Are there any restrictions on quartering and packing out game?

I think you're wrong but we will find out as soon as I get an email back. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

This is the exact reason for the last 3 pages, if I cut a deer up and walk out of the woods with nothing but a garbage bag of boned meat and a filled out tag what else do I need. I have sent an email to my Dec. Contact and will post the reply. The book contradicts itself about 4 times on that one page. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
I have lived in 5 states, hunted in 8 and I now live 150yds from the house I grew up in. New Yorks deer hunting sucks but other hunting is very good, fishing is very good. The taxes are terrible and the cost of living is even worse but what it boils down to for me is none of the other states are "home." Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

When i see that picture I will be smiling ear to ear with a tear in my eye! That barrel is well trained all you gotta do is get a critter in front of it! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Too wet when I planted and we went 33 days without a drop of rain after planting. No big deal I have plenty of corn and all I had invested was fuel and fertilizer as it was last years corn as well. Food plot success to me is having my daughter see deer in them. Most years there isn't a buck around my house worth killing but it's fun to go out and see deer, especially when she is with me. Yes, I have tried tried the most extreme angles I will shoot and have no problems. I bought the Scott longhorn hunter so I can cheat it if I have to. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Honestly I put a ton of time and money into plots and haven't killed a deer out of them in at least 5 years. I put them in for my brother and for me to be able to bring Maddy out and let her see deer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

That would be nice! This thread has my curiosity peaked again. I'll call them in the morning and try to get something in writing. Of course if we emailed 5 offices we will most likely get 5 different answers but something in writing means a lot more than an "I though." Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
I bought a hinge release and I honesty don't know if I will ever shoot a trigger release again. Probably have 1500shots with it so far and am truly amazed how Much of a difference it has made in my shooting. Having shot bows year round for a bit over 20 years now I now realize how many bad habits I had developed and although I have always been a good shot I now realize why I could never shoot those stupid tight groups that I have saw others shooting. I always blamed it on my bows setup because I shoot a huge peep and a very large pin but now realize it was all the Indian. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I'll be honest I have read this same thing a bunch of times and still have no idea what it is trying to say. When I first started my tent camp up north I emailed a Encon officer that worked out of the Warensburg office. I can't find the email but I have it printed at my camp. Basically what he said was as long as the meat appears to be one deer and I have something proving the sex with it I am good to go. He also said worst case scenario is to remember where the carcass is so I could bring an officer to it if need be. He also stated that boned out meat is no different than some one leaving the butcher with their meat, they don't give the head of a doe back with your meat at any butcher I have been to. I emailed him because I had read the laws on it about 5 times and was more confused than when I started. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
That's good news! I put it in 2 failed corn plots. I added some extra clover seed that I had laying around. I just hope we get these storms they have been warning us about all day! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hha single pin, no scope. Long range bow shooting is a blast and it makes a 30yd shot a chip shot. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Not to hijack the thread but Grow I think you bought some of the cheap plot spike from Tsc this year have you panted any? I just put in 3 acres worth curious to see how it does. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Our 3pt hitch spreader broke a pin that is proprietary so I used some redneck ingenuity and let my daughter drive around the field while I rode on the tiller. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Public for the most part. Although I have on private land as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Comments like that remind me that the more people I'm around the more I realize I don't like people! I can't social media anymore because of all the stupidity. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

If I'm packing out a doe I'm not carrying the head, law says sex so while I'm gutting I cut out the two holes under the tail and put them in my pocket with the tag zip tied to it. With a buck I cut the horns off and his dangling duo and zip tie them and the tag to the horns. The law doesn't say 1 word about antlers it says sex. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Sweet looking gun! When you pattern it I am interested in how close the barrel hit. I have owned a few "cheaper" overunders and all but one weren't within a ft of each other at 30yds. I love a 410 because I love light guns, for bunnies and squirrel a better scatter gun hasn't been made. I have stopped carrying a 410 for bunnies because when the occasional partridge busted all I ever got were feathers. I went back to my 20ga. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I have had a few around here this year as well, don't know if any more than usual but more than I would like. There are a few less now than what started the summer from some freak accidents. Coyotes really seem to have bad luck around me during daylight. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I chuckle when I talk about it and other hunters turn up their noses at the thought of crow hunting. There is too many of them, there is no limits, they are smart enough to make it fun but dumb enough to keep it fun, you don't have to get wet "unlike duck hunting" and best of all shells are way cheaper than steel shot. I have a camp north of speculator on the west side of rt 30. That is a huge chunk of unbroken land that is know to hold some nice bucks. Your group had any success in there? Let's see some pics. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Interesting read on barrel length
Buckmaster7600 replied to moog5050's topic in Rifle and Gun Hunting
Nothing is free, there is a loss in velocity although much smaller than many thing and there is more noise and muzzle flash. Of all the deer I have killed with a rifle the longest barrel I have ever killed a deer with was 22" and that was on a Winchester 94 30-30. Everything else is under 19". A 30-06 with a 18" barrel is a ballistic twin to a 308 with a 22" barrel a 270 with an 18" barrel is a ballistic twin to a 7mm-08 with a 22" barrel with the same bullet weight. There isn't a deer in the world that will know the difference. But you sure will totin the gun around all day. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
