  1. Lets be honest, most of the time those stories are better!
  2. I know a vendor that was the show who said he had over $600 invested in it, between a booth and advertising. I would have to agree with you guys, that seems a bit pricey for a show hosted by the DEC. I could see vendors hosting shows, such as the Dome Arena, having a reason to have high fees, but not the DEC.
  3. Yep - same farmer I know planted his wheat two weeks ago so it should be perfect. If they leave just a little corn standing at the start of the season I would be happy. I'm glad they are ahead though, because if all the corn's standing that's where the deer hide.
  4. Nice to see other fellow hunters from 6A getting good bucks on cam!
  5. Most areas in and around Monroe county have chopped corn. A farmer that gave me permission to hunt says he won't be done picking corn until November.
  6. Glad to hear you weren't severly hurt - I wear a Muddy safety harness and it also comes with a linemans rope - very very handy.
  7. I have never, but a cut on contact blade like that will surely do some damage.
  8. Possibly 2 1/2 - most likely not 3 1/2 though. Where abouts in Walworth are you taking the pictures? I'm not trying to find out where you hunt, I just grew up in the area.
  9. Great picture of the deer coming out of velvet. That's a first for me, seeing that on camera. Thanks!
  10. Pics look great Eddie - always nice to see deer in an area you're considering hunting.
  11. Violations in NYS are something like $1000 per animal and $5000+ per "trophy" animal. That's just for deer - there could be firearm violations etc to go along with it. Either way it's wrong - and unfortunately, most of these people are wise about it and good at evading the DEC.
  12. Haha this must be a fact! It's got to be! Lol
  13. I would like to see a longer bow season - two weeks is pretty short. But I understand that the lengthy gun season is more for the adirondacks than us, it would be nice though.
  14. In the future, you'll want me to careful about overseeding annuals. With perennials, go ahead!
  15. Pictures look nice - hope you get on one. WNY is right as well, it's very likely that could be a doe. The body size and features resemble a doe more than a buck.
  16. Our camp is 6A - beautiful country. Could use an adjustment to the deer season though.
  17. If anything, they should have skipped over that part and just shown the hunter's reaction. That's a little barbaric and I think many people would agree with you on that.
  18. I'll keep it in mind. I'll put a post out there looking for an experienced trapper at some point too.
  19. Ready as I'll ever be! Less than two weeks for me - September 30th I head up north for three days of archery. We've been seeing a lot of activity on our food plots, should be exciting!
  20. These aren't broadheads that you usually hear about. How did you come to choose between these three? There is not much too much online about them.
  21. Keep me posted - I would be interested in some help. I don't do much yote' hunting - I think if I could get a trusted trapper I would be more pleased with that though.
  22. Two guys were just arrested last night in my parents neck of the woods - big fine. It's sad that it's starting already, always seems to be mid-September.... http://www.whec.com/news/stories/S1745974.shtml?cat=566
  23. I've always heard people use buckwheat as a cover plot, but that's great that the deer are eating yours. If you find something that works, stick with it!
  24. Is that buckwheat that is standing so tall then?
