  1. 76yds a little after legal light. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Had a busy few days and was about to sit on he couch and watch football but decided to go for a walk instead. 2 dead greys now I'm just sitting enjoying watching the woods get dark. . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I like the ford so far, no brand loyalty at all I have owned them all and would again except a dodge. In the last 13 years I have went Chevy1500, dodge1500, Chevy2500 Toyota Tundra, Nissan Titan, Ford F-150, Ford F-250,Chevy 1500, Chevy 2500, Ford F-250. Only had real problems with the Toyota and the dodge. Even with the problems I liked the Toyota enough to buy another. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Haha I had to wait 11 weeks for my F250, I guess im the only one that still likes rolling down Windows by hand but doesn't want to sit on a vinyl seat. I had to go to 3 dealerships for one to finally find out that ford would make one for me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. The 30-30 has killed a bunch of deer, that's doesn't make it the best deer cartridge. I want a bullet to do the most possible damage in the deer and that isn't the xtp's forte. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. This is exactly what I say every hurricane season? The one that hit Jersey I gave a little slack to them but when you live in south Florida and you're buy plywood days before a hurricane I have a very hard time feeling pitty for you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I'm not sure if this is a serious post? Xtp's are very well known not to expand on impact unless large bone is struck I could go dig a few out of my backstop in the back yard and show you that they don't even expand when they hit clay. That being said they shoot well and are still a .451 bullet so expansion isn't needed for quickly killing critters. I have had very good luck with Barnes xpb's before that I was shooting the .451 nosler partition 260gn, they worked very well as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. This is why I hate trail cameras. I am a seat of the pants guy with everything in life especially hunting. The racks mean little to me I just like killing mature bucks. But if I'm in the mood to kill and a 2yr old comes out and makes the hunt fun he is in big trouble. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Range day? Every day is a range day! You guys have to get some steel plates set up out the back door! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. What bow are you shooting that you think is doing 300fps with that short of a draw? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. The buck that I see in my dreams is a narly heavy horned 18" inside spread typical 12pt. He will score 145-150" that is the buck that I have dreamed of for many years. That being said if an ugly old non typical is laying in his bed 30yds from me after I tracked him the odds of him seeing tomorrow are heavily stacked against him. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Last minute plot spike with added clover on a failed corn plot.
  13. I have an 8x8 piece of tyvec "house wrap" ironed flat then vacuum sealed in a pouch on my vest. It is used for boning out a deer and a tarp if I have to camp for the night. I have used it a few times for cutting up deer but haven't used it as a shelter yet, hope I never do but I'm sure it will work and it fits in a cargo pocket. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Sorry to hear about the accident, I hope for a speedy recovery! Where do you live, I know I would be more than willing to give you a hand getting out in the woods this year on my property and I'm sure others on here would do the same! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. A cup of coffee before I head into the woods. A juice box in my pocket with my candy bar for lunch and a life straw in case I have to drag or am too far from the truck and have to camp for the night. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. I nailed a girl like that a while back, only her body was different and she wasn't blonde. But she did wear camo, a lot of it! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. 26yds Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. If you aren't using terrain to cover your movement than it doesn't matter if you use a light or not. If you are properly using terrain to cover your movement than having a light on absolutely without a question scares more deer than going in silent. As for your car analogy if you walked the same woods everyday a couple hundred times a day I'm sure deer would be less likely to be frightened, but I'm sure you don't do this so the analogy doesn't work. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I'm with you I hate using a flashlight while heading in the woods. Don't have much help on finding the stands but if you don't wear glasses I highly recommend wearing safety glasses on your way in! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. 60k of my money has been tied into it since 20010 Plus 5K for a road. Plus we will call it 3500$ in taxes for 7 years. So 29500$ to shoot deer for 7 years. We averaged 1 buck a year of this property so that equates to around 4200$ per buck. The main reason it was a terrible investment for me is that between my brother and I we own just over 300acres around our houses "we live 200yds apart." If I couldn't walk into my back yard and hunt I might think the other property wasn't such a bad investment. Owning property is a great thing. The property I own around my house I wouldn't sell for 10x what I have in it. But it's my back yard I'm on it every day. Having just a hunting property that isn't very close to your house is a very serious chunk of change that will likely never pay its self off. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. I generally carry a small folder for daily use, but it sounds like it's working good for you and at that price if you loose it oh well, this coming from the guy who spent an hr and a half looking for my cold steel that my daughter was using today in a hayfield. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Was and is are very different. I now now that too much land is as bad if not worse than too little. In hindsight it was still a terrible investment. We hunted it a total of 3 sits last year between my brother and I. After this hunting season we are going to have the lumber appraised again and see if it's going to be better to sell as is or to log then sell. I could have done way better with that money else where but luckily I won't loose anything. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. It's went up some. I don't feel I got hosed at all, it's 15 minutes from my house and in southern zone my house and other property is in NZ. It was exactly what we were looking for and the taxes are the reason it was purchased as cheap as it was. It would also sell very quick for what what I have in it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. At 9" long and over half a pound what are you using it for? Sounds way to big and heavy for hunting or daily use? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Thanks for the idea's everyone. Let's hope his works! I did this small plot and the big plot. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
