    Probably should leave now to beat others there. I'm blessed not to have to hunt public land. Hunt brothers 70 acres and never see a soul let alone hear any shots on same mountain side. Just jinxed myself, and he's got property up for sale too.

    Mama's ditching them ? Daughter made me swear not to shoot "mama" with fawns many years ago. I've finally convinced her this year that if they're big enough they'll be fine. So all these years all I ever see are does with fawns, even late ML season. I did have a fawn crying thru out the woods a few years back. Bedded down right in front of my stand. Cried for a good 30 minutes. sorta sad. Not sure if it got abandoned or doe got plugged.

    LOL, I borrowed one of those from a co worker to go to ASP last year to camp. Fire was "barely" hot I thought. The end melted in seconds in front of my eyes. Like it was made of butter. Still don't know what I did wrong. That sucked as we had planned on using it more than the first night.

    I've got that in the area I hunt too. Every year 6-10 little trees are all beat up. Always assumed it was same deer. These happen to be near a pinch path between two fields thru small plot of trees. Sucks I can't get in tight there as I blow directly at it.

    That's great to hear. Brothers and dad used to hunt very near to where I turkey hunt and deer hunt. I only put up maybe 1 bird a year now but back in the day they'd flush dozens per hunt. Don't know how my dad did it but he hunted them with a .410. He went 42 for 85 one year. Them dang things scare the crap outta me when they take off. Don't think I could even shoulder the gun let alone hit one !

    For those in stands this morning and it's still clear and dark. Pretty good view of the Stars this morning. Look for the brightest glowing one in the SW right now ( this is from Erie county ) That's actually Venus. Just to one o'clock from there is Mars and just to one o'clock from there is Jupiter. They form a diagonal line. That's your astrology lesson for today lol. Good luck out there with no winds.

    Very true here too. Get yourself a camo umbrella that straps around tree above you. Best $15 you'll ever spend That is if you don't have one already. I've gotten WAY too much use during deer and turkey season with mine. Actually have 2 back ups lol
