  1. Congrats to both you and your son
  2. Great looking buck. Congrats
  3. Bleitten you didn't just say that. You just jinked yourself. You better knock on wood real quick. LOL
  4. Never heard of it. Thanks Geno for posting the video. There are so many different cover scents, attractants, etc. that a man can wrap up a lot of money trying all of them. I wait for other guys (or gals) to use them and listen to their remarks.
  5. I get the same rush. Bow or gun, buck or doe. They all thrill me just the same. When that thrill and rush go away it is time to quit. (I don't see me quitting until I am facing up and the flowers are going above me.)
  6. I will be honest. I took my rifle for granted one year. I thought to myself (why do I need to take the gun out and shoot it. I shot it all the previous years and never had to move a thing.) Well I was wrong. I had a buck come out about 100 yds away. I rested the gun and took the shot. When I walked up to the deer I notice that I had shot it in the back bone. So I had to put an extra round through the neck to finish him off. I was not happy with my shot placement so before I would take the rifle out for opening day in PA I took the gun to the range. I was shooting about 8-10 inches high. So yes you need to check everything ever year because you have no idea until it is too late. I lucked out and recovered the deer.
  7. Looks like you have a variety to choose from. Best of luck to you this hunting season.
  8. Mine is not too bad. I pay $95 every two weeks for my family. I have a $2000 deductible every year. After the deductible is met I pay virtual nothing. Medication (if needed) I have to pay in full but will get reimbursed 80%.
  9. I would not take the chance. You have the chance of pushing those deer onto your neighbors property.
  10. Agreed. I believe it is more instinct and pattern then it is memory.
  11. Looks like a nice little set up and fairly easy to install. Now next time I see that rig, there better be a deer hoisted up.
  12. I can see the tag sticking out the left antler a little. Nice buck and congrats to the hunter.
  13. I will post pics when I get it back. This was the 1st one that I ever saw (besides the one that my dad shot). It was quite the hunting experience. Yes I heard that it is bad luck to shoot an albino but I think that I would take my chances. What town is closest to you in 8W? When I head to NY to hunt I get close to 8W (we turn in Addison onto Rte 417.)
  14. Geno, my dad shot a piebald buck a couple of years ago and that one had white on the face and he got that one shoulder mounted. I have mine at a taxidermist to have the whole hide tanned. I should be receiving it any week now.
  15. Congrats on your deer. The 1st one will live with you forever.
  16. Thanks Geno. Here is another pic of where she laid when I found her. This pic shows the white that was on her back.
  17. This is the doe that I shot last year on the second day. Hope this works because I have never posted a picture on here.
  18. Slugger congrats on your bear. See if you can post a pic with the arrow through the ear lobe. 132 congrats on your doe. Nybowhunter congrats on your buck. Fantail congrats on your 3rd deer of the year. Sounds like you are going to have a full freezer.
