To become proficient in shooting at the ranges where the 257 starts outperforming the 25 it takes more than a couple shots a year. 0-300yds "the distance 99+% of game is killed" they are ballistically close enough to never know the difference nor will the critter. Ammo prices aren't a moot point when you are talking about hundreds of rounds. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Converting shotgun from deer to turkey

What ever you choose, when it comes to calling less is more. The more you call the more chance you have of screwing it up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

My 1300 with a patternmaster shoots about everything very well but it shoots the Winchester XR's extremely well. As for calling it's trial and error mostly error. If you already have a scope on it leave it, makes it easy to center your pattern. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
What to do with 3 acre field with house in middle?

And make it long enough to shoot bows! That's the best money I have ever spent! 24 yard range under cover doesn't get any better! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
I do love the looks of those Henry's, a little heave and too long of barrels but if they would come out with one in 357maxi or 358win I will own one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Grass "lawn grade" seed can get expensive, depends on what you want. "Hay seed" is cheap I think I payed less than 10$ for a 50lb bag and for your purpose I'm sure 50lbs an acre would be close. Prepping depends on what you have for equipment. For that little bit you can pull an old bed spring behind a pickup and get it ready enough for seed as long as you spray it first. The key to keeping the weeds gone is keeping them mowed. After they flower is when they seed so you can't let them get to flower. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Trump Gets My Respect

He did this because he wanted to not for the notoriety. That means more to me than anything else! Too many politicians do the right things for the wrong reasons. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Oh how I love my single shots! You have a pretty good herd there. I don't know how many I got but in the last year I have bought 6 cva's and 2 H&R handi's Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Spray it in the fall. Ph test the soil give it what it needs in the spring and plant a regular hay seed "very cheep" a few days before a rain. Wait a week spread fertilizer and watch grow. Keep it mowed a few times a year and you won't have to worry about weeds. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
There are a lot better bullets than sst's I have used them in the past as well and found them to not expand very well at all. I used them in 308 30-06 and wasn't happy with either. I loaded the same bullets for my 300wsm and they expanded wonderfully. I think their jacket is a little too hard for the slower 30 cals. Any deer will die with a bullet through the heart but a bullet that doesn't transfer energy is a bullet that fails in my opinion. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Only story was my 2015 buck. The rifle for my 15 buck is a tikka t3 that is rebored to 35 whelen with the barrel cut to 17.5". This years buck was killed with a Remington 7600 pump carbine in 35whelen as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Ta hell with a pavilion in Albany, I'm only 50minutes north and we could have a range day shoot some skeet and drink all the beer we could want here. If guys are traveling a long ways you're more than welcome to bring tents. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Heck of a buck, every buck I have ever shot in the ADKS has been an adventure of some sort or another. All but 1 has ended with a drag of over a mile and never downhill. 235 is a giant especially that late in the year. This is my ADK buck from this year, he weighed 226 and was killed on the 18th of November. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

235 is a giant! You kill him in early in the year as well? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

200lbs is the number to beat in the ADKS. We don't get a lot of high scoring racks but and buck over 200 is a trophy. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

That's a dandy, did you weigh him? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Any SXS Double Shotgun Fans?
Buckmaster7600 replied to airedale's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
I have 2 Sxs's but both are old with Damascus barrels that I don't want to shoot. The lefever Nitros look to be very affordable and I would love to have one to play with. For someone who wants one to play around with from time time would you guys recommend them? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
