I found two stands where I hunt today. Saw the guy multiple times. The one stand is likely just on my property facing into the edge of my land. Second stand is likely just off my land, and facing into my land. Any shot fired from the second stand will immediately pass into my land. It’s literally right there. I would like to say something to the guy but not sure the best way to deal with this. I’m also thinking forget it as his stand is not illegal. Advice?

Back out again. My new neighbor was waving at me like a chicken with his head cut off as I was walking in. Think I spooked some deer. Oh well.

I knew it would happen. I tagged out last weekend and went for a flathead this morning. Of course a very nice 10 pt walks by me and gives a 15 yard broadside shot.... difficult to pass but I did. Two new ladder stands up adjacent to my already crowded plot of land. Saw a guy this morning walking around with a compound. Great....

My hunting buddy convinced me to shoot a flathead today instead of duck hunt. see if I can pop one this morning. Good luck everyone.

What angle you shoot at? Maybe a low shot but an up angle?

For me, the action of lifting the crossbow and clicking off the safety usually gets their attention enough to stop them. Deer is usually looking at me when this happens though.

Sorry to hear Otto.. Hopefully you get one this weekend. The good thing is high and back with little blood.. that deer should make it.

How typical is it to draw tags that easily? I am assuming you guys got very lucky. You have the land scouted or go in cold? You guys tent camped or rent a cabin? This sounds like an excellent trip.

Just had two fox pass behind me while our for ducks this morning. They didn't know I was here. Passed within 10 yards. One du k in range this morning but it was when I was setting out decoys. Only 3_4 ducks flying so far.

No shots in the blind today. Starting to see a few redheads though. Hopefully tomorrow morning will get some shooting.

No... she requested I attempt myself first. I managed to drag it to the car but didn’t have enough left to lift it in. I sat on the roadside for quite a while trying to lift it in. thought I’d either see law enforcement or someone would stop and bitch at me. Luckily neither. I hid the deer in the ditch and drove to get the mrs. She helped lift it up and in. I’m thinking about getting an attachment for my hunting rig that goes into the trailer hitch. That should help. Y this is largest deer I’ve dropped. Definitely stoked. Sore as hell though. Dragging this and hanging. . good luck everyone!,, time to return to the duck blind the next 3 days for me.

Everything lined up perfect for this deer. I was facing bedding area expecting something to come out. Half hour before sunset I hear crunching coming from my right shoulder behind me and notfrom the bedding. I see movement and could tell it’s a deer, just not what it was yet. It gets within eye vision and I see horns, good sized. It’s coming and I see a point and say that’s my lane. Pop when it gets there. Crossbow up, in the scope, safety off. Deer stops. It’s about max range for me but a clear clean shot. I’ve practiced this shot, a bit closer but about same height. I pulled the trigger on my Parker thunder hawk and the bolt flew with the lighted knock illuminated. What a sight. My heart sinks though as the deer bounds away and I see the bolt stuck in a tree. Wtf... how did I miss???? The deer runs about 40 yards and fell over! Ye friggin ha! The bolt passed through the deer, clipping both lungs, maybe the heart as well and stuck in the tree. I’m quite happy I made a nice shot on this at distance. I am pretty sure this was one of two deer I keep getting on camera. Images coming...

Got it done.. this was my shooter buck I have on trail cam. Couldn’t lift it and had to get the mrs to help lift.

Busted by a scrawny doe. Was rattling and she came in. She smelled me and stomped around for 15 minutes!!! Raised the flag multiple times.. ughhhh. Don't think she saw me though

Right where I was this morning. Seems i should get back there. Pulled the camera when coming in for lunch and see this..

Not the best in 7J this morning. First time out with the new climber and what a cluster frick it was. I walked past my tree and had to wander a bit to find it. Clunking and clanging I got the stand apart and onto the tree. Up I go and finally get situated. Saw one small buck, maybe a 4, for a short 20 seconds as he disappeared. Grunted at him hoping he may come back. Nope. A mother and fawn moved through late morning but I was not interested. Wife down the street didn’t see anything. Good job to those who got it done this morning. Some nice deer on here.

I'm thinking a good idea to do some all day or at least very extended sits this weekend. Anyone else?? Now I have a climber I am going to hit some state land at least one day. Im squirmmming like crazy to leave work. One hour to go.. count down is on.

I wonder what his relationship with local law enforcement is. Seems if he is getting away with blatantly breaking the law he has to have an "in" somehow.
