Do you remember Red Armstrong? Early 1970's "enforcer" for the Amerks. Tough SOB and my uncle helped me get his autograph.

My uncle used to drive from East Rochester to Newark to pick me up and take me to Amerks games when I was a little kid. Now he lives near Tampa Bay, Fla and roots for all things Tampa Bay. I talk to him a few times a year on the phone to bust his chops about abandoning his "home" teams.

I'm not that far gone, crappyice. I just would rather not drive at night in a snowstorm in the southern tier. I've done it many times in the past, but I'm getting older and more careful now. As Clint Eastwood said, "A man's gotta know his limitations".

You might write to the school and ask for some references and testimonials from students and/or parents. From what I understand it's an excellent school that was founded in the mid-1800's, though I have no personal experience with it. At this point in time with the heavily Liberal public education system, K thru 12, Hillsdale is almost a remedial education.

I'm with you Dan. I just won't drive at night in a snowstorm any more. During the day to get a 12-pack of pops is one thing, the truck knows the way. Venturing beyond the "safety zone" is different. I don't often leave my area code any more, except I'm right on the border between 315 and 585 with friends in 585. I venture into 585 now and then.

I could be in for this if it's daytime and not in a snowstorm. I'm becoming a wuss about driving at night or in crappy weather.

I've seen more deer when driving to or from my hunting spots than I've ever seen while sitting in a stand. It's almost a given.

He's a full-throated supporter of what the President is doing regarding the military personnel and families. That's it.

I have several Conservative-leaning friends who have tried to correct misconceptions, errors, and flat-out lies on Wiki over the years. They all have pretty much given up even though they have extensive expertise in their areas. It's a Liberal/Progressive site, and fighting it is an upstream battle all the way. I have no idea where Mr. Sinise stands on the President's election, or even whether or not he voted for the President. Unless he's editing that Wiki page himself, though, I'd be very suspicious of the information. The same is true for Mike Rowe, the "Dirty Jobs" guy. He and Sinise both run substantial foundations that do great work, and injecting personal politics into the mix endangers what they're able to do for the country. They keep their politics to themselves. I have great respect for that.

First off, I would say that believing anything from Wikipedia is essentially foolish. You can take that any way you'd like.

Gary Sinise is a good man, and a full-throated MAGA supporter. He did an interview on Life, Liberty, and Levin a while back that was excellent. Here's a short piece of the interview:

Check with the local code enforcement officer, and with the gas supplier you intend to use. They'll probably give you different answers, but since the code guy will do the inspection, go with his recommendation. It's been fifteen years since I did that kind of install, and codes seem to change almost daily in NYS. PITA!

If people like this woman continue to achieve high office, it's the entire country I'm concerned about. There will be nowhere on the planet to flee to.

Not at all!!

My brother has a pellet stove, as do many friends. They're great. But you're still buying fuel to heat your home, and if wood pellets suddenly cost $1000 per ton, then what? Same with coal. It's terrific until the market price of the fuel goes up. I heat with wood because the only limiting factor to how much I can gather is the amount of gas in my truck. Well, there's a little bit of gas and oil in the saws as well, but it's not significant.

The neighborhood changed dramatically and Mark Anacone closed the place more than ten years ago. It was a sad day for a lot of people.
