  1. I have been following along intently on their hunting seasons for a few years now. When I was browsing the live from thread today and saw the young lady's smiling face my eyes got a little wet. You guys have eared it in every way! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. My debit card is clipped to refrigerator for online purchases at all times, I don't have a single credit card. I carry a fair amount of cash and extra in all the cars. I can honestly say I have never once in my life "swiped" a card. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Was at my moms letting her dog out while she is out shopping and was reading the paper and looked through the ducks paper and saw that they had ammo buy 1 get 1 50% off regular priced ammo. Crow season is coming up soon so I figured I would go down and see what they had. Well about every shotgun shell they had was "on sale" except what I use for crow hunting. They had a stupid 10per customer rule so it took me 6 trips but luckily they had a cash only line so I walked by the ridiculously long lines every time. Saved 120$ for 20 minutes work. Got tired of stacking after 20 boxes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. There is a lot of questions that the report brings up! How the hell could you mistake a woman walking a dog for a deer especially at pistol ranged! Sounds like murder to me, if it were up to me he'd be hanging before the ink dried on the judges decision! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. You and me both Grampy! I think it's why I like hunting the Adirondacks so much because I don't have to pick I just walk as far as I can/have to. Around home if I have to pick a stand or a property you can bet your last dollar that 99 out of 100 I'm at the wrong one at the wrong time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. No luck tonight with it but I think I'll bring it along in the morning as well. It's funny because I talked to this fella at the gun show for hours about guns especially Remington pumps and it closed before either of us got into the show. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Thanks guys, it is a neat gun. I had looked for one for years and ended up buying two. Now this one makes 3 and they all have a cool story so I don't think I could sell any of them but this one is definitely staying in the herd. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. That's a 35rem as well. Had the barrel wacked of and I love carrying it. Can't wait to kill a critter with it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. These are the 2 I have I think ones rated to -40c and the other to -100c Never had cold feet in either. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Do I ever! Not complaining about all the property I have to hunt but it always seems like I zig when I should be zagging. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Went home for lunch and a change in shootin iron, this is my 22nd different gun I have carried this gun season and a pretty cool one with an awesome back story to it. The story is in the firearms section. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. About 3 weeks ago I get a call from an elderly woman telling me that she has a gun she has to sell to me for 200$. Now I buy and sell guns constantly but this one took me by surprise. So after talking to this woman for about 10 minutes I had absolutely no clue who she was or what gun she was selling me. She told me that her husband had died and when her and her kids were going through his closet in his gun case was his gun with a note saying "sell this to Jordan for 100$ and my phone #." She told me she lived in near Scranton PA. She was very adamant about selling it to me because of all his guns "sounded like he had a lot" this was the only one with a note on where he wanted it. After talking to her I told her I wouldn't be able to drive down and get it until after the new year but I did want it and I would mail her a check now if she wanted me to, she said she had to talk to her son and would call me back. A couple days later her son called me and after talking to him he was able to read the writing on the gun and told me it was a Ruger 44mag carbine. Once I knew what it was I remembered bullshitting with an old timer at a gun show down that way about 10 years ago and at the time I was looking for one "I now own 2, well 3" and he told me he had one but didn't want to sell it. I told him if he ever decided he wanted to sell it to give me a call. I told the son that I wanted the gun but that 100$ was way to low of a price and I would pay market value for it. He said absolutely not that it was what his old man wanted. We discussed how I would get it and we decided that shipping was easiest because the mother was moving etc. so I did all the leg work and called their local gun shop payed for the shipping and all they had to do was drop it off. Last night I went and picked it up at my gun shop and its in decent shape just as he had described it 10 years ago. Ran home for a lunch break today and figures I would shoot it quick well 1st shot hit an inch high at 100yds and the next 4 were all within an inch of the first one. The next tube of 5 all made my 6" gong sing at 100yds. Here she is in the woods with me for an evening sit. Let's hope lucky #11 knocks down a buck tonight! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. It's actually not false, you're correct in that bullets are designed but as he states from 10-100yds the variation in velocity are too small to notice. It is also false that bullets shot above their operating velocity range will not expand at all. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I wear light weight quality Marino wool socks in them and my feet don't sweat at all. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Look up Baffin boots, if your feet are cold in them then I don't believe there is anything that will work. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. No Remington model 760 in 35rem. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Yay!!!!!!!! I'm so happy for both of you! Hell of a buck too! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Yes, but I like shooting. They ain't dead until I haven't hands on them. A couple pounds of wasted meat beats a long track any day! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Got in stand early because I knew it would be loud, neighbors shot at 6:01 in the pitch dark. Toting some old iron this morning for a sit at the crick stand. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. 20$ an acre may be fair but my point is 20$ an acre isn't near enough money to make it worth the hassle and I would be willing to bet that I'm not the only landowner that feels that way. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Wow, interesting for sure. Wonder what bullets he was shooting. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. How much wood are you splitting? I split 5-6 cord a year with a splitting axe. It's way faster. I have a timber wolf splitter and it is a phenomenal machine but I only run it every 3 or 4 years when I get a big enough pile of knotty stud I don't want to split by hand. A truck tire and a good SHARP splitting axe would be my suggestion. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Why should the state subsidize landowners? Where would the money come from? I know me personally it would need to be a substantial amount of money to allow someone to hunt my property. I would likely laugh in someone's face at the 20$ an acre offer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. I'm just glad I remembered my safety harness. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Until they start changing season dates if you want to hunt managed property break out the check book. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
