  1. This is why I plant oats. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. This year I left the oats I planted for turkey season and got oats on them, I have had a flock of turkeys in the all summer and there is still a bunch of oats left. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. They will take a few frosts. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Not sure about buck forage but looking at the ingredients on some of the different seeds with deer on them is sad, many have the 2nd or 3rd ingredient as "inert material". I have had such good luck with feed oats that I have never considered anything else. I have found that they love a LOT of fertilizer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Throw the lumenocks in the garbage and buy nocturnal's, their a far superior product. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. There is a reason most modern "precision" rifle barrels are getting shorter! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I have always been the same way but after last year when I had crows eat 5 acres of sweet corn in 2 days I have waged war! I have a new Benelli and just ordered 2 flats of shells they are in big trouble this year! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Anyone else as excited as me for crow season to open? Last year was the first year I had crow hunted much at all but I am hooked I will not duck/goose hunt once this year because I have way more fun crow hunting. No limits and a target rich environment leads to sore shoulders and big smiles. If any of you have never tried it and live nearby I would love to have someone join in on the fun. I'm about an hr north of Albany. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. It's sad but I have heard the pros in shops these days say things like "you can't tune the new fast bows", "you're shooting mechanicals? No need to paper tune" etc etc. having a properly tuned bow is the most important part of archery hunting in my opinion. My compounds will shoot a bare shaft in the same hole as a fletched arrow and the biggest broadhead you can find. Tuning a bow properly is a challenging but very rewarding thing. One thing many don't understand about shooting a bow that isn't tuned properly is that if the nick is not perfectly behind the head on impact the arrow will Wil to the side and that is costing you a ton of KE. It could be the difference between watching the deer drop or never finding it if you hit shoulder. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Now that is impressive! Any Indian can shoot a compound at 100yds with the right tackle. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I live pretty close to where it happened, I get such a kick out of the "they got him" talk. It is a bike trail that is on the outside edge of town on the edge of a ton of farmland. If there is 1 infected coyote there is more, and the coyote most likely didn't get it from another coyote it got it from eating something that had it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Never would I shoot at a critter that far, time of flight is too long! 60yds is my limit but I would much rather them be at 25. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. 2 shots today, first one was at 30yds at 6:30 this morning second was just now at 90yds. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. You can paper tune at 3ft. It's not difficult at all just keep moving your rest until you get a perfect cut in the paper wether with bare shaft or with fletch. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. They located "A" rabid coyote and took it out, big difference. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. A properly tuned bow will shoot a fixed broadhead the same as a field point. I won't shoot a bow that won't, because you're loosing KE with your arrows not flying true. Mechanical broadheads are a bandaid for proper bow tuning. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. That's what I have heard There isn't a tractor or field truck around these parts that doesn't have some kind of a rifle in them. Woodchucks and coyotes aren't very well liked. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Here in the southern ADK's the bugs have been unbearable and they will be gone after the first frost usually around oct1. Around here when people see a coyote they shoot it. Other than the few people that run them with hounds very few guys actually hunt coyotes. I hunt around 11 big farms in the area and I'm the only one that coyote hunts on any of them. 19. I can't imagine too many people being out hunting coyotes during the summer, between the bugs and the heat and the worthless pelts. Realistically I don't think a longer season would make much difference at all maybe a few more opportunistic kills but then again they happen now all the time from farmers and landowners. 20. As a life long lacrosse guy I have tried a few different pairs of muck's because no matter what I do I can't get more than a year out of a pair of lacrosse's. I find the mucks to be extremely uncomfortable and can't get them to not feel "sloshy" on my feet. I wish I could like them because I think they will last longer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Same reason why guys in boats cast as close to shore as possible and guy on shore cast as far away from shore as possible. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. What shot? I have severe hearing loss and often get texts from brother says "that you?" And I'm like was what me. He usually responds with must have been right beside you. I know if I hear a shot I hope it's me because if not it is close! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Goldtip pro hunters 55-75. Total arrow weight is 391 with a 31.5" arrow. I have shot these arrows for probably 10 years. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. http://www.marinecorpstimes.com/news/2017/08/12/on-newsstands-this-week/ Marine corps times this week. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Pressure doesn't usually change much due to lack of case capacity due to the bigger bullet. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
