  2. woods are lit up with rubs and scrapes but all buck activity is in the dark, dont think with weather being warm for the next 2 days will help change that but im trying to remain optimistic for next weekends hunt. Trying to decide weather to take off 2 days before halloween weekend or two days after
  3. just got settled into my stand 3s 43 nice and breezy check my cam the wide 8 was here at last night last night lets hope he shows his face tonight Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. first sit of the season 3s had a doe feed at first light and bumped one on the way to the stand, squirrels are making a racket this morning. hoping the wide 8 decides to show himself Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. just upgrade to all new sitka optifade forest, got a really good deal on the full package since there new elevated pattern came out.
  6. download pinwheel software and enter you bow specs and it will tell you what spine you should be shooting and then you can narrow down on what arrows you should you. Weight of the arrow has nothing to do with if it is the proper spine index for your specs. Also might want to post anything specifically archery related on ArcheryTalk alot more archers on there then here.
  7. he doesnt break 400 a buddy of mine shot a 421 lb bear a few weeks ago and it look atleast a 100 bigger than this guy in trail cam pics, either way who cares what he weights hes a beautiful bear.
  8. maybe in the 90s when it wasnt over run by anti hunting liberals....easier to get permission to screw the home owners daughter then hunt.
  9. http://www.gomuddy.com/product/the-magnum/ pretty sure helen keller would be able to get in and out of this harness....spend the $60
  10. just got a muddy magnum for 59 dollars from dicks it was on sale, so far i really like it very adjustable, lightweight, and comfortable and extremely easy to put on after using the one that come with my stand. Take a look at it. I would highly recommend it.
  11. new hoyt nitrum 30, all new camo sitka forest pattern, new stands, new cams, shooting everyday for the last 3 months, the list goes on
  12. check archerytalk tons of discussion on broadheads and tons of people love the slicktricks, at the end of the day its all personal preference IMO
  13. when you find this info pass it on to me as my girlfriend and i also live in westchester and are thinking of getting a gsp.
  14. me too, details and address would be nice so i can google earth the property.
  15. wasn't opening day always the 3rd wednesday in November? That would put it on 11/21.
  16. i have personally never shot a bear with a bow but i know that they are extremely tough animals and i would not trust anything but a fixed blade, i shoot G5 Montec and they fly very well out to 45 yards. Also check out slick tricks, ulmer edge (apparently the best mechanical), muzzy trocars.
  17. check percision armory or tri-county sporting goods. they are in carmal area should be more reasonable than westchester
  18. check out padanarum or wardsboro that where i hunt when i go up there its about 15 mins away from my house in bolton landing. huge area tons of predators not many deer, also alot of good small game hunting rabbit grouse ect...
  19. All private land and no dogs just covering alot of ground
  20. Went out sat we flushed up 6 grouse taking 2 went out sun and got 2 rabbits last few trips have been successful
  21. For that price why wouldn't you just go to Maine and hunt bear, they use the same tactics and bears are pretty similar in size. For that price you should be able to have your pick of spring/fall hunt over bait or even a fall hunt with hounds. Or as Biz said go out west, you can hunt them for about that same price point as your speaking about above and get the opportunity at a color phase while spotting and stalking as opposed to sitting in a stand over bait for hours.
  22. if i had a tower blind like that i dont think there would be any need to leave it for the entire 3 weeks of gun season.
  23. this looks too good not to try it myself
