I am left handed with everything. Not only shooting. Was either my great or great great grandmother had her left hand tied behind her back so she couldnt use it to write. How messed up is that.

Tecnu! Works wonders at least for poison oak. I kept that handy when mushroom picking on the West Coast. Sadly one day I felt the call of nature during a foray and answered the call. Wish I would not have....Yes poison oak on my Johnson. Tecnu took care of it but I put on an over abundance and ended up burning some skin off. Not fun...

Possibility of parking in NJ and taking NJ transit in. Specifically, there is a large commuter lot that should work. Lyndhurst, NJ station stop. Main Line Local takes you to Secaucus Junction. Go up the stairs, Transfer to any train to NYC often on track A and B, though weekends or other times might use different tracks. This takes you to NY Penn and NYC subway system. Cost is about 5 to get you all the way to NYC. Either jump on ACE and transfer to 7 at times square (42 ave.) or walk a bunch of blocks to 7 train entrance from Penn. Below is cut and paste from https://www.njtransit.com/rg/rg_servlet.srv?hdnPageAction=TrainStationLookupFrom&selStation=75 Lot Location: New York Ave & Delafield Ave Owner: NJ TRANSIT Contact: NJ TRANSIT Phone: 973-275-5555 Standard Spaces: 470 Accessible Spaces: 10 Evenings: FREE Nights: PARKING ALLOWED Weekends: FREE On-Street: SHORT TERM LIMITS Website: www.njtransit.com Type of Parking: No Fee Resident: NO FEE Non-Resident: NO FEE

I successfully sued a muffler repair shop in small claims court and won. You don't need a lawyer and if you have half a brain, you can do this. The cost was like 50 and it was an evening of my time as I used the night court option. The filing was not bad at all either. One paper I had to send in and fill out. Now.. the difficult part was collecting on this judgment. It took me nearly two years to collect and was very aggravating. A bunch of paperwork that yes was a bitch. But its doable if you stick with it. The law states 9% interest on outstanding judgments, so though I wanted the cash back, I liked the 9% interest while I worked on getting it. I ended up with 5K in the bank from this. I don't think collecting would be worth it in this situation but spending 50.00-100.00 and an evening of night court would well be worth it, especially if the guy who got the gun was not a seller. This tells me, if correct, it does not matter if it was a sellers gun and therefore, the persons name that was drawn should end up with the gun. Good luck OP. At the least I would threaten small claims court. If you present a well laid out, thoughtful case to the club board, they may think twice about going to court. If you show up like an idiot screaming I'LL SUE.. good luck.

Trunk locking mechanism in my pathfinder???
Al Bundy replied to Al Bundy's topic in General Chit Chat
Thanks. I’ve actually tried google and 1a auto vids are good but that vid shows how to replace when it’s open. ..I’m stuck shut. google failed me this time. -
My rear trunk/gate is stuck shut in my 98 pathfinder. I removed the panel and sprayed the shit out of it hoping it would release. I cant figure how to get this thing to unlatch though. It releases initially then moves half inch or so, but that is it. Something is not letting go totally and its not clear how to get this thing to budge. The mechanism is in the back and really hard to see. Any ideas?? Facing view and top view..

Funny this topic should come up. I just returned from vacation in the Caribbean where I was offered a local mushroom variety, among other fine wild herbs. It tasted kind of shitty but I laughed about it for some reason. Seriously.. I am looking forward to mushroom season this year. Hopefully Ill get out enough to find some.

Last time I used my tiller was to plant about 75 grape vines in a swale field. It was a wild jungle of thorns, goldenrod, small trees, etc. My troy built horse plowed through and didn't skip a beat....
-
You good with engines? Look for an old Troy Built. I think they are also models horse and pony. They were once upon a time built SOLID. I do not know about current troy built. I saw them in Lowes for a while semi recently. I have one from 1979 I think it is and its a tank. I see them now and again on craigs list.

Well Put Storm!!! I mean... whats wrong with people?? Doesn't anyone care? ME ME ME. I don't want your service dog around, even though it could kill you....
-
Welcome to the laws of the United States of America my friend. Kudos to you having the uncanny ability to look at a dog and make a medical assessment of the owner. Hopefully your medical prowess would have come in handy if the person had an epileptic seizure, hypoglycemia, or a host of other legitimate medical conditions.

On first thought, this sounds appropriate. But... think about it. There are two schools of thought on this topic. Some of the people with legal working dogs encourage more people to bring their dogs places. The thought being that the more dogs, the less harassment they receive from people who are uneducated. Other thinking is its a right reserved only for those who truly need it.
-
State laws vary, but at least some states allow an owner to train a service dog so the answer would be NO. There is also no requirement in the law that says the dogs need to have a vest on, carry papers to prove anything, act the way that someone else thinks they should act, or answer ignorant questions. Matter of fact, the opposite. If you start harassing someone because you are playing doctor, you could find yourself on the losing end of a very real law suit. Emotional support animals do not have the same privs as true working dogs. EX Military may have some different special rules associated, that I don't know. The dog grabbing someones food is clearly a violation, in my opinion. The dog is not under the owners control at that point and would seem to be legal to ask for removal of the animal. EDIT: As for papers, though its not a legal requirement, nobody knows this. If a person with a legal working dog does not have papers and is asked for them.. a large argument would likely begin. However, if papers are carried and shown, it gives the appearance of being legal.

Keeping ducks, someone please talk me out of it

Suggest chickens instead?? Least you will have good fresh eggs. -
I have a pair of Polaris 780 SLX on a trailer I am going to advertise for sale here soon for 3K. Engines rebuilt before I bought them. I didn't use them much. 3500 for what you are looking at is not a smoking deal, but doesn't seem outrageous either.

Haven't had to hardly shovel this winter in NYC area. Small amount but by far much more mild than last winter. BTW - I was out hiking one day and took a shower after. Woke up in the morning with one of these bastards burrowed into my arm pit. Casual shower does not remove them...

How would you rate yourself as a turkey caller ?
Al Bundy replied to turkeyfeathers's topic in Turkey Hunting
Central NY. They are nowhere near as plentiful as 20 or so years ago. From my hunting land yes they are gone. From the surrounding area, there are a scattered few I see on rare occasions. -

Turkey all but disappeared in my hunting area. I almost never see them. When they were around, I learned how to voice call with just my mouth. I could do a seductive purr pretty good. Peliated wood pecker call worked magic for locating. -
Thanks for that. They are a pretty sight. I hope to see some pretty ones in my freezer this weekend.
-
Anyone seeing snows around central NY yet? I am going to try my luck this weekend and hope there are some around.

I am sick of crappy ice! Yeh I am attacking crappy ice! Piss me off.. So I wake up this morning and jump in the shower. Burned my sack off. Why? Damn crappy ice plugging up my cold water! This is 3-4 time this winter my pipe froze. I turned on the dryer and hot water. Problem gone in minutes luckily. I really have to fix this before crappy ice burst my pipe. Then I will have something to really bitch about. Its a pipe against an outer wall. When the temp goes down and the wind blows.. it freezes. I had a can of spray foam I tried to insulate with. Didn't work.. argggh.

Finally got out in the field with my rifle. My first hunt with it happened to be at Tioga boar ranch. This was my first type of pay to hunt so I was not real sure what to expect. The ranch itself is quite inviting and has apparently had some new buildings put up in recent past. It’s clean, kept well, and the staff are awesome. The hunt was finished quickly. We walked a short way into the woods while a guide worked to move some our direction. A herd of Russians came by but I was after meat, not a trophy. That herd had some meat hogs that stopped near us. They were eating and not moving much when the Mrs. clicked off her safety and dropped one at about 70 yards. Looking later, she made an excellent shot. I was up next but had to wait until the one was clear of the dead one. After a few minutes, I had a clear shot that found its mark. A little closer, maybe 60 yards. Both hogs dropped where they stood. The guides cleaned and loaded them up and let us know this was unusual to be done so quickly. For what it was, this went well. I filled the freezer, deflowered the NULA, and the mrs. Had fun.
