Nice buck. Looks to me like he was starting a drop tine off the right side. And that is a neat looking spike.

No he didn't bait to keep the does in the area. He stated that he first tried corn but the deer did not take to it, so he tried apples and the buck was coming in 3-4 times a week to eat. However he shot the deer legally. This my not be the hunting that some of us are use to but it is the way other guys hunt. So congrats to the hunter.

Bubba I know where you are coming from on that one. One reason (just my opinion) is that back years ago you did not have a whole lot of posted private land. There were more hunters in the woods and they always pushed deer around. (From one farm to another). My dad stated that he use to hunt this mountain and that mountain. Now all these mountains that he use to hunt he can't anymore due to them being posted and the landowners don't allow anyone to hunt. Wildcat you will have to let us know how your experiment goes. Then try the cherry flavor pipe tobacco or cigars.

That sucks. Try to think of anyone who knows where your stand is and if any of them have a problem with you. Like you said it is probably someone you kicked off your land and you have no idea who they are. That would irritate the hell out of me and I would kick some ass if I found out who did it.

I have a bottle of their scent away (I bought it on sale, used it maybe once). I don't use attractrants or cover scents. What are your guy's thoughts on these products.

Most of the time I hunt by myself. Other than that, I hunt with family or my 1 buddy.

I am starting to see a lot more scrapes. I would think that the warm temperatures would gbe keeping the activities to a bare minimum.

Glad to hear that. Sounds like this is going to be a great place to hunt. Best of luck to you. You might want to hunt some squirrels in the 2nd season. The area you described sounds like a prime squirrel area and they may drive you nuts.
