  1. Sounds like the start of a "Is A 223 Big Enough for Black Bear" thread.
  2. Best place I have ever been for that is Barcelona,Spain. All kinds of talent on display; some of it very good. Many of the musicians had CD's for sale. Second best place is any intersection in Southern Africa. Carvings, handcrafts, food stuffs for sale, firewood; but they give you something for the money and not just begging. Last trip gave a kid $2 US and got a drywall bucket full of fresh produce for camp, and he was running down the road to show his mother what he made. I skipped the fresh roasted field mice on a stick.
  3. Got to keep positive. Nothing in hunting is a slam dunk.
  4. Shot a 300 BO with a can that a friend owns. I'd have to buy one of those automatic progressive presses to keep it fed, just loads of fun.
  5. Best baited hunt I ever did, I killed 2 hrs before leaving for airport after a grueling week long marathon of hunting; was awesome. Hang in there and keep the faith.
  6. If my dad knew how much it was he wouldn't have gone; but I had to give my mom paperwork with airlines etc. I was at there place doing a gut/remodel job on their master bath, and dropped it on them to start packing last day when finishing up. Maybe 4 months out or so. My dad tried for weeks to cancel, but cruise line wouldn't let him because of my card being used and my mother hiding the paperwork. LOL I'll say this; cruise lines was awesome. Special dinner at captains table,Cake, Champagne, Flowers for mom when boarding, Photographer/prints all complimentary because I told them why I was booking and packaged all the excursions, air, hotels with them. congrats on 56 years.
  7. Sent my parents on a similar trip for their 50th wedding aniv.; they had traveled a little around New England and to see family in Vega but never much else. Never stopped talking about it after they got back. Have a good time.
  8. From what I read, she wanted to use the ladies room; but had been in the store before and caused problems and they said no. So she blew her top.....errr, load?......and was arrested.
  9. We have a few PA hunters here, new rules https://lancasteronline.com/news/local/pa-hunters-barred-from-bringing-whole-deer-back-from-maryland/article_7f8a3e02-5ba7-11e8-9819-db5416a9049e.html
  10. Bottoms up https://www.worldwhiskyday.com/when-world-whisky-day/
  11. I won some tickets from a Toronto radio station from a guy who hosted a blues show on Sunday nights for a unknown guitarist who was a real up and comer at the time according to him(He was also a blues guy from TO but don't remember his name). Told my parents I was going to Rochester as they would have never let me go to Canada with my friend, his Granada broke down on the QEW on the way home and his father had to come get us.LOL my parents never found out. Hell of a show also at the El Macombo; but not this video. For those who don't know that place is a club in Toronto that is legendary for the artists that had played and recorded live. When a bit older in university went to a pile of shows there. Ontario had a lower age to drink too, which was a big thing back then. Anyway a few weeks later he played a show at UB for Spring Break, and I walked over from my High School; and the only time I ever blew off class mid day. Couldn't convince anyone else he was worth seeing! Free concert, got some beer and was underage.....good times. I have some pics, but need to scan them; keep this thread bumped and I'll remember next time I go into town; I should do a bunch of old hunt pics too. EDIT: Anybody from Buffalo know that show from Toronto? could have been Q107 or 103.5 maybe?
  12. Better keep an eye out, maybe bring a shield of some sort. http://canoe.com/news/national/watch-b-c-woman-squats-poops-then-hurls-feces-at-tim-hortons-employee
  13. In a way, that's my point; they are the biggest advocate for gun owners and with that, I feel, comes the responsibility to make solid decisions based on a coherent thought out plan. Always seem to be reactionary IMO. And I'm a member, usually just yearly, started out when I was looking at gun clubs 30 years ago and all in my area require membership; although never did find one to join. Member of SCI too. So I believe that if you want to express an opinion, you should have a vested interest. I think if they had a better plan, they'd attract more gun owners; many of whom think idiots like Ted Nugent or convicted felons, are not the best faces of the cause.
  14. Rubbish. They have the numbers here but provide crappy LEADERSHIP thats more interested in double dipping their expense account.
  15. Early ice out fishing worth the trip. Anyone in group wants to try for whopper pike especially on a flyrod this is time. Been twice up in Quebec at ice out and killed em'.
  16. Good luck, bear with recurve would be special.
  17. You sure don't cut very many tracks in that area.
  18. I have a little tiny cast iron pan only about 4 1/2" with Cryillic lettering that came over on the boat with my grandmother. Was small enough to carry and cook for 2, her and her sister on the road in Eastern Europe. Cast cooks great, have fun.
  19. You could use a ratio of liked posts compared to total post count for a rating of just how much better you are..... Just sayin'.
  20. NY State has been enforcing NYC laws statewide and its been illegal to sell replica guns statewide for sometime....NY State sued a bunch of Amazon sellers; From about a year ago; http://www.syracuse.com/crime/index.ssf/2017/03/central_ny_toy_maker_among_6_to_settle_with_state_over_fake_guns_that_look_real.html
  21. Aside from hiring a criminal; One upside would be that the NRA actually did anything in this state using their own name and not hiding behind NYSPRA like they usually do. They raked in lots of $$$$ from NY membership increases after SAFE act, maybe they'll actually do.....well....anything here. But its the NRA so they'll tuck tail and run at some point. Lots of overlap with the SCI big wigs now who also make poor out of touch decisions based on $$$. Birds of a feather.
  22. Its just a media/ publicity position...Just like Charlton Heston and his, "cold dead hands" deal.....CEO is where the power is in the NRA and LaPierre ain't gonna give up his millions in pay and benefits. The former president was a businessman, and unless you bought from Brownells and connected the name, I'd doubt most members here even know Brownells as they cater to gunsmithing/parts and not hunting. They had been trying to get Tom Selleck for years to take a position, but he turned them down and re kindled his acting career.
