  1. What the hell is the difference between you leasing property and others hunting it than the state leasing property and others hunting it? The state option won't be any cheaper and there will still be others hunting it? If you live in an area that doesn't have much hunting move, I took a huge cut in pay to have a job that allowed me more time to hunt. Where there is a will there's a way, and complaining gets no one anywhere. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. You literally said "you" while quoting my post. That sounds pretty personal to me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Lol, wrong again pal. I own my own land and bust my nuts to have permission on more land than I could hunt if season was all year yet I still spend 90% of my season hunting public land in the Adirondacks. I have stands I haven't hunted in years and properties I haven't hunted in years and yet I'm always trying to get permission on more yet I could kill a mature buck or 2 every year on my own property. I don't hunt tree stands much I'm a still hunter and a tracker so I can wear out a property very quickly. I have sole permission to hunt damn near 2000 acres yet I nocked on a door just 2 days ago to get permission to hunt their property, they said no to deer hunting but said yes to small game when it's not deer season. I would put money on the fact that in a couple years I can deer hunt it as well. To those of us who work hard getting permission and paying for our own property your comments are a joke. It's irritating reading it kind of like getting of a 16hr shift and stopping to get a coffee and the jerk off in front of you has potato chips, candy, and soda and swipes their EBT card. 4. Yup you nailed it! We all spend thousands of $$ so we can bait. Your true colors are coming out, you don't want to work for it so you want the government to do it for you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I bought myself a new Glock 43 that I picked up yesterday and a leupold vx-5 1-5X. My mom got me new ice creepers that she gave me yesterday while I was sanding her driveway. It's a good Xmas so far! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Put an add in your local paper. Where there's a will there's a way and keeping the government out of it is best for all involved. I have talked about it on here before but I talked to a farmer about hunting and he said no and I told him I was willing to work for him for permission and he said the only help he needed was truck drivers so I payed for a Cdl school and got my license I now have sole permission on his farm "about 1500acres." 7. Get a few buddies together and all pitch in a couple hundred and start knocking on doors. The same guy that says no when asking permission might say yes when there is some money involved. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I'm not much of a conspiracy guy but it certainly seems to me that they are trying to make it so hard and frustrating that many just give up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. What about the extra man power? All lands would have to be very clearly marked for liability reasons. To make it worth it for a landowner your talking about at least 1000$ per 100acre's let's say they allow 5 hunters per 100acres that's 200$ a person for the permit. Would you pay 200$ a year to hunt 100 acres with 4 other guys? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I'm against having to pay more taxes on my property to let someone else hunt my neighbors property. Most landowners don't want strangers on their property. The ones that do most likely already allow hunting or are leasing. There is a ton of private property out there that the owners will let people hunt on you just have to find it and be willing to do a little work. Frankly I'm tired of hearing the BS about no where to hunt. I bust my balls to get and keep property to hunt only to have others beg to join me because they aren't willing to get permission. 11. Damn near pissed myself! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I would pay 500$+ if the laws already on the books would be enforced! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Well that's a wrap, first year in 18yrs of hunting without killing a deer in NY. Was a good year in all, Brother shot the only shooter we had on camera I shot a nice buck in Ohio and a dandy in PA. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I couldn't call them crappy because I haven't owned one long enough but I did buy 3 2-7 crossfire on sale from midway, never mounted them and sent them back. I do t think they were as clear as the comparable leupold or redfield and were heavier. Everyone has different perspectives hell there are people that drive dodge pickups and if I was given one I wouldn't drive it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. No answers to your question, but is it going to be a bench rest gun? Even off bipods and bags anymore than 12X starts getting fuzzy. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. I cast my own but I have used bear tooth bullets in the past. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. There are spots it could be done but I couldn't get myself to sit that long. The reason why it's a popular method out west is because you can see miles at a time and can be mobile. This is just not possible in the dacks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. My big woods season was terrible only hunting 9 days. I let 5 bucks go but never laid my eyes on a shooter. I did find an area that I am very excited to hunt next year and I am excited to see what the trail camera shows when I can get back up there in the spring to check it! 19. Although my personal vote is the Adirondacks in reality it probably isn't the best choice. Western wmu's year after year produce more big bucks. I haven't hunted out there much but the books don't lie. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. North eastern Saratoga and western Washington. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. At 30 I have matured more than I could imagine as an outdoorsman. The number 1 thing I would tell the younger me is not to argue or do the opposite of what my father tried telling me. As a kid I always had a better way to do things and now that my dads gone I wish I would have listened more. The other thing I have learned is its not the number of fish you catch, what they weigh or the number of deer you kill/ what they score/weight it's the time in the woods that is the trophy. Instead of having racks/mounts to brag about have them to use as a remembrance of how and who they were taken with. I am thankful I have learned this because I enjoy my time outdoors much more than I used to! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Well I'm 30 and own 200 acres of my own my brother is 35 and he has another nearly200. I live without so I can have my own. If it wasn't for owning land I could probably afford a new Harley and a new snowmobile and a new truck but my older models still slow me to have fun and allow me to afford my hobbies.
