  1. Keepin' the thread alive; one post closer to another page. Don't think it'll rival the beer thread, but can give it a bash.
  2. I think last one I used was the Rustoleum/ Varathane "weathered accelerator" or something close to that. Fair popular now with the increase in wanting the reclaimed look with out the price; so there are quite a few on the market. Used the vinegar/steel mix to make a few boards to hide in when short on reclaimed for a job and came out fine. But I do this to make money and its easy for me to tell someone go to Home Depot and go buy me something in a can than run around and cleaning steel wool. (Paper coffee cup and some denatured alcohol or lacquer thinner rinse for that.)
  3. Strain the mix, on rough cut you'll leave particles caught up that will make spots. Use a solvent based top coat, water based will change the effect. I suggest you do some samples and let them dry completely and put a top coat on to see how long you want to let wool soak in vinegar for the stain part. There are several aging stains on market too(thats what I use)
  4. If you put in "root beer" in the search box at the top of the forum, it delivers 2 pages of results. Pg 84 "whats for dinner(in my browser) has a link posted by 'First-Light' to this recipe that I tried and it was good.... http://www.wideopenspaces.com/wild-game-recipe-root-beer-bbq-pulled-venison/?utm_content=bufferf5e1c&utm_medium=Social&utm_source=Facebook&utm_campaign=Buffer
  5. Link turned up in my email.Could have turned out bad, but got really lucky, first they tempt these cats and watch to the end......its not in English but you can get the gist of the guys watching this unfold. Lunch is served.....
  6. What are you planting? That forum could use some posts..... Just sayin'
  7. Holy smokes, and folks say Blasers are ugly. You got one of those lever guns too? Be careful they aren't next to each other they might multiply and inbreed.
  8. Put it under the car seat of someone you like.
  9. Leave it in a plastic bag for a few days and the core will come out. I de horned a few Holsteins and some goats with a burner; wooooo! STINK with the smell of burning bone and fur.
  10. I see Elliot Spitzer in a local store fairly regular getting coffee when hes at his weekend home. Judging by what he drives and the company he keeps (wealthy)......Looks like he is doing just fine.
  11. I did some browse surveys with a NYS Forester on several properties a few years ago over several days. Learned a bunch as it was very interesting procedure, and then to see generated results from the data as I was hunting some of the properties.
  12. This concept is popular in Scandinavia in the forestry industry; many incorporate a powered winch as part of the design. Jonsered's Iron Horse is one. The hunt clubs there use them with a sled to retrieve Moose.
  13. Its all good. Seat seems pretty good, but its a separate frame so it can be adjusted, thought maybe someone had one and tried it out.
  14. Ya; I have a Perception down river/white water boat......actually its a Dagger made at the merger and design was rebranded Perception in subsequent years..... Anyway its bomb proof and fast. Buddy won a national race in it in class 4 water. But it fishes terrible and I'm going to sell it for something I can use a little more.
  15. Anyone here fishing one of these? Likes/ dislikes/ experiences? Have one being offered at a attractive price.
  16. If I substitute "trophy hunter" for "elephant" you'd be surprised I think at the myriad of answers that folks would give as to why they are willing to hunt without being able to bring home anything but the "head" ( in full disclosure I'm one of them, no secret there). I always am and the answers are all over the place, and it generates interesting and often heated debate on forums that are skewed to those type of hunts. And for some reason there's always someone who wants to put it a quantitative number set. Worthless there too other than generating some discussion. LOL
  17. For context on the NRA stance, this has been reported; https://thefederalist.com/2018/05/02/dicks-sporting-goods-hired-four-democrat-gun-control-lobbyists-april-records-show/ Dick’s Sporting Goods Hired Three Gun Control Lobbyists In April The sporting goods store, under fire for refusing to sell rifles to anyone under the age of 21, is now officially lobbying Congress for gun control, according to federal lobbying activity records.
  18. Warm here today, felt terrific. A little of this on the rocks, strictly low octane stuff but I like it. mmmmm
  19. I use Sawyers on clothes and Deet products around home; but that Avon stuff will repel some nasties you find elsewhere that nothing else does, good stuff. Like the wipes.
  20. Didn't see this posted, delete if a duplicate.... Ammunition giant Hornady is cutting off government buyers in New York over an order by New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo to financial services companies regarding gun politics. Steve Hornady, the company’s president of manufacturing, announced on social media on Friday that the ammo maker will halt sales of their products to Cuomo’s state government or agencies in the Empire State. The move comes after an order directed by Cuomo earlier last month that cautioned banks, insurance companies and lenders against involvement with the National Rifle Association and similar organizations. Slamming the Governor’s move as one of the most “despicable acts ever perpetrated by any state,” Hornady closed the doors to the state. “While it may not make a difference to New York, Hornady will not knowingly allow our ammunition to be sold to the Government of the State of NY or any NY agencies,” Hornady said. “Their actions are a blatant and disgusting abuse of office and we won’t be associated with a government that acts like that.” http://www.guns.com/2018/04/30/hornady-refuses-to-sell-ammo-to-ny-agencies-after-cuomo-gun-initiative/
  21. This was a long long time ago.....early-mid 80's. Maybe our first year at UB? 84' That section doesn't look at all what it does now in general. Had a Tops market at N. Bailey, and a Hills dept store behind. Not sure if the elementary school was still on the corner standing empty? You the dude in the Vette? He wasn't much older than us.
  22. I did way more than that on Sheridan Dr in Amherst between Sweet Home and Nia Falls Blvd against a guy in a mid 70's Vette when young and dumb. I only know it was faster because that car turned some pretty impressive 1/4 miles on track and wasn't exactly a street vehicle technically. (Friends car) Vette missed a shift and was kinda surprised he lost......but we didn't get caught! Ahh, to be young and really dumb.....guess I'm not worthy either.
