Looks like a nice spot! I've been getting a lot of deer but nothing but does and 1.3 year old bucks behind the house. I had 1 slob and 2 dandy bucks all summer last year. Lost track of them when the season started or soon after. Must not have made it. My hope will be roaming bucks during the ruts here and focus other spots early season.

It looks like a doe to me just angled funny and shadowed.

I've seen a few 220-230s dressed and that would be pretty close to 300 on the hoof. Not sure what the biggest NY buck ever is but its over 300.

I sink the legs in as well. I find all my ladder stands super secure. All mine do have a chain added due to thieving bastids! Also serves as a secondary secure. I check straps and change when needed. I do like the idea of beefing up the middle rope and strapping the support bar. I have a brand new X-Stand Duke that is designed with a claw system to secure to tree to be able to put up solo. It is a deluxe stand, I can't wait to use it I just do not have a spot for it yet!!

I live 10 minutes from it so yea I go every year. Have some good free concerts at Chevy Court. People watching is always great, better than Walmarts lol! Lots of fried junk but there are quite a few decent treats. I always need to get a big pile of the slinky like sliced potatoes all fried up with some vinegar on top. Had a Bacon Bomb last year that was good, not healthy lol. Maple cotton candy is another must and the long fried dough sticks still warm …..

I have always dragged out no matter in the Dacks or around home, except on some private where you can get an ATV. I have dragged deer for up to 8 hours to get out. To tell you the truth to cut one up and pack out and go back in and out again might not be a whole heck of a lot less work lol. I really do not want to open up all that meat to contamination if I do not have to. The trips out West I have been on we could always get a vehicle near where an animal was downed or horses. We have one spot that we use a cart because you walk in over a mile just on a gravel road. I would not want to try using one in the woods though. And around my place I use the ATV.

I'm a Rage fan but just about any broadhead can kill a deer. Shooting well and having confidence is key. You could use explosive heads if legal and if you can't hit your target properly still not recover your deer.

I've bow hunted probably around 30 years now and have owned two hunting bows. Bear Whitetail II taught myself to shoot it and bow hunt. Never even had proshop help the first decade. 6 years ago or so I upgraded to a Diamond Marques. Still shoots 305-310 and it is very comfortable to me. I find something I like I keep it. Don't need a new model every 5 months. I got some buds that do that......
