to come back begging for $2.6 billion and no five-year window.” Cohen declined to comment on the notion that he is still actively monitoring the situation, but one source close to the $13 billion financier made it clear that he would not be involved with the Mets auction and “refuses to be used as a stalking horse” in the process.

No worries, drive an hour to JFK and we're on our way. I'm itchin' to go back and need a boat partner.

And this article is poorly researched as Global Entry is one of several Trusted Traveller programs , not addition too. "Global Entry and Trusted Traveler programs that allow US citizens quicker re-entry after traveling overseas." See here;https://ttp.dhs.gov/?utm_source=search.usa.gov&utm_medium=search.usa.gov&utm_term=undefined&utm_content=undefined&utm_campaign=(not set)&gclid=undefined&dclid=undefined&GAID=558077476.1581562692

Global Entry is for international travellers and requires a valid passport to apply. Its not a domestic travelling program. And you can still fly out of NY, just not take expedited lanes in customs (which is only international travellers) There is so much traffic out of JFK for overseas business, I don't see the backlash lasting.

I live near a place where motorcycles like to stop. I always pull in and back my Honda right in line with them and give them a "good day for a ride, huh" And I do that stupid hand wave thing that motorcycle folks do when they pass each other.

Sweeet.... Bought my ride from another member here...... 34 MPH (with some down hill assist)

FYI for around $6 you can get 30mm to 1" adapters for either size tube.

So you think you know coyotes in NY? Do you?
Dinsdale replied to Rattler's topic in Small Game and Predator Hunting
Pffft..... Rookies. Really the amount of wildlife in this state is getting totally out of hand. We should get the Gov. to pass some laws. -
I got a fair guess at "A" and only because I'm a Africa nut. Golden Jackal Its not a Black Backed (I've taken and photographed those, not enough distinct patch of black fur on back, nor is it a side stripped (only see 2 of those ever) But has a white vertical behind the shoulder common to jackal (good aiming point in low light for behind shoulder) , Big ears, Bright white under muzzle. I always feel jackal more like Western Coyote in a lighter build and more fox like narrow face. I think they are actually classified as "Golden Wolves" now. Do I win?

Great to hear your experience. I have been an instructor at one of their stores and most of the folks on the floor actually do activities in the outdoors not just talk about them.
-
What? The local building inspector on here? You nervous?
-
Fixed it.

Think about where you want to put it and you can open the door and end fill it 90% and only throw last stuff over the side. Most folks can't fill a dumpster and end up with mostly air, knock everything apart that you can.
-
The report I listened too said the guy took refuge behind a door and the crossbow bolt went through one dogs neck and then through the door. Also that the 2 dogs had issues before with aggression prior to this incident. I have a rescue pit. I blame the owners.

If you end up in Queenstown try Rata or Jervois Steak House for meal.... Do jet boat ride, but the one you need to take a bus too, not the one that docks right in town harbor..... Fiordland worth a trip on South Island also... Have fun.

Found the link to the 2015 management plan that has a brief history. Cool story that after 43 transplants less than 10 years later had a trappable population in place. The 'Henry' cited in the text is former Region 3 biologist I have had occasion to talk with, has some terrific stories of the "good old days". Fishers were extirpated from large portions of New York, with the exception of the Adirondacks in the northern part of the state (Wallace and Henry 1985). The Adirondacks remained the core of the species range in New York until a restoration program was undertaken by NYSDEC in the mid-1970s. Between 1976 and 1979, 43 fishers were live-trapped in the Adirondacks and Vermont and relocated to suitable habitats in the Catskill Mountains (Wallace and Henry 1985, Lewis et al. 2012). Department staff monitored this newly restored population through track surveys, observation reports by trappers and other members of the public, and reports of road kills and other mortalities of tagged animals (Wallace and Henry 1985, Brown and Parsons 1983). By the mid-1980s, the population was secure enough to sustain limited trapping opportunities and the first season in the Catskills opened in fall 1985 (Wallace and Henry 1985). As populations continued to expand, additional seasons were opened in fall of 1988 in the lower Hudson Valley in an effort to gather biological information such as age and sex composition and harvest densities. By fall of 1989 fisher seasons encompassed much of eastern New York, including all of the Northern Zone, the Taconics, Catkills, and Hudson Valley (except Rockland and Westchester counties). A trapping season in the Mohawk Valley was opened in 1990, and the season has remained consistent across northern and southeastern New York since that time. Reintroduction of Fishers into the Catskills was a DEC Region 3 project undertaken by several of their staff . From that population they spread west and even east across the Hudson River (I have fisher in N Dutchess as result of that initial program)

This isn't new and dates back several years. The idea was to open parks normally closed after sundown. A Hudson Valley astronomy club regular meets at a park near me after hours and they use a similar system .Park is down in a bowl and allows for some of the light pollution to be blocked. Ever get a chance, go; these just aren't your basic telescopes. Some folks show up with computer controlled set ups that show some amazing views. And the coyotes hardly attack at all when you're out there.....on occasion one or two here and there dragged off screaming into the night.

In NY your not a poacher if you have that situation. You're allowed to protect animals and property legally. Just have to understand the definitions of damaging and its quite clear and I have shot several coyotes right next door to a DEC officers home when I had cattle (and new born calves).....no issues what so ever. I kill squirrel year round damaging my syrup lines without question. The whole troll thing makes you look foolish...... -
I have a couple year old Cabelas roll top with backpack straps, large (might even be the xtra lg?) I 've used a few times on trips to Canada. Flawless sitting out on dock waiting for planes, in swamped boat, etc. You can have it for cost of shipping or take a ride down the Taconic to State route 199 in N. Dutchess if you want. I have a few of the smaller ones too IIRC, I might keep one. Bought a chest style boat bag from Basspro last year and it works OK: but (and its a big but) the zipper is not waterproof and the flap has to be down around the top or it leaks.....to me its useless design. worked ok in a few amazon downpours and water in the bottom of boat, but waves over the bow made it a tank of water with lure boxes floating around. POS.

Did a book report on that in high school; there has to be countless movies and tv programs based on that piece! Found it online; https://www.classicshorts.com/stories/danger.html Classic fits the site, lots of good reads there.

Got to do a dangerous game hunt; they're the best. Worth every bit of effort.

Here are a few leads of folks who provide this type of service, they frequently advertise in SCI's publications..... Lolli Bros 660-385-2516 Trophy Room Liquidators 512 626 8824 Giguere Auctions 207 892 3800 I've only know of Lolli Bros taking a entire trophy room for cash.(60+ mounts) Taxidermy is not an easy sell, don't get your hopes up. Awesome is in the eye of the beholder and even top quality mounts are often dumpster material. The usuals like decent Moose/Bear/Deer sell OK as decorating items. Not trying to be a pessimist as I have a few more mounts then most, but I'm realistic in that they only mean something to me and they are an awful investment.
