  1. I went to the town building and looked at the tax map, I'm in the same boat at 30 I have land and my own house. I live without a lot of other things and am debt free but I am living my dream! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I'm not sure on the rate of twist of garands but I know the 06 was originally designed for bullets from 155-165gn so I would think any 150-165 would be fine. There are people here who know a lot more about them than me but I think you should be careful shooting full factory loads because I think the original 06 loads were a little softer than the modern stuff. 3. Sounds like you have your ducks in a row. The property I have bought none of it has been "officially" for sale but I had cash and made offers. I think that is the best way to go about buying land. People might be struggling and not thinking about the value of their property. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. That is an excellent shirt idea. It's so true, it's honestly sad that our military is being ruined by individuals looking out for themselves instead of the team. Luckily for us as a country at least for sometime in the future it looks like we still have a steady flow of young men that are in it for the fight and not the glory that are willing to do what's needed to fight for our country. I think a retirement plan for our military is the worst thing the government ever did for our military. I saw too many men more worried about their pension than the mission and that mentality gets a lot of good men injured or killed in combat. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. The first day of bow season when it's over 60deg I would be at that water hole all day! 3 of my biggest bow bucks were shot wary in the year near water on hot days Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Never heard of renting one other than on organized tours/rides. You can usually find a decent used one for around a grand? How long of a road do you have to get up. If money is so tight that a 1k$ wheeler is out of the question than a deer cart would be a better investment. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I guess not, that dates it 20 years before the 7600 was made, by the looks of it I would date it in the mid 2000's. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Early October like before the 20th I would use my regular season because there would be a lot of bow season left. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Early October like before the 20th I would use my regular season because there would be a lot of bow season left. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. That would make it a 760, the finish apears to be parkerized and they never made a 760 in that finish? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. If not you can come up and have your pick of my cabinets for the trip. All I would charge is a 6 pack and plenty of pics. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Let me look in my box of 7600 stuff I might have an old model swivel that replaces the forend cap. I don't believe they make them anymore but I might have a couple if so I'll shoot you a pm and I'll mail it to you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. That I can't help with, all mine have fit perfectly. They must have changed them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I miss some friends but I don't miss it that much. I was in during a very weird time and in just 8 years I could see a big difference and most wasn't for the better. If we entered another real war I would probably get back in as soon as possible. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. 300 million, I would buy a 300acre farm in every Midwest state. Put a little shed on them to sleep in and be one happy camper! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Don't always bleed but almost always have black eyes. Your story is way better than mine from last year. Loading a deer in my uncle's truck he had a group fold bed cover and it was still down. Spray on bed liner wouldn't let the deer slide in so I gave it all I had and it went in a hurry and the bed cover caught me right in the bridge of the nose. I stand blood, very crooked and black eyes within an hr. If it's broke the good thing is it was only sore for a few days, didn't go to doctors and it is a bit crooked now but certainly not affecting my looks any. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. I killed a few deer with my mini 30 when I lived in NC. Was never impressed with the performance. I tried Hornady sst's and the Winchester X's. I beleve Barnes is making a 123gn bullet now. If I was going to hunt with it now I would probably hand load some of them to try. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. You need a new job! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I have to work 3 days between oct 28 and nov 28. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Usmc 05-14. Infantry/marksmanship trainer. Lejeune 05-09 Parris Island 09-12 Lejeune 12-14. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. If it's really cold and I have a heavy jacket on I use a Nike wrist sweat band around my forearm just to keep the jacket clear. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. What ever you decide to do good luck, just put a lot of thought into how you plan to get the bear out of the woods. Having shot 2 bear in my life "one with bow and one with rifle" I can honestly say that for me to shoot another bear it would either have to already be in the bed of my truck or have one of my limbs in its mouth. My gun bear was shot in the ADKS and it took 5 us a day and a half to drag it a mile and a half. And that was 5 guys who were all under 25 and all in very good shape. The meat in my opinion sucks, I'm sure some will argue but in my opinion it's terrible. The rugs are expensive but cool. I do go up to my tent camp during early bear and I carry a gun but I'm just scouting with absolutely no intentions of shooting one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. I have hunted a bunch of different areas in the ADK's and by far the highest bear population I have saw was around tupper lake and cranberry lake. On a September fishing/camping trip to cranberry 2 years ago I bet we saw over a dozen bears on the shore while fishing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Thanks man. Problem is its full. From now on all the racks are going to camp unless I shoot a real dandy that needs to be mounted. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Back to the point on females, The marines have spent millions and millions of dollars and a ton of time and theater thousands of females to be infantry and there has been 3 females to make it through the basic infantry training. Back to my original point, the juice just isn't worth the squeeze. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
