That looks like an uncomfortable position. Great story. My dad tells me I did the same stuff when I was 12 yrs old. Take him out for squirrels and see how he does. Thanks for sharing.

I would think that if you didn't shoot bucks for 3 years you would probably see a couple of nice ones walking around. But how long would that really last? I would say maybe 6-7 yrs max. Then you would be right back to where you are now. IMO I think one of the best starts that NY could have towards their management goals would be to reduce the number of bucks that you can harvest. 1 BUCK PER YEAR PER HUNTER.

There are some people on here who I can see get on your nerves. I have learned to ignore people even when they are attacking me. (Not on this forum). But sometimes those arrogant guys have made me laugh when I read their stuff. So stay around for awhile and see what for laughs you can get.

I wish I could bump the thermostat back during the day but I can't since the babysitter comes to my house to watch my one son. I typically have the house at 67. I will have to program the thermostat for 62 at night. I have hot water baseboard which needs oil to run. Speaking of which I need to get more or I will be out of heat shortly.

That is a nice looking deer.

Carharts is the way to go. They will keep you warm and they work great when walking through brush. I use them in second season rabbit hunting and they have become the new brush pants. +1 for the brownish tan pants. Way too close to the color of a deer.

That is what hunting is all about, having fun. I wouldn't call that a slow morning. If I see a deer it is a good day.

I just hate getting sick this time of year. If I get any symptom of a cold I start hitting the medication right away and make sure to drink extra fluids and get extra sleep. I hope that you start to feel better and are able to get to the stand that you want to. Good luck to you.
