  1. My Remington versa max kicks very little with 3..5's. I mean very little because half the time it was doesn't feed properly after 3 trips back to Remington. It's a very soft shooter when it does shoot tho and makes 3.5" feel like a 2.75. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. The best thing I have found to work so far is to use electric fence on boarders . Don't leave them on all the time just when I think there is someone trespassing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Yup and an extra to save me the trip next time I buy a new leupold. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I love the Henry, I only shot a couple hundred shells this afternoon so it's still early. So far the action is smooth shoots quarter sized groups at 25yds and I went 24 for 24 on my 6" gong at 100yds freehand. H&R made rifles for a long time until Remington and all of their infinite wisdom stopped them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I don't have any credit cards and always have some cash in the truck just in case. And I had to walk out to the truck and get it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Well I walked in a gun shop with no intentions of buying anything but a scope cap. I ended up with a H&R 30-30 with an extractor and a Henry big loop carbine 22 and a leupold vx2 1-4. This is why my wife doesn't like me going to gun shops alone. First shot with the 30-30 80yds free hand. I think she'll work! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Ohio has 10 days of gun and almost 5 months of archery I don't think you can compare it to NY when we have a nearly 1-1 ration of bow to gun day and a 1-4 bow to gun day ratio in NZ. That being said I'm hoping for full inclusion. It will make it much easier for me to dump this cumbersome 1500$ paper weight I bought last summer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I use a pull behind yard airator that I got for 10$ at a garage sale. I it's the kind you flip over with tires on one side and the spike on the other. It's not the fastest but works great if you put enough weight on it and go over a few times. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Getting rid of cat tails is tough! Your best chance is to plow it under while there is still a little frost in the ground. Very tough to do unless you have big equipment or aren't in a hurry. A few years ago I was able to do just this with a 70hp tractor and a 2 bottom plow. Luckily it was only 5 or 6 acres. After you get it plowed spray it a few times and you should be good to plant. With any wet land plots dead furrows are your friends. I grew up on a crop farm that has a lot of wet spots. My great grand father would run a dead furrow every 10 or 15ft for the whole length of the field and around the edges. Now that we don't do crops I do the same thing for my food plots. Makes it a pain to mow or get around on the wheelers or tractors but it helps drainage especially when we get a flood late spring which seems to be the new norm. . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Shoot a buck with my bow in the Adirondacks. Shoot another 200lb buck in the Adirondacks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Granted it's probably my heaviest rifle but my H&R handi in 30-30 doesn't kick, it kicks less than my 410 for sure. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Congrats! That's what it's all about! Not about inches or pounds it's about those smiles and the memories! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I have no idea what you are attempting to say? You desperately need some help in the punctuation department. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I have very little feelings for ass holes such as this guy and would have zero problem if the cops shot him. How can anyone say that the car wasn't a good move? Most cars now have those nice push bumpers on them so it wouldn't damage the car and if the pin him against the wall he won't be going anywhere putting anyone else in danger. To me this was a best case scenario, no one was seriously injured and the idiot is off the streets sounds like a win to me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I see nothing wrong with this. This method keeps the officers furthest from the threat. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. That's a perfect bullet for yotes, cheap and plenty accurate. A core-loct will not expand too violently on a yote. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. I live to still hunt and track in the ADKS but I suck at it. I move too fast and don't "notice" deer like I should. My saving grace is that I can shoot. I like to get up high before light wait an hr or 2 after day light and hunt my way down. I have never had luck hunting up. Move slow and hunt with your eyes more than anything else. The moving slow part can be tricky because as you have said you have to cover ground. The hardest part of still hunting is knowing when to cover ground and when to slow down to a crawl. The only way to learn this is by messing up a lot. The last 2 bucks I have killed up north I have smelled before I saw them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Great choice in gun and optics! This one was a 30-06 and is now a 35whelen, it also has just under 18" barrel. For a "mountain" gun there isn't a better option for a light and short gun than the tikkas. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I have never saw a tick on a deer or myself in the ADKS. Must have something to do with you being on the edge of some farm land. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Yea I had to trim some of every corner. Thankfully the 35whelen doesn't damage much meat I probably only lost 6 or 7lbs of meat, my dog enjoyed that blood shot meat so I don't consider it a waste. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. I didn't think civilians could own firearms in China? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. That's a good one to keep around. Honestly if you want a bolt it's very hard to beat a tikka. Blr's just feel awkward to me although my 358 isn't going anywhere. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. I got no help on the new one because you already got the perfect one, but if u get a new one I'm interested in the old one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. My most recent Remington 760 project is a 35rem that has been cut down to 16" and rechambered to 358win. It is going to be my crappy day gun and it won't have a scope on it. I love Ghost ring peeps because of the big hole and durability so that's what it's getting but for front sights I want something bright but hate fiber optic because I always break them. I just found that Trijicon makes a night sight for the 760-7600's. I have these on a few of my Glocks and love them but have never considered them for a rifle. Anyone ever swathe se or used them on a rifle? Their about 100$ so I would love to hear some first hand experience before I put down the cash. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
