  1. Give me permission to hunt it, and I can almost guarantee no one will see a deer on that property again.
  2. Like to see some actual "I flew with my $1500 worth of bow to my once in a lifetime hunt" reviews; rather than " took my uber cool ar 15 and all the cool crap going to a range" reports on amazon. I had some kind of tractor/fork lift/conveyor mark on my Pelican 2 years ago. Have no idea what happens to this stuff once in airport bowels and out of sight.
  3. Found a weight of 14 1/4 lbs.......thats less then SKB or Pelican by roughly 4-6lbs. Like you said, lots of positive reviews. My heavy duty aluminum and Pelican cases have a few serious scuffs, I'd like to see one of these Plano cases. Pad lock area maybe looks a little light IMO. But it'd be nice to trim some weight sometimes.
  4. Wow....that would be amazingly cheap for a Pelican anything.......got a link? Plano maybe? FWIW I'm using a Pelican 1720 for a takedown rifle and can fit my Hoyt inside; but I notice SKB cases have more width by a few inches for an easier fit. I hardly see any older style SKB "Hunter" cases with the exposed buckles on the flights overseas last few years and wouldn't go that way IMO.
  5. Send me a PM with address Dave, its on my old computer I had to retire; I'll mail those 277 bullets. I might have some 270 brass too, but not sure.
  6. Wisconsin study..... Some quicky google; https://www.bowhunting.com/blog/2016/02/08/why-do-bowhunters-drop-out-by-age-50/
  7. So.....did you pass? Are you toasting to success or drowning a sorrow?
  8. Yaa......WTF is that supposed to mean???? You wanna make something out of it???
  9. I know they hunt Roe and Red deer in Italy. Bob Kern did some booking there at one point. Good luck.
  10. https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/pdf/10.1080/11250003.2014.895060 Cervus elaphus Italicus Mesola Red Deer
  11. I can get you, you're right on the way.
  12. Holy crap; someone actually buying a ticket TO Buffalo. Wonder how many of those they sell a year?
  13. Here's one I didn't get to try, but would have liked too.... This is crew cleaning out the stomach contents of buffalo in my avatar. Sorry for dark pic, had flash off and we were a long way from camp and hustling along and didn't get chance for more pics. Here it is salted and drying at skinning shed. Supposed to be quite tasty sliced up and mixed with the corn meal( like grits) that is a staple eaten at most meals. This is part of payday for hunting crew......they get paid cash, corn meal, cooking oil, and dried meat both in camp and to take home. In this case its a front quarter of my elephant thats cut up. They'll soak it in water later and then cook it either in stew or grilled. We ate some flank it grilled; not my first time, its chewy but very good, beef like texture. Buffalo waiting for the days processing.....ate the heart(hanging on tree), and part of a back strap; rest went to anti poaching patrol and camp staff. Put a solid through heart on first shot and no bruising, just like an arrow cut.
  14. Horse, but it had a nice red wine sauce lots of root vegetables, so it could have been any red meat. Zebra is my #1 favorite game meat as a steak. Its sweet like pork, texture like young beef. Interesting this is a real hot and cold topic in camps I've been in. I believe many Boer (whites) hate it for the racial connection, but they won't admit that. Has fat the color of chicken that is very sticky, and needs to be trimmed proper, one of the other reason some don't like it. In Zimbabwe these kids sell field mice roasted whole on the side of the road at intersections; For rodents I have had Capybara in Uraguay; worlds largest rodent. Was good and tasty, similar to woodchuck. Vegetarian so meat is clean. Canine;Tried some backstrap from a Blackbacked Jackel......eh, chewy and gamey. similar to coyote in size and habits. Feline; tried some Caracal, like a warm weather Lynx, would have better as Chinese stir fry if you tossed the Caracal and ate the pan. Generally I don't like carnivore meats as they are full of parasites that herbivores don't have, I notice given the choice many even protein strapped locals don't like them either given a choice.
  15. Yes, my neighbor complains and there's not one thing that she can do about. I've had 3 different agencies stop multiple times(Sheriff,State,DEC), and I'm legal. Sheriff got so sick of her calling individual barracks direct they no longer respond at all. If you meet set back requirement. And you don't violate local ordinances like noise, no discharge. (no local law against for my town) The law doesn't care if I'm hunting(but have to meet those laws like a license and in season etc) OR I'm just clanging away. I've sighted a gun and killed a deer the same day on my place. Yes some State parks and certain classifications of State land that CAN be hunted, have no TARGET practice regulations, but its legal to discharge a hunting gun, or bow.
  16. Because I agreed with you? So I posted whats on their website and that makes it relevant to the thread. Sorry.....it doesn't happen often if that makes you feel better.
  17. What is PayPal’s policy on transactions that involve firearms? Personal Business We don’t allow PayPal members to buy or sell any kind of firearm, whether it’s in working order or not. The same goes for certain firearm parts and ammunition. For example, using PayPal, you can’t buy or sell: Any firearm, including rifles, shotguns, and handguns, whether they’re for sport and recreation, collectibles, or curio or relic firearms. Firearm parts, including but not limited to receivers and frames, silencers, and kits designed to modify guns so that they fire automatically. High capacity magazines, multi-burst trigger activators, and camouflaging firearm containers are other items in this category. Ammunition, including propellants like gunpowder or blank ammunition; ammunition or cartridge cases; and primers, bullets, or propellant powder designed for any firearm. Stun gun sales are allowed for U.S. residents, but only if the transaction is permitted by law in both the buyer's and seller's jurisdictions. (PayPal account holders outside the U.S. can’t buy or sell stun guns.) Before they complete a sale, U.S. sellers must make sure that the transaction is legal in both locations. Related items that you can buy and sell using PayPal include paintball guns, blank guns, and air-soft guns, as long as such transactions are legal in the applicable jurisdiction. All of these items must display the markings required by law, must not be convertible to shoot a lethal projectile, and can’t include blank ammunition. ^^^right off the web site; thought the same thing.
  18. Its easy, just need to test around deer farms, where else is it going to come from?
  19. I fished a bunch of water around Webster with a great uncle who had a place in Hillsborough as a kid/teen, hes who got me started in fishing.......nice area you are in.
  20. Nah.....its sitting right under the bill that is going to make a moose season.
  21. I've read that too.... I've only shot a handful of deer with mine(6) between 60-125 yds and haven't had an issue of any sort. Just my experience.
  22. The one I have is crazy accurate......Hornady sst. Good luck, enjoy.
  23. Holy chit.......thats the best f#$&ing fly video ever! I need more likes!
  24. This is just the hunting portion of take. When they incorporate deer car collisions, farm issues, carrying capacity/biologists, etc.....what DEC terms stakeholders......they use that total input to set tag numbers to reflect that info. Since they basically only have general hunting, DDP, DMAP permits to control population and general hunting is the biggest factor for take off.
