  1. For a sub gauge gun, that surprises me . 20,28,410 usually command a pretty good premium.
  2. And a conclusion to the story, the dentist hasn’t made out too well…. He admitted on the stand to lying in another legal proceeding involving safari club international, thats not too good for a defense…… DENVER (AP) — A wealthy dentist accused of fatally shooting his wife at the end of an African safari was found guilty of murder and mail fraud Monday. The verdict for Lawrence "Larry" Rudolph' came from a jury in a Denver federal court following a trial that lasted three weeks. Rudolph was charged with murder and mail fraud for cashing in $4.8 million in life insurance claims in what prosecutors describe as a premeditated crime. Rudolph maintained his innocence. His attorney suggested his wife of 34 years, Bianca Rudolph, shot herself while trying to pack a shotgun in a hurry as they prepared to return from Zambia to the United States in 2016. But prosecutors countered that evidence showed that was impossible because the wound to her heart came from a shot fired from 2 to 3.5 feet (1 meter) away.
  3. There are several on Guns International. Asking price doesnt mean value or selling price. 28ga ammo is stupid expensive right now, I'd buy it as i have a couple 28's, but you'll do better selling as an add on to a gun sale.
  4. I think thats in regards to the wood boiler and switching to propane and back. Mini split heat is all between the exterior compressor and then wall mount unit inside. Typically domestic water is in slab where its warm. In the end if your buying, a building inspection with the right company should answer many questions looking on site; good luck.
  5. Can’t stress that enough when living with radiant; you can’t be fiddling with the t-stat. Its a deal killer on efficiency. It saves nothing turning the temp down because it costs more to get back up then if you just leave it alone. I do have weekend clients who control temps via online; and for long term they turn down, and 12 hrs before arriving turn temps up. But that only pays for 4-5 days away or more. I never change mine, its been the same for 20+ years, even if I’m gone for a week.
  6. Translucent tubing is a PEX type product, no problem. Unless you drill a hole into the floor, those tubes will outlast the life of the house. Carpet is no problem, they’ll become warm, just like the laminate floor above them. Propane or natural gas is the standard, I do have oil boiler in my shop and its going this coming year for propane. Many jobs fill pipes with Cryotek, its an HVAC antifreeze. You can have it tested for concentration, as it breaks down over time; its a chemical treated paper strip you dip in the boiler water, reaction color tells the degree of concentration and the degree of protection. If off, the HVAC company take an injection pump with a 5 gallon pail, pull some old water out, push some new cryotek in and let it circulate. Roughly $150/ 5 gallon. That’s pretty new being 2009, who ever installed probably left a sticker with name on units; if I was buying I’d call see if they have been serviced if there are no hang tags with dates. Mini splits are also common stuff for air, some units act like a heat pump to add some heating, some just do AC.
  7. Unless someone got away with it, and it does happen, you cant build a house with thick edge slab in NY to code. Has to have a permitter foundation wall to a footing below frost. If its newer construction it should have appropriate permitter and slab insulation. I'd want to look at manifold where the radiant tubing emerges from slab to know what was used for tubing. Some older systems used a product called Entran by Heatway corp., it had warranty issues. My 3000 sq ft shop is Entran, i have been lucky no problems. My house is PEX, newer system, its also in a slab; thats about the best it gets. Radiant has the benefit of using the slab as a huge heat sink, and because you warm the space from your feet up, most run folks run a lower thermostat setting as the perceived feel is comfortable. On the other end radiant systems have long responce times, you want to consistently keep a setting. Once you turn down a temp, it takes a long time to get back up. Its always better for cost to leave it at where you are comfortable. I'm fortunate to run 3 zones in shop, so main space is warmer; i leave my high bay cooler as i know if im going to be in there welding, or spraying, i can turn it up in advance if i need too. Both my builds are super insulated frost wall, slabs, no crawl space or basement. They are very cheap to heat. Id never put up another building without radiant for myself.I build for a living, almost 35 years, almost every new build has radiant in my area. With the wall hung super high effeciency boilers around now, its very cost effective.
  8. P &G’s is good Bacchus Karma Road (also vegetarian) has been my recent place to stop when I have time. Next to rail trail and the brew place Chef mentioned) Bangkok Cafe ( very good Thai) Ipho ( good Vietnamese) Its a college town in every sense of the word, LOTS of places to eat.
  9. Funny add on I sometimes get a question about what’s in my gun case, usually on JFK’s Air Train. I tell them I’m a symphony player and carrying a bassoon. I just like the way it sounds, and its esoteric enough to get some interesting replies.
  10. On the travel thing I think Federal Law on interstate transport would come into play in a NY airport. Traveled out of JFK many times with bolt action rifle, and seen a fair bit of others with different types of actions; no problems at all (actually in the travel hunting world, JFK is a best kept secret)Transit Authority Police use my US Customs form 4457 for their paperwork, sometimes I have to explain not being from NYC I don’t have a license for a long gun. But its usually a pretty professional exchange. Frankly there’s been some real funny experiences too, never had a bad one yet. But the basic framework states its legal to transit a state as long as what you have is legal in both where you came from and where you are going.Airports are simply a transit, I don’t need a NYC license even though I’m in Queens. I often have to provide gun permit info for where I’m going, that might just be an application or a pre approved license. There’s isn’t anywhere internationally I know of that doesn’t have a firearm license requirement for everyone, the US stands alone in that as far as I have ever read. My issued license when “there” acts just like that of a non resident with a specific set of rules. And you need to follow them, its serious stuff. Sometimes each airline requires additional info; or transiting on a layover. Emirates was like that, Dubai Police are very thorough about transiting ammo and firearms. But when all is in order its a breeze, can even check location on a smart phone where your cases are located.
  11. Have to say I have sold on forums, gunbroker, and guns international; payment has never once been a problem. However gunbroker seems to be the bottom of the barrel for buyers at times. Stupid questions are the norm, "can i mount a bi pod on a this Marlin 336" Favorite way has been forums, have had more than one interesting conversation with a buyer, met a few in person later on and have done a little hunting too. Even bought one back that i kinda regretted selling in the first place. And no fees.
  12. First lawsuit is supposed to be dropped by Carl Paladino on Monday. This is going to be interesting....
  13. I'll take it. If you want a trade, i have 9mm,30-06,20ga sst, 20ga slugs,8x57,270,22lr both standard and minimags. Maybe a few more
  14. Asking a lawyer for the truth. HaHaHa I did a big renovation for a lawyer involved with takeovers. He would call the home office to give his hours to bill that week. It would add up to a 100 or more. Basically hed play golf with other lawyers and that was the extent of his negotiations. It was great, always got paid no questions, good client.
  15. You and me both. And I have never even seen a deer that would make any book when hunting.
  16. Not even close. Still have moms old set, although I’m down to one tea cup…… +1, that boy can cook!
  17. S 1.13. Fire resistant too. List all social media sites. Does this forum count? iv) a list of former and current social media accounts of22 the applicant from the past three years to confirm the information23 regarding the applicants character and conduct as required in subpara-24 graph What if they see an hunting report they don’t like?
  18. Remember this one? This is an old Lawdwaz gun. CZ 452 in 17. First kill.
  19. Many don’t really care. I always thought folks would jump at a chance to hunt somewhere else for different game. But the fact is it’s just not a priority for most. I’ve been doing a hunting and/or fishing trip for the last 32 years (missed 2019 due to illness,2020 because of Corvid restrictions). For me, its been a awesome time; but now I understand that its not for all
  20. I had a great first job when I was 13. Was groundskeeper for a little league. 4 boys 60’ diamonds, 3 60’ softball and one 90’ baseball diamond.Paid really well for a school kid. It was everyday after school, early on saturday’s and sunday morning to clean up the mess from the all day saturday games. Did it through high school when my gym teacher took the job at the end of my junior year thinking he could coast a day or two a week and make a couple grand for the summer. Then he hired me to help, and when he expected me to do everything, I quit. He was pissed. But to his credit; the following school year he apologized for stealing the job(it was promised to me originally that summer); and admitted it was way more then he thought for workload and complimented me for working that hard when I did it. Now here’s more of the story…..I grew up in a non hunting house and not much exposure anything hunting related. During gym class, we did an archery course for a few weeks using recurves, even hand an indoor range set up. That teacher was a big bow hunter, and I was one of the better shots in the class, so he let me shoot his compound. That experience, and having a co worker take me trap shooting; started me hunting in my mid 20’s. I’ll always remember him talking about hunting with his bow. I have no idea if he’s still alive; he’d be in his late 70’s now I’d guess. But he was from Buffalo area, I think west seneca/orchard park. So if anyone here knows Ron Tater, physical education teacher at Sweet Home High School in early 80’s….tell him Ive hunted all over the world, and he’s partially to blame. LOL
  21. That’s humbling honestly. That pic is on a few miles walk out to truck and scouting where to chop a road in for a recovery. There was this nice river flat, the rest was nasty riverine thickets. I ran ahead of my hunting team to take that pic; they thought I was crazy. I was trailing behind lost in my own thoughts as a few hours earlier I shot what I was after, its still a big deal to me to be successful on a hunt. I had this bright idea for a group shot. Front to back; Local tracker with shooting sticks, govt scout with an AK 47 on his shoulder, communal scout carrying a tail, PH’s tracker/driver they always work together on any concession, PH with his CZ 458 Lott. 105* that day and those guys wear t shirts under full coveralls. One afternoon it got stupid with charging elephant and poachers in a couple hour window right in the middle of a buffalo herd , I’d stand with those guys anywhere. The view from behind….
  22. I haven’t loaded a pic here in forever as I always used an Imgur link and it always worked, now I don’t get a pic. But I can use a jpeg off i pad, But I have better edited pics on Imgur I would prefer to use. On my screen this doesn’t come out clear, its out of focus. But its a clear pic everywhere else. Anyway, I followed suggestions above finding everything in settings; here’s crossing fingers it worked.
  23. Using safari on my i-pad…..used to get notifications for PM’s here. They recently stopped. I’m technology challenged at times. Suggestions?
  24. Yaa; what’s up with that? Sent my parents to Alaska on their 50th, cruise, tour, some time in Seattle. My cheap brother tried to glom on by volunteering to watch the house; he didn’t even know it was their 50th. Kids suck. My dad hated the idea, never stopped talking about it after. Have fun in Ireland! Sounds terrific…..
