  1. I have a couple in similar shape. Pruning apple tree is not a hobby if you have a bunch and big ones!! It can be a full time job lol. I have tried to work on a few, some I dont touch and one i prune every year and that tree alone takes days and 20+ foot ladders and such! I also had blossoms on a tree this week that had dropped most of its apples!!
  2. Congratz Man!! No reason to give up a season. He will fit right in a pop up blind with you!!
  3. I want my son to get his first and maybe second!! I want to spend a lot of the season in the woods and less at work!!
  4. Thanks for sharing Robin!! Looks like a nice trip.
  5. Well getting most of the chores finished up before the season. Closed the pool yesterday. That was wierd I went swimming in it before hand and it felt stupid closing the pool when it was 86 out!! Got out again shooting the muzzleloaders and the boy is shooting good. Can't believe NC trip is only 10 days away! I've been shooting the compound every day. Just go out and shoot one shot at a time, all that counts is that first one! Tonight I need to get the hunting clothes out and washed. I leave for business in Chicago Wednesday through Friday, I need to head to Jersey the following Monday and Tuesday then leave Wednesday for NC! I will get one day Sunday out bowhunting for those big boys. It looks like the crazy heat is supposed to end Thursday so maybe it will be 40's in the am!
  6. I never really saw one here until a year or two ago. Now this year there are quite a bunch. My FIL is a contractor and he said you want to see a bunch of them look under your siding lol!

    Beer

It is an IPA, I actually like their Focal Banger better. It is worth trying. If we do another meet up sometime and I can make it. I will make sure to bring a couple.
  9. Maybe the "Fancy" ones you play downstate lol We don't cower to the Frenchie Fashion POPO up here Oh yea and Subarus sound nice, who new!!
  10. Most of my ladders are 15-18. When using the climber usually 18-24 feet sometimes higher in gun. Depends a lot on the cover and shooting lanes available. As I get older I am not a fan of super high hights though. Some of my little brothers sets freak me out. I sat one one year and I would not have been able to shoot as I was afraid to not be holding on lol.
  11. I need to golf with cargo shorts, I need some place to carry extra golf balls to replace all the ones I spray into the woods!!

ok TF its beer oclock!! I'm clocking out, hitting the beer fridge and hitting the deck. The lawn can get mowed tomorrow!!
  15. I was just being a wise a$$ cause the rack will surly be a lot different. I would still love to know the date of that pic. I don't think 120 is far off though what he will probably be around and I am still giving him 3.5 at this point. Nobody can prove me wrong since he is not a hit lister lol!!
  16. disagree!! It will be hard not soft, longer tines, not fuzzy, a big difference really lol
  17. You cant rack score him until the antlers stop growing and the vevet comes off. As he is now the tine length is lacking but I want to see where he is at now. I got a feeling the OP has a pic of that.
  18. This is a pic where the buck is still growing and by the bulbing at the top of the tines he has some growing to do. Also the bases have some real size. This is a deer I would not hesitate to take. The pic is terrible for aging. I can't see his face lengthwise or his neck.....I would put him at 3-4 years old and not feel more than 50% comfortable without a couple better pics.
  19. I will give you one of the best smoking resources around. http://www.smokingmeatforums.com/f/ Make sure to keep notes on your smokes. I failed to do that in the beginning and it extends your learning time lol. Take notes of times, temps, weight going in, woods, rubs, outside temp....Believe me it will help. I wish I had when I started. Also good thermometers are a must for the smoker and the meat.

  22. Right now my deer are losing summer coats and putting on winter coats. I see a significant drop off in movement in the deer on hot days when they have their winter coats. Not saying they do not move but it is a lot less. If you go south or coastal the deer stay in summer coats longer thus not affecting movement as much. That would apply to CT right now.
  23. I have been seeing fishers for the last 2-3 years in a couple of my cny spots. Never seen one prior to that. They are pretty cool. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
