Speaking of clocks - sort of. http://www.sunrisesunset.com/usa/New_York.asp Spent the night at camp - in the morning the access road was slightly blocked by 3 Turkeys, 1 Tom doing the dance, and two hens. The hens were a little spooked by the Jeep and crossed the road, Dragging him along, then they changed direction and so did he. I'm thinking the Tom wouldn't have cared if I was driving a battle tank.

Whatever you decide on, even if you wind up borrowing a bird gun, season is right around the corner. Try and get somewhere/range to pattern it so your comfortable with it's sights.

Question for fellow NY hunters and sportsman

looking for plots for deer and turkey....

Do yourself a favor and Avoid the 'Throw & Grow' type seed mixes. They are mostly rye (lawn) grasses which will grow almost anywhere, giving you the 'feel good' reaction. It has a poor draw, and whats worse by the time you realize the mistake it becomes a major hemorrhoid to get rid of. If you can get hold of a rear-tine tiller that's a plus. edit to add; Clover can be some maintenance but a good mix has its rewards. Also don't rule out chicory. It has some draw and taproot that can help survive drought. -
I picked up a Poulan Pro 18 a year or so back. Kit included the case and two chains. Decent camp saw.

Can't wait to get up to camp this weekend & check on plots & jazz. Clover should be starting soon, unfortunately will probably have to chew it all up after Turkey season due to a mistake I made 2-3 years ago and added a mix with rye. Which brings me to where I go for seed. Tractor Supply tends to carry 'Plot Spike'. Ok, well check the mix label, make sure it doesn't contain that feel good rye. Same goes for most of that toss & turn - throw and grow - what ever. Alot of mixes at basspro have the same jazz. So, for the amount of seed I use I usually get from Gander. I really don't like the store, but they usually stock Anterking clover mix or WTI and Tecomate. For brand - not bulk seed I've had good results with them.

Is it just me or in the 2nd pic does it look like a white duck on top of the skunk?

Ahh ok that's a Mac. So nevermind what I said about Windows. But there's got to be a similar burning/write process. Perhaps someone familiar with that OS can help. Wondering maybe you can just use a flash drive until then. here's a thread that may be of some help https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3172678?start=0&tstart=0

The -r format is generally more compatible but as HBB mentioned most all burners theses days accept either. Having said that unlike a usb flash drive you need a software program that uses your dvd burner/drive to 'burn' or write files to the blank dvd. Can be done from within Windows but other programs usually have an easier to use interface or drag & drop then write. What is your OS & what burning software does it have?
